Only a Few Will Find It

Matthew 7:14

But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. -Jesus-

I wonder how many of you are like me in your thought process as you reflect on these words...specifically the word "few"?

Do you find yourself at a hockey game, the beach, the mall, the grocery store, etc... looking at all the people there and wondering how many of them started their day with devotions to Jesus Christ?

How many of them read their Bibles regularly and believe it to be the inspired Word of God?

How many are concerned about discovering their gifts and making disciples for Jesus Christ?

How many are aware that SOMETHING BIG is getting ready to take place on planet earth?

How many are excited for the trumpet call and the voice of the archangel calling us up into the clouds to meet Jesus Christ?

How many are so in love with this world and so clueless on the UNSEEN THINGS that they will be just like the people during the days of Noah?

Matthew 24
37 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. 39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes."  -Jesus-

Do you find yourself wondering those things frequently....or am I all alone with these thoughts?

Your words remind me of the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18. Scary really how close you sound to the Pharisee. Perhaps you should bend your head down in repentance like the tax collector, then you won't notice how wretched others are.

Luke 18:9-14
9 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed[a] thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ 13 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I guess I'm not really sure how you arrived at that conclusion that I sound like a pharisee from Jesus' words about "few will find it."?

Maybe you are a new reader and haven't read anything else I have written?

I'm not noticing how wretched others are...I'm noticing how clueless they are to the spiritual things happening all around them...just as I was clueless until the Lord saved a wretch like me.

"For the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark: and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away." -Jesus-

As you look around at all the distractions Americans have with big houses, 2nd homes, cars, jet skis, sporting events, American Idol, computer distractions, free porn, etc... we have become an entertainment driven, self absorbed, selfish society that appears to have forgotten and ignored the Great Commission.

"The harvest is at hand and the workers are few."

How about you anonymous? Is your heart breaking for all the lost souls all around you? Are you excited for the Lord to return...yet torn because some of your family memebers and loved ones don't know the Lord?

Are you amazed at how quickly our society is unraveling and how quickly the whole thing could collapse? Are you troubled by how many "Christian" denominations don't preach the whole word of God...but have instead resorted to loud music and short homilies to 'entertain' their attendees...and send them all home as lost as they were when they came...and maybe NEVER DELIVER the Gospel message to the Lost Sheep?
