Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Is there really anything good going on in the Islamic world?

Syria is butchering women and children and will soon collapse.  Egypt has been over run by Muslim Brotherhood and may soon go bankrupt and collapse.  Lebanon is tenuous.  Jordan is going to be swamped by 700,000 Syrian refugees and also by thousands of Palestinians looking for a better life, and will not have much luck in Jordan.  Saudi Arabia is a mess.  Mali is a mess.  Somalia is a mess.  Libya is a mess.  Sudan is a mess.

The messy list continues to basically every Muslim nation.

So why would anyone join the Organization of Islamic Cooperation?  What could they possibly have to offer?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Cairo on Tuesday, marking the first visit to Egypt by an Iranian president since Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, Egyptian television footage showed.

Egypt's Islamist President Mohamed Morsi gave Ahmadinejad a red-carpet welcome on the tarmac at Cairo airport, shaking the Iranian's hand and exchanging a kiss on each cheek as a military honor guard stood at attention.

Ahmadinejad, who is on a three-day visit, will attend an Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference in Cairo and will hold talks with Egyptian officials, Iranian media said ahead of the trip.

The trip follows a visit by Egypt's Islamist President Mohamed Morsi to Iran in August last year, when the two leaders agreed to reopen official embassies.

Tehran broke off relations with Cairo in 1980, a year after both Iran's revolution and Egypt's peace agreement with Israel.

The trip is likely to be closely watched by Sunni Gulf nations, chief among them Saudi Arabia, who is staunchly opposed to Iran's regional policies and deeply wary of the Shiite nation.

Egypt's fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails, has signaled that relations with Iran could one day be upgraded to full diplomatic ties. The president himself, however, has stressed that the security of the Sunni Gulf nations, of which Egypt has relied upon for financial aid to help prop up its faltering economy, is directly linked to Cairo's own.

Well, isn't that special that the Shiite Persian leader, Ahmadinejad, is going to have some great meetings with the Sunni Egyptian leader who just happens to be a member of a recognized terrorist organization.

Can I just offer an idea at what MAY BE the point of agreement that all attenders will agree on at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation?....the destruction of Israel and the need to kill Jews.

Isn't that lovely.
