An Interesting Thought

This may have dawned on a lot of you guys a long time ago, but it just dawned on me recently.

Think about this and tell me what you think:

The Jews didn't understand that Messiah would come at two separate times, first as the Suffering Servant/Lamb of God and second as the Ruler/Judge/Deliverer.  Because of this failure to understand, they simply weren't ready to accept Him.

Today, I find many "Christians" who fail to understand that Jesus will return at two separate times, first for His bride (all who have the Holy Spirit indwelling them) and second as the Ruling King to sit on His throne in Jerusalem to rule and reign for 1000 years.

Now think about how many "Christians" we run into every single day who simply aren't ready because we have failed to understand His two-part return...and simply aren't ready?  Maybe because we have fallen asleep....

Matthew 25
25 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

MAYBE...just like the foolish ones who had their lamps but nothing IN THEM are like today's "Christians" who sit in the pews every week, going through the motions but yet they fail to realize that they don't have the Holy Spirit IN THEM?

When the trumpet sounds and the Bride of Christ gets called into the clouds...it will be too late for the "foolish ones" to rush out to try and fill themselves with the Holy Spirit?

2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
