Black Friday

Of course we all know what Black Friday is....it's when 180 million U.S. consumers hit the stores at 4 am looking for a bargain....so they can be ready to celebrate the birth of Christ in style. (insert sarcasm here).

How sad that as a society we can't even let our turkey digest from Thanksgiving (giving thanks to God for all He has given us)...before we are charging out to buy more crap.

For some who don't remember why they call it Black Friday...it's because this is the day that all the retail stores hope to go "into the black". Up until this day most stores have been operating in the red. They hope that the celebration surrounding the birth of Christ will get them profitable before year end.

So with all the mayhem that surrounds 180 million folks clamoring for more crap...could this day be a foreshadowing of how us consumers may behave when we have to clamor for food if our society collapses? The article below asks that question.

It seems with each passing year the madness on Black Friday gets even worse. This year, there were reports of fights and rioting from coast to coast. It was estimated that over 180 million U.S. shoppers headed for the stores on Friday, and whenever you get that many people together there are going to be problems. But just how crazed ordinary Americans are getting over saving a little bit of money is deeply disturbing when you really start thinking about it. If people will go this wild just to save 40 percent on a television set, then what in the world are they going to do when they have been without food for a couple of days? If Americans will act like psychotic animals just to save 50 bucks, then what in the world will they do when they have lost everything and are desperate to survive?

All of us had better hope and pray that an economic collapse does not happen any time soon, because it is becoming increasingly apparent that the American people are not morally equipped to be able to handle one. Greed and selfishness have become so rampant in America that large segments of the population have totally forgotten how to be any other way.

See it here; http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/9-shocking-examples-of-black-friday-violence-is-this-a-foretaste-of-the-economic-riots-we-can-expect-when-the-financial-system-collapses

The article goes on to give 9 examples (with video) of the rampage at various places as folks all rioted in hopes of preparing early for the birth of The King.

"There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." 2 Timothy 3:1

As you read this article and reflect on the words of Paul...ask yourselves if we aren't EXACTLY where Paul said we would be in the Last Days.

Even so...come Lord Jesus!

Reading this article and watching the video triggers my gag reflex.

So sad that the world has come to this. I'm afraid that it will just get worse.

What about Jesus? Not just at Christmas by EVERY DAY.
What about being happy and thankful for what we have now? How much "stuff" (insert your own word here) do we "need".

Dear Lord ~ Wake us up even if it means taking away all our "stuff".

Amen April! Wake us up even if it means taking all our stuff. If you watch the video THE DAY THE DOLLAR DIED....our stuff may be leaving us sooner than anyone knows. Also what is interesting is that the Christians in China are PRAYING FOR PERSECUTION to come to America...in hopes that it wakes us up. They know what a blessing of the Holy Spirit that persecution can lead to...and they want us to have the same blessing. Crazy, huh?

Dennis ~ It is well with my soul.
And I know it is well with your's also.

Seeing my life thru the eyes of my heart will prove the hand of God in all things.

Will God put me in a position “for just such a time as this”?

I believe He will. An already He has.

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." ~Jesus
