Good News Coming From Egypt?

Let's review;
Egypt had a strongman dictator named Mubarak.  During the Arab Spring some protesters showed up and demanded that he step down.  Obama dilly-dallied and ended up saying something stupid like, "The people of Egypt deserve their freedom!"...and with that, Mubarak got thrown out.  Now, enter the Muslim Brotherhood who were well organized and ended up winning the first free elections in Egypt.  Of course the Muslim Brotherhood has the destruction of Israel, America and the imposition of Sharia law right in their manifesto...so we know these dudes are Muslim extremists who do not know the definition of PEACE.  The military stood on the sidelines and watched Mubarak get pulled down.  Now one year later the military goes in and throws out the Muslim Brotherhood and its elected president by the name of Muhammad Morsi.  When some people protest the overthrow, the military shoots dead some hundreds of people...basically telling them to shut the heck up!!  Of course what the military did was referred to as a Coup-de-tat...but never mind that.

So is this all GOOD NEWS or BAD NEWS??

Well, for now we are going to call it GOOD NEWS!!

Why?

Because the General of Egypt's Military has been very cooperative with Israel in identifying terrorists. Also, he has told Hamas in Gaza that if they go after Israel that Egypt's military will cut them off at the knees.

Now today we read this in the headline news;

An Egyptian court has banned the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates and ordered a seizure of the movement’s assets in a dramatic escalation of a sweeping crackdown that has already put its leadership and thousands of its supporters behind bars.

Monday's ruling could cripple the Brotherhood’s extensive network of social service provision across the country, potentially affecting millions and striking at the heart of the organization's broad support among the Egyptian public during the decades when it was blocked from participation in the political system.

Since former President Mohamed Morsi was overthrown in a July military coup, the Brotherhood and Egypt’s wider Islamist community have faced an unprecedented wave of repression, backed by a popular sentiment that the Brotherhood’s year in power had been disastrous and that its supporters are turning to terrorism.

Over eight decades, the Brotherhood developed a reputation as a benevolent ally of Egypt’s economically marginalized communities. But this was severely undermined during Morsi’s year in office as the economy nosedived and Brotherhood members were dragged into dirty political battles, and service provision was often concentrated in swing-vote areas.

According to Steven Brooke, a research associate with the Center for the National Interest and an expert on the Brotherhood’s medical provisions, the extent to which Monday’s ruling will affect Egypt's most vulnerable hinges on the level of enforcement. Brotherhood-affiliated hospitals treated more than a million cases in 2011, he says.

“There are other Islamic organizations that may be able to pick up some of the slack,” Mr. Brooke says, “but no matter how you slice it, if the regime decides to truly end these organizations, many Egyptians will feel the repercussions.”

As Egypt’s military-backed interim authorities seek to forge ahead with fresh elections, they are reversing key changes made during Morsi’s tenure. Egypt is likely to completely rewrite the constitution adopted under Morsi, a spokesman for the committee amending it said on Sunday. The document had been widely condemned for failing to guarantee human rights, especially those of women and religious minorities.

Egypt has a wonderful promise in store for it at some point in the future (we are guessing it will be fulfilled after Christ returns to set up his kingdom on earth)

Isaiah 19:21
So the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the Lord. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them.

Isaiah 19:23-25

In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together
In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth.
The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”

BUT....they are first going to endure a lot of trials and tribulation;

Isaiah 19:16-17
In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the Lord Almighty raises against them.
 And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the Lord Almighty is planning against them.

So let's all keep our eyes on Egypt, because she is a NAMED PLAYER in the Last Days and certainly she is now on stage for all the world to see.

And most importantly, keep listening for that trumpet call!
