India Launches ICBM

ICBM stands for Inter Continental Ballistc Missile....and India just shot one off.  Of course this shows China, Pakistan and everyone else that India doesn't like (or that doesn't like India) that India can deliver one of it's nuclear warheads into anyplace in China.

I would now expect that China might choose to launch an even bigger ICBM in the coming weeks.

India has successfully launched a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile able to carry a nuclear warhead, officials say.

The Agni-V was launched from a site off India's east coast and took about 20 minutes to hit its target somewhere near Indonesia in the Indian Ocean.

The missile has a range of more than 5,000km (3,100 miles), potentially bringing targets in China within range.

India said the launch was "flawless" and the missile had reached its target.

"The ships located in mid-range and at the target point have tracked the vehicle [missile] and witnessed the final event," Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) spokesman Ravi Gupta said.

With this, India joins an elite nuclear club of China, Russia, France, the US and UK which already have long-range missiles, although with a much greater range. Israel is also thought to possess them.

Holy missile test!  Isn't it interesting that North Korea tried to launch a really big ICBM last week but failed?  And now we have India joining the "elite" nuclear club that includes China, Russia, France, the U.S., the UK and Israel.  But of course Israel has kept their mouth shut...so they just make everyone guess...and every one's guess is that those smart Jews have the whole "missile thing" figured out.

Also watch for Pakistan to try and launch a really big missile so that they can add their name to the elite club.  Remember that India and Pakistan have been in a continual war since 1948...so this big missile launch by India puts them a step up on Pakistan...and Pakistan has nuclear warheads, they just lack a big missile to launch them.
