Michelle Bachmann Calls for 3rd Temple

We all should know that Solomon built the first Temple in Jerusalem.  That got destroyed by the Babylonians after Daniel and his friends were hauled off to what is now, Iraq.  Then the books of Ezra and Nehemiah tell the story of how the Jews started coming back after 70 years in exile and rebuilt the Temple and the walls around Jerusalem.  The 2nd Temple is commonly referred to as "Herod's Temple" because king Herod had much to do with making it grand.  This 2nd Temple was standing when Jesus was on earth.  When he told his disciples that "Not one stone will be left standing"...he pointed to this Temple.

The 3rd Temple will be built in the Last Days...and this is the Temple that the Antichrist will sit in and declare himself to be God.  This will happen 3 1/2 years into the 7 year peace agreement that the Antichrist will organize between Israel and her enemies.

When this happens...Jesus tells the future Jews who will witness this event to "run!"

Today we have a congresswoman, Michelle Bachmann, who knows her Bible well.  She is saying the 3rd Temple should be built.

At the recent Manhigut Yehudit Dinner in New York, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann called for the Holy Temple to be rebuilt on the Temple Mount.

This is the first time I can recall that a member of Congress and a former candidate for the Presidency called in no uncertain terms for the building of the Temple pronto. It would be a miracle if Congress not only passed Legislation to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem but also passed a Bill granting total and unencumbered sovereignty of the Temple Mount to Israel.

In my conversations with past and possibly future Presidential Candidate Governor Mike Huckabee I have asked if indeed he would allow Israel to build at the very least a synagogue on the Temple Mount, and the Holy Temple itself if conditions were ripe for such a move. He was "asked" similarly by Rabbi Eliezer Melamed (I was present) as reported by Boston Globe Reporter Matthew Kalman stating, "We hope under Mike Huckabee's Presidency, he will be like Cyrus and push us to rebuild the Temple and bring the final Redemption." Governor Huckabee responded, "You have imposed upon me another significant role, to train the Jewish People to love Israel. You're going to ask a Baptist to do that?"

I believe, in my heart of hearts, that, indeed, if the conditions were aligned correctly,as President, he would give the green light to such a move.

It is also my firm belief that the Temple will be rebuilt with the help of the President of the United States at some future time. It is always important to remember that the State of Israel came into being in the modern era by way of President Harry Truman. It is always appropriate to thank America for such an incredible Event in our History. This has been the prototype of the very special relationship America has for Israel. It makes perfect sense that a truly friendly President will allow Israel to do what it should have done and could have done after the 1967 War but missed the opportunity to do so.

As Jerusalem Day approaches for the 47th time it would be worth at least thinking about a Temple on the Temple Mount by the 50th Anniversary. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann deserves tremendous credit for going public with her wishes and changing the narrative for the Jewish People. There are others who will come forward. The Final Frontier is here. It is up to all of us to make it a reality.

Of all the Conservatives on Capital Hill in D.C., one of the most hated and mocked has to be Michelle Bachmann.

Jesus told us to not be surprised when the world hates us...because it hated him first.

The 3rd Temple WILL BE BUILT!  It's just one more sign that shows us the lateness of the hour.

Let's all remember to be busy about the Lord's work today.

In John 2, Jesus says CLEARLY that he is the true temple. Unfortunately, I think Michele reads the OT Scriptures the same way the Pharisees and anti-Christ Jews did/do. While the first two temples were literal and real in themselves, they merely served as a "type" or pointer to the ultimate fulfillment/reality of Christ...who is the true temple. He says as much. Sadly, anyone who denies that Christ is the true temple denies what he did on the cross and in his resurrection. Gnashing of teeth await such folk.

John 2:19-22
"19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,c and will you raise it up in three days?” 21But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken."

Praise God the third temple has already been built, and it will never be destroyed.

Hey Anonymous, not sure what part of this you don't understand...so let's try this again...

Yes, JESUS is the only way that any man will see salvation. So let's all be in agreement on that. Anybody who has ACCEPTED CHRIST'S work on the cross will immediately have the Holy Spirit indwell him and will be marked forever as a child of God. Amen!!

That being said there will be signs and prophesies that WILL BE FULFILLED before Jesus returns and many that will be completed after He returns to rule and reign on David's throne for 1000 years.

The prophet Daniel clearly told us in chapter 9 that the Antichrist will "confirm a a covenant with many for one seven. (7 years) In the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing OF THE TEMPLE he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out him." That temple that Daniel speaks of will be the 3rd temple...which the Jews have everything already cut and shaped to build. Daniel IS NOT TALKING about Jesus' body here....so you are clearly misunderstanding something.

So yes, the Jews are getting ready to build another Temple in Jerusalem on The Temple Mount....because they haven't accepted Christ...and prophecy says IT WILL HAPPEN. The Antichrist will sit in it halfway through the GREAT TRIBULATION and declare himself to be God.

So this has nothing to do with OUR salvation...as I believe we will already be gone when Christ comes to snatch His bride in the Rapture.

