Pat Robertson

O.K. friends...we certainly can talk amongst ourselves about Satan and his satanic ways. We can wonder if earthquakes, Katrina, or the tsunami of 2004 or other natural disasters, seem to have a way of striking where Godlessness prevails.

But we need to remember that those discussions are meant to be had amongst "the brethren"....and are not supposed to be made public to a whole host of unbelievers.

Remember...the Word of God is foolishness to those that are perishing, says God.

So when Pat Robertson comes on TV and tells everyone that Haiti made a pact with the devil....it is only going to serve as a major distraction and may cloud out the positive witness Christians are currently having as they do relief in Haiti and send cash and compassion.

If you missed what Pat said, you can catch the gist of it here; http://www.shnock.com/pat-robertson-haiti-earthquake-10720/

Again, I wasn't in Haiti in 200 years ago when this dedication to Satan supposedly took place....but I do have a friend who is Haitian...and he told me that's exactly what did happen. He also told me that voodoo is practiced everywhere on the island.

Jesus said that you are either for Him or against Him. It's that black and white. Now ask yourselves....is voodoo helping lead people to Christ, or leading them away? I think we know the answer to that rhetorical question.

Again, let's remember that Apostle Paul talked about "the Restrainer" in Thessalonians...and he was referring to the Holy Spirit. So ask yourselves....what is the Restrainer actually restraining?

Obviously, the answer is that the Holy Spirit restrains Satan from making all hell break loose.

And certainly we all know where the Holy Spirit currently dwells...in the hearts of every born-again follower of Christ. So it would stand to reason...the fewer followers of Christ there are in any one location on planet earth...the more you would expect all hell to break loose in that location.

One thing for sure....the people on earth who are not included in the rapture of the church will be totally confused when God starts destroying everything on planet earth...exactly as His word says.

What do you think? Should Pat just keep blowing the trumpet and let God figure out the rest...or should he learn to discern who his audience is...and feed the babies milk while keeping the solid food for mature believers?

Please leave your comments.

I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. ITim. 1:12-20.

Whether or not Robertson's claims and research are substantiated, I hope he, and all of us Christians take into account what the Holy Spirit revealed through Paul in the above passage.

Whether or not Robertson's claims and research are substantiated I pray that his and our attitude is that of Paul as inspired and revealed by the Holy Spirit in I Timothy 1:12-16:

I agree with your comments. Pat R. has a hard time taming what he says, and his reputation makes him a target even more. People look at this from God's perspective (i.e. how can He allow this to happen?), but like you mention, a formidable opponent (satan) is at work and having his way. God will use this tragedy for good. Your reasoning regarding voodoo, or really anything else, taking away from the ability to align with Christ is right on.
