Catasrophe

When Israel won the 1967 war with the Arabs and not only defended their original land but took over other land as they pushed their attackers back from whence they came. This is also when they got control of Jerusalem from the Jordanians. This event is referred to in Palestine as "Nakba" which translates to "catasrophe".

It would now appear that the United Methodists may also believe that the creation of Israel was a catasrophe. "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you", the bible tells us when referring to the Jews.

I wonder if the declining membership in the methodist church has anything to do with how liberal they have become in their understanding of God's word?
