Healthcare Debacle

Of course it's everywhere in the news today....Congress passed sweeping health care change.

In spite of the unsustainable spending and debt that this Federal Government already has...they have voted in a brand new program that will cost so much money that even the experts have no idea what it will cost.

It reminds me of a client I had who after buying a big house he couldn't afford...he quickly used the home equity to put a pool in the back yard that he also couldn't afford. A few years later he got the initial letter that the bank was going to start foreclosing on his home....so he quickly went and bought a new car on credit before the foreclosure could ruin his credit rating.

That sure sounds like what Congress is doing. Even though the credit rating companies are saying we are in serious trouble....Congress spends all it's time putting together some new program to give away though they have no thought of how it will be paid for.

Remember what we have been saying all along....a country can't continue to print money to pay for things it's can't afford. Sooner or later they print too much and it all becomes worthless. Remember when Germany did this after WWI??

Now today we get this news from the National Inflation Association;

The National Inflation Association today issued a warning to all Americans of a potential outbreak of hyperinflation in the U.S. by year 2015 caused primarily by the healthcare bill and rising interest payments on our national debt.

Medicare was created in 1966 at a cost of $3 billion per year and the House Ways and Means Committee estimated in 1966 that in 1990 the cost of Medicare would reach $12 billion per year. Instead, the actual cost of Medicare in 1990 was $107 billion (792% more than what was projected) and today Medicare costs $408 billion annually. In 2003, the White House Office of Management and Budget estimated that the Iraq War would have a total cost of $50 to $60 billion. So far, we have already spent $713 billion on the Iraq War (over 1,000% more than what was projected).

The Congressional Budget Office is estimating that the healthcare bill will cost $940 billion over the next 10 years, but if history is any indication, the actual cost will likely be several trillion dollars. NIA believes the healthcare bill will be the final nail in the coffin of the U.S. economy and will just about guarantee that we will see hyperinflation by the year 2015.

Did you catch that, "final nail in the coffin of the U.S. economy?" Wow.

I wonder if that is what it's going to take to wake up all the U.S. citizens who will never look to God because they are convinced that the U.S. Government is actually who cares for, feeds and protects them?

  1. The truth sets us free. If you're love is in God and not money you will be just fine. When we put God on the back burner is when we think that we can do life without Him. It's not a money issue; It's a Faith issue. Lukewarm is no good. "It's a slow fade" Sadly may will not see it till it's too late.

  2. Amen! Jesus said you can't worship GOD and Mammon (god of money and wealth) But where have Americans put their faith? In all our stuff, things and bank accounts. Ultimately those things WILL collapse.

    Funny that you referenced "slow fade"....I have been singing that song to mayself since I heard it on the radio last Sunday.
