Elton John Says Jesus Would Support Gay Marriage

Elton John is one of the most famous people on planet earth.  He ranks right up there with Mick Jagger and Oprah.

Yes, that is a sad commentary about WHO the world decides is famous.

For those of you who don't know...Elton is gay...and of course he thinks that ALL OF US, including Jesus, should celebrate his homosexuality.

(CNN) -- In the same-sex marriage debate, Elton John believes he knows where Jesus would've stood.
The musician, who plans to marry his partner David Furnish next year, talked to Sky News on Sunday about how pleased he is with Pope Francis and how he wishes the Church of England would show greater support for his message.

"The new Pope has excited me so much by his humanity," John said. "He's stripped it down to the bare bones and said it's all basically about love and taking everybody in, inclusiveness. And that has to be encouraged by the Church of England."

So when it comes to issues such as vows of celibacy for Catholic priests and gay clergymen being able to marry, John said the church needs to catch up with the times.

"These are old and stupid things, and the church hierarchy might be up in arms about it -- the traditionalists -- but times have changed," John said. "We live in a different time. If Jesus Christ was alive today, I cannot see him, as the Christian person that he was and the great person that he was, saying this could not happen.

"He was all about love and compassion and forgiveness and trying to bring people together, and that is what the church should be about."

As far as coming together for John's nuptials, fans shouldn't expect a large affair.

"It'll be very quiet and very off the cuff," John said. "But we will (marry), and I think it's a great opportunity to take advantage of the new laws, and to celebrate it."

Ummm...Sir Elton?....Jesus IS ALIVE TODAY!!   Most certainly he would NOT contradict scripture!

God is NEVER CHANGING.  He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  He is NOT going to change the definition of sin just because our sick society is different than it was 50 years ago.

Notice as well that Sir Elton used the word, "inclusiveness."  He thinks it's all about taking everybody in!!...no matter what kind of lifestyle they lead!!  Take them into what, Sir John??  A social club where songs are sung about love and potluck is served??

Clearly, Sir Elton has not read the words of Jesus...the part about the wide road that leads to destruction and how many will be on it.

Jesus, please help us to have a broken heart for all the lost people who don't know you.  Help us share the salvation story with love and compassion to all the lost souls that you put us in contact with.  Help us to remember that we are ALL sinners and that we all fall short of your glory.  Thank you for coming and taking our place to be punished for our sins so that we may have eternal life with you.  Amen.
