Pakistan Shuts Off YouTube

The news that Pakistan is shutting off YouTube is probably a good thing.  Lord knows there are 50,000,000 videos on YouTube that thousands of Muslims could find offensive.  The Lord also knows that once those Muslims get offended they can get whipped into a riotous lather pretty darn quick...and then stuff gets burned and people start dying.

New Delhi: The Pakistan government has blocked popular video-sharing website YouTube for not removing a video made in the United States which mocks the Prophet Mohammad and has enraged the Islamic world. The website will remain suspended till the anti-Islam film is removed.

"Blasphemous content will not be accepted at any cost," Prime Minister Raza Parvez Ashraf's office said in a statement.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, around 700 links of the anti-Islam film had already been blocked after several complaints were received. "Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has proactively blocked and vigorously preventing all access to anti-Islamic video placed on worldwide web via YouTube with the name of Innocence of Muslims," the statement said.

Rallies across Pakistan over the film intensified today, with thousands taking to the streets, burning US flags and an effigy of President Barack Obama.

Maybe Egypt, Syria, Libya, Iran, Jordan and every other Muslim country should also consider banning YouTube.  Maybe they should just consider banning the entire Internet....because what happens when they start finding all the porn?....they may get REALLY offended!!