But certainly this has SOMETHING TO DO with watching the signs of the times...which Jesus CLEARLY told us would be important.

"What I say to you I say to everyone; "Watch!" Jesus said this in Mark 13.

"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand--then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains." Jesus- Matthew 24

So anonymous...yes, the Jews and anyone else who haven't accepted Christ are headed for a really bad eternity...but that has NOTHING to do with the signs that Jesus told us (his followers) to watch for...and the coming 3rd Temple that the Jews will use to sacrifice during The Great Tribulation is ONE OF THE SIGNS that Jesus and Daniel told us to watch for...so that we won't be surprised by Jesus' coming for his bride.

"But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief." 1 Thess. 5:4 Nope! If the rapture happened this VERY DAY, I would not be surprised...because the signs he gave us are EVERYWHERE!

"But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I come to you." Jesus- Revelation 3:3

Jesus wants us watching the signs of what he told us to watch for...and the Jews building a Third Temple is CLEARLY one of them.

Hope this helps you understand what this discussion about Jewish temples is all about. Also please understand that this 3rd Temple will also be destroyed probably very close to the time of Christ's return to rule for 1000 years.

Thanks for your response, but it doesn't help me at all. Sorry. I read the Old Testament the same way that Jesus taught his disciples to read it... i.e. it was all about himself. The New Testament tells us more clearly what was spoken of in the OT. Conversely, Pharisees (and dispensationalists) read the OT as if the New Testament was never written.

Luke 24:25-27, 44-45
"25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and ALL the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in ALL the Scriptures (i.e. OT) concerning himself. 44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures."

John 5:39-40, 45-47
39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
45 “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I believe Jesus not you. Also, your interpretation of Daniel 9 could not be more wrong. The covenant spoken of (vs. 27a) was the new covenant in Christ, which reached its fulfillment/reality on the Cross. Verses 26b and 27b refer to he/them that would destroy the temple. It’s called symbolic parallelism, a literary device commonly used in the Bible. Daniel sealed up prophecy, the NT reveals the fulfillment in Christ.

Jesus is already seated on David's throne, according to Acts 2:25-36 (but I'm sure you've managed to completely turn that passage on its head too :)). Peter takes David’s message that one day God would seat one of his descendants on David’s throne, and links it to the resurrection of Christ. Peter does not punt it forward another 2,000+ years. This is not just a minor difference in eschatological views…it’s the difference between understanding who Christ is and what he FINISHED (not suspended) on the Cross, and NOT.

I’m sure you will rant away. But I hope that at least some of your readers will contemplate the aforementioned comments, then diligently search the Scriptures asking the Holy Spirit to guide them. When one sees Christ on every page of Scripture, they become so clear and life changing.

Just curious, when would you say Daniel 9 will be fulfilled? Before, during, or after the Tribulation and/or Millennial Kingdom? Don’t answer too quickly. :)

Hi Anonymous, don't take this the wrong way, but I believe Jesus more than you.

When Jesus says there will be an abomination that causes desolation IN THE TEMPLE and confirms what Daniel spoke of...I believe He is telling the truth.

You can spiritualize the entire Bible away if that's what you want to do...I believe it means what it says.

When Micah said the Messiah was going to be born in Bethlehem....we look for a baby born in Bethlehem...we don't try to make it mean something else.

When Daniel said Messiah would be cut off after 62 periods of 7 years...that's exactly what it means!!...and that's exactly when Jesus was crucified.

So if Jesus was sent the first time to FULFILL EXACTLY the prophecies he was meant to fulfill during his first advent....WHY IN THE WORLD would we not expect the rest of the prophecies to be fulfilled EXACTLY as they are written...during his 2nd advent?

So you can't have it both ways...you can't have literal fulfillment and then switch to spiritualizing everything else...it makes no sense.

Your passage from Luke 24 doesn't back up your argument at all...JESUS CONFIRMS THE LITERAL FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY in that passage and then asks the people why they are all so slow to understand. In the same way, if he came back tomorrow for his bride in the Rapture...how many people would be clueless as to what was happening...and Jesus might say, "Man, you guys were sound asleep to all the things the the prophets and me were telling you to watch for! Why so slow to understand? I MEANT EXACTLY WHAT I SAID!"

So of course, you can pray for me that I will finally understand all the things you claim to understand...and I will pray for you that you can read scripture clearly and let it mean what it says.

The Apostles creed says, "...He rose again from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead." Hmmm....so you are taking exception to that?

So I'm quite sure you will rant away at how the Apostles creed got it all wrong about where Jesus is currently seated....but hopefully some of the readers will start to figure out how preterism makes NO SENSE at all. And if it makes NO SENSE...it is very close to NONSENSE. : )

Listen we can disagree all we want about the Last days and how they will play out...but you aren't going to convince me and I'm not going to convince you...so as long as you aren't worshiping the WRONG Jesus...we will one day soon have all sorts of time in eternity to discuss the awesomeness of Jesus and what he did on the cross.

Peace. : )
