Restoring Faith

First off, I want to extend a large hat-tip to Lisa H. as she served as my guest blogger over the weekend. She has some incredible insight and it is a privilege to call her a sister in Christ.

Some of you have heard of Vanguard Mutual Funds. The founder of this investment company is a man named John Bogle. Today he has an article in the Wall Street Journal titled, RESTORING FAITH IN FINANCIAL MARKETS.

Here are a few interesting (prophetic?) paragraphs from this article;

'Investing is an act of faith." So I wrote in 1999, the very first sentence of my book, "Common Sense on Mutual Funds." But as 2009 ended, writing in the updated 10th anniversary edition after the passage of this turbulent decade, I concluded that "the faith of investors has been betrayed."

Question; where does the Bible tell us to put our faith and trust?

And this;

Result: The momentary illusion of the price of a stock took center stage, replacing the enduring reality of the company's intrinsic value—the discounted value of its future cash flow.

Wow....is he saying that our financial system could be built on an illusion?

Now please note this paragraph...as it is simply quite amazing;

The process of restoring the faith of investors must begin with a demand that the agent/owners of investment America stand up for the rights of their principals/beneficiaries. What we need is congressional action to establish a federal principle of fiduciary duty—encapsulated by the phrase "no man can serve two masters."

Readers.....did you catch that? The founder of the largest investment firm in America is telling us what we have to do to restore faith in our failed money system...and then he UNKNOWINGLY quotes the words of Jesus Christ!!!

Read it here; http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703436504574640523013840290.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

You simply can not make this stuff up!! He wants congress to paste the words of Jesus, "no man can serve two masters" onto some new legislation in an attempt to restore the "faith" to the financial markets!!!...and he probably has no idea who spoke those words!!
