Huckabee Tells it Like it is.

Presidential contender and ex-governor, Mike Huckabee, was recently in Israel and pretty much told the truth in regards to "settlements". Watch for him to catch heck for these statements. I'm pretty sure some Muslim extremist will have a fatwa (Muslim death sentence) placed on his head for daring to say what the truth is.

JERUSALEM (AP) - Potential 2012 U.S. presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told Jewish settlers Monday that attempts to prevent them from building in east Jerusalem are as outrageous as housing discrimination in the United States.

"I cannot imagine, as an American, being told I could not live in certain places in America because I was Christian, or because I was white, or because I spoke English," he said.

Huckabee dismissed the notion that Jewish settlements on land the Palestinians want for a future state are obstacles to peace. Instead, he backed the settlers' view that
they have the right to build anywhere in "the place that God gave them."

Most of the international community - including President Barack Obama - considers the settlements illegal because they are built on occupied land. Huckabee, a former governor of Arkansas and a serious contender for president in 2008, is expected to seek the Republican nomination to run against Obama in 2012.

Holy Hannah! ..."the place that God gave them?" That's awesome! We need to support leaders who tell it like it is. I believe we need to support Israel with 100% of our talk and actions and quit trying to play both sides of the fence. Obviously they are the best friend we have ever had in the Middle East.

Of course our leaders over the past decades have been terrified to actually say the truth for fear that our oil (lifeblood) would be cut off. But by assuming that it would be, we throw away the possibility that God would actually bless us. "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you."

The uprising in Egypt will continue to show us the folly of trying to please everyone all the time. You can't support a dictator but then claim you are a champion for democracy.

Furthermore, by now it should be fairly obvious to everyone that we only support democracy when it leads to the election of someone that the USA agrees with. There's nothing wrong with that....we should just come right out and say it.

Maybe if our actions matched our words and our words matched our actions....we could end up making the world a more stable place?
