1999 NYT Article Explains Current Situation

This article was published in the New York Times in September, 1999. It talks about the programs to put mortgages into the hands of people with poor credit. Here is one paragraph that the Democrats (Pelosi?) won't want to see; "Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits."

Did you catch that?? Increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration. So when the Democrats are trying hard to blame this financial mess on the current administration...they are lying. I'm not saying that there isn't blame to go all around...there will be.
