U.S. Birthrate Hits All Time Low

People used to have lots of kids for a variety of reasons. Some considered children to be blessing from God.  Some were Catholic and told that birth control was not allowed...so maybe had more kids than they even wanted.  Some people took God seriously (and some still do) when he told His followers to "be fruitful and multiply."  And still others, throughout history, have always known that having lots of children means there is a good chance that some of them will survive to take care of you in your old age.  God's social security plan...if you will.

Well all that has changed here in America and other Western nations.

US Birth Rate Hits All-Time Low

The U.S. birth rate reached an all-time low in 2013, as the number of babies born in the country declined for the sixth straight year since the peak in 2007, a new report finds.

The country's birth rate dipped to 62.5 births per 1,000 women between ages 15 and 44, according to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That is 10 percent lower than the birth rate in 2007, which was 69.3 per 1,000 women, and a record low since the government started tracking birth rates in 1909, when birth rate was 126.8.

In 2013, there were 3.93 million babies born in the U.S., down less than 1 percent from 2012, and down 9 percent from 2007, when a record-breaking 4.32 million babies were born in the U.S.

Do you know what group of people are having lots of kids?

Muslims...but thankfully there are only a few million Muslims in America...but France, UK and other European nations are going to figure out real soon what a 4 to 1 birth ratio means.

Do you know what happens to people groups who don't have enough kids to even replace themselves?

They collapse.

Japan will most likely be the first hi-tech country to see what happens when a nation has 2 old people for every 1 working person.  The math simply doesn't work.

The Russian have a negative birth rate.  They are simply too depressed to think about kids.

Think about the USA and our Social Security system.  It was built on the assumption that 30 workers would support one retired person.  Today we find that our pyramid has gone upside down and that soon we may have 2 workers payroll deductions going to support one retired worker.

So what is the main reason people quit having kids?

"Too expensive!"

"Too time consuming!"

"The government will care for me....who needs kids?"

"I have a lot of things I want to do.  Climb the corporate ladder, travel a lot, date lots of women, get some nice cars and toys....kids would just slow me down!  Plus, who really wants to get married anyway?  That's all so old fashioned!"

Here is what we do know.  In the next 30 years, white people will be the minority in America. Blacks and Hispanics and other brown people will be the majority.  So with black people having 70% of their babies out of wedlock and boys being raised with no daddy....do you think our society is going to get better....or worse?

God designed THE FAMILY to be the foundation cornerstone of society.  When the family falls apart....the society will fall apart.
