Pope Francis Assures Atheists

In our previous post we mentioned that many prophecy watchers believe that the Vatican is going to play a role in the ONE WORLD RELIGION that the Bible says is coming.

So what would we expect to find in a one-world-religion?  The first word that comes to mind would be INCLUSION.  Everyone is included!  All paths lead to god!!  If it feels good to you...then do it!!  "God doesn't make junk"....so if he made you, you are just doing what god created you to do!!  Just follow your heart!!

That sounds awesome!!  So if men are created for sex...then why have we been limiting ourselves to one woman that we call "wife"?  Why have we been denying ourselves for so long?  Make love...not war!!  My conscience feels great!!!  My heart feels free!!!

2 Timothy 4:3

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

So it shouldn't surprise us when we see some recent comments by the Pope that push the world towards the belief that even atheists are under God's mercy....so long as they listen to their conscience!

In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences.

Responding to a list of questions published in the paper by Mr Scalfari, who is not a Roman Catholic, Francis wrote: “You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.

“Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

In July, Francis signalled a more progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”

So let me get my heart around this.....if I'm an atheist and my heart and conscience tell me that my behavior is OK...then I'm gonna be cool with the god that I don't believe in?  I like it!!

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Jeremiah 17:5
This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.

Jeremiah 18:12
But they will reply, ‘It’s no use. We will continue with our own plans; we will all follow the stubbornness of our evil hearts.’”

NOW PAY ATTENTION TO THIS VERSE AS YOU PONDER THE POPE'S COMMENTS about atheists following their conscience....

Jeremiah 23:17
They keep saying to those who despise me, ‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’ And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’
