What is the American Dream?  I believe the phrase that goes with it is, "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

I know that most American college kids over the last 150 years would have answered that correctly.

Now watch the short video from this college professor when he asked his sophomore students to describe the American dream.

So now 80% believe that the government should give you a job, a house, a college education, healthcare...and that would fulfill their American dream.

How did we go so wrong?  Simple.

  ¹⁰ When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. (Thank you Jesus for this good land called America!) ¹¹ Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. (Yeah...we don't really read the Bible anymore...) ¹² Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, (Living the American dream with a cabin up north, and a winter home down south!) ¹³ and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, (I've got everything!!  And what I don't have the government will give me!) ¹⁴ then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.  Deuteronomy 8:10-14
