Iranian Good News-Bad News

Today in the Wall Street Journal there is a little blurb under WORLD WATCH on page A10. It is titled, NUCLEAR NEGOTIATOR SAYS TEHRAN IS READY FOR TALKS. The blurb goes onto say that Iran has offered an opening for possible compromise with the West, and is ready to hold talks with world powers over it's nuclear program.

Sounds like great news! Maybe Israel can call off it's nuclear subs and cancel it's fighter jets from pounding Iran!

However, the end of the blurb goes on to say that Iranian leaders continue to send messages of defiance to the world community. They decided to affirm the nomination of a new defense minister who was a choice of Ahmadinejad.

Turns out this guy is wanted by the government of Argentina for the bombing of a Jewish community center in 1994 that killed 85 people...mostly Jews.

So the bad news is that a known mass murderer of Jews will be Iran's new minister of defense.

That leaves a dilemma....is the good news better than the bad news is bad?
