What's All This Talk About the "God Particle"?

You haven't been able to turn on the computer for the past week without seeing an article about Higgs boson discovery. This discovery of the Higgs boson is helping scientist hone in on mass that they KNOW has to be there.  This mass is more commonly referred to as the "God particle."

So what's all the fuss?

When scientists look into the cosmos, they see the stars and planets and observe how they behave.  After observing them close up with telescopes for the past decades they have come to realize that just the gravitational pull of the the planets and stars in the universe CAN NOT explain how everything spins, rotates and orbits.  There HAS TO BE some other unseen mass out there that holds all the heavenly bodies from flying apart.  They have referred to this unseen mass as "dark matter" because it can't be seen with the naked eye.  This unseen matter is what is referred to as the "God particles".

Dark matter is basically a bunch of stuff, likely exotic physics particles, that we can't really see (hence its name) but we know is out there. Astronomers realized a few decades ago that galaxies should be spinning faster than they are if the stars within them were the only things providing the gravity that holds them together. So, their theories go, there must be something — dark matter — slowing them down.

It turns out that stars are just the shiny hubcaps on each galaxy, outweighed by a factor of nearly 6-to-1 by all the dark matter out there. Dark matter even pulls itself together through gravity. For example, the journal Nature last week reported that a dark matter cloud gravitationally connects two clusters of galaxies, called Abell 222 and Abell 223. This cloudy filament stretches over 11 million light years between the clusters and weighs 98 trillion times as much as our sun.

Now, let's put on our biblical goggles to see what this might all mean.  Remember when Elisha and his servant were surrounded by enemy forces and Elisha prayed that God would open the eyes of his servant?  What did the servant see?  Angelic forces riding in chariots with horses of fire FILLED THE SKY and were protecting them.

How much did all these angels, horses and chariots weigh?  Why couldn't anyone else see them?

2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

The book of Daniel tells us that in the Last Days knowledge will increase.  When you realize that in the last 10 years, knowledge has quadrupled and we can now keep track of every human being on earth using a $900 laptop purchased at Best Buy....when you realize that we now ALL carry phones that will ring anywhere on earth if we have the right service....when you realize that those same phones can pull up videos, news articles and photos and have them beamed through the air to the palm of your hand...and when you realize that the GOD PARTICLE has been discovered by digging a 16 mile long tunnel under the ground of Switzerland and shooting atoms at each other and exploding them at the speed of light in hopes of seeing into God's realm.......you really have to wonder if we are in the Last Days.

Science is finally fixing its eyes on the unseen things....something that Paul told us to do over 2000 years ago.

Funny how that is....
