A Word From James

James was Jesus' brother and wrote a book in the New Testament. He starts chapter 5 of that book with these words;

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. (emphasis mine)

Is it possible that James is talking about us? Jesus told us to store our wealth in heaven where moth and rust will never destroy. Is it possible that we have ignored Jesus and instead started worshiping the god of consumption and good times?

And finally, a rhetorical question....what happens to people of the bible when they ignore God's word?
