Syria Fires Missile at Israel and Plays With Fire

What the heck do you do if your Syrian kingdom is falling apart, you have killed thousands of your citizens, the world hates you and there's a good chance you will end up being tried as a war criminal one day?

Hey....here's an idea....why not fire a missile at Israel?

Ummmm.....bad idea Mr. Assad.

Bashar Assad Flexes Muscles With Israel and Plays With Fire

Assad means lion in Arabic, but the current version of the family is really a paper tiger. His father was the subject of a derogatory line in Lebanon at the time of Syria’s occupation there, ‘’Assad Fi Lubnan and Arnab Fi Julan-A lion against Arabs in Lebanon - and a rabbit against the Jews in the Golan’’, but by all accounts Hafiz Assad was the formidable ruler of the Syrian domestic scene. Bashar Assad, on the other hand, is a nominal ruler of a nominal state. Syria today is a name on the map, a member state of the UN, but not a sovereign state. In the current civil war, lasting for more than six years, with nearly half a million dead and ten million refugees out of twenty two million people, Syria broke all Guiness book of records about being a failing state. No less than seven foreign armies are fighting there, including US, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Iraqi Shi’ite militias , Lebanese Hizballah and ISIS. Not even Somalia in the hey days of its civil war could boast such a dubious record, and add to that hundreds of local militias. Yes, also a small army of Alawites still obeying the Alawite in chief, Bashar Assad. Just yesterday, a Russian[maybe Syrian] plane bombed a Sunni mosque in the occupied city of Aleppo, killing scores of Sunni worshipers, thus proving yet sadly again how terrible it all is over there.

With all that happening, the last thing on earth that Bashar Assad needs, is to open a new front to himself, this time against Israel. Assad is a cruel ruler, an unscrupulous man when dealing with his Sunni enemies in Syria, but he is not stupid. Starting troubles with Israel is not something that may be HIS OWN real interest, rather it is the interest of Iran and their Lebanese wing, Hizballah. Some context is needed here. For some time , the Israeli PM Netanyahu has warned that Iran is planning to turn South Syria into a battle zone with Israel. The Israeli leader said it above every roof and went to see Vladimir Putin about that. He knew what he was talking about, as yesterday rockets were fired from the Syrian side of the Golan towards the Israeli Jordan Valley, until now a peaceful and flourishing area. In response to that blatant act of aggression, the Israeli air force attacked a position of Assad’s army in Palmyra, located in Central Syria. Syrian anti aircraft missiles were fired, and an Israeli Arrow missile intercepted one of them . All this did not prevent the Assad propaganda machine from claiming, that one Israeli aircraft was brought down. A lie, of course, and the Syrian nominal President was handed a very sharp warning as to what can unfold from now on. The Israeli air force attacked Hizballah targets in Damascus and South Syria, now extending their range of operations further into Syria, and all this a week after Netanyahu meeting with Putin. Whether the Israelis have Russian tacit approval to operate deeper in Syria’s territory is not clear, but they do it nevertheless, and Bashar Assad should understand the message. He is still the formal ruler of Syria, and he cannot claim to be such, and at the same time allowing Iran and Hizballah to attack Israel from Syrian territory. He should also realize, that none of his palaces are safe, and all this should lead to a decision by him to use whatever limited influence he still has over the Iranians in order to prevent South Syria from being another front against Israel. He can talk as much as he likes about ‘’Zionist aggression’’, but actions is something else.

Soon enough, the Israelis will have to make a decision about South Syria, and it seems very likely that such a decision will be to remove by force ANY hostile power from there, be it Hizballah, Iran or what is left of Assad’s own army there. There are seven foreign armies meddling in Syria, so there can be an eight one. It is NOT a scenario favored in Jerusalem, where policy makers still remember the Lebanese quagmire of Israel, and will not be happy to get engaged in a Syrian quagmire. Still, a new front to Israel in the Golan is totally unacceptable, and short of unilateral and under the circumstances, unavoidable Israeli action, Vladimir Putin is the one who should explain facts of real life to his stooge Bashar Assad , and more importantly forcefully demand that Iran and Hizballah will pull out of Syria altogether, and as a first step, from South Syria. It is one hell of a game with fire, and when fire is left uncontrolled, the effects can be devastating.

Amazing!  There are already 7 armies shooting and killing in Syria!
including US, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Iraqi Shi’ite militias , Lebanese Hizballah and ISIS

Now please notice that Russia, Iran and Turkey are mentioned....which ties into the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38.

Also please remember Isaiah 17 and how Damascus will one day be made into an inhabitable pile of rubble..and it appears to be caused by a military reason...maybe a nuclear bomb?

We have NO IDEA when Christ will come for His bride.  We also have NO IDEA how long the time period may be between the rapture of the church and the revealing of the Antichrist who confirms a peace agreement with Israel which ushers in THE TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLE (also know as the 70th Week of Daniel)....BUT as we look at the hatred brewing all over the world, the focus of the world on Israel, the droughts, famines, wars, rumors of war, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions....and yet we still see millions of Americans buying big trucks, racking up credit card debt, building big homes, planning lavish weddings while almost totally ignoring their Bibles and/or the worship and fear of The Lord....we would NOT BE SURPRISED if Jesus came to snatch His bride away at any time now.

If you are excited about hearing the trumpet blow and meeting Jesus in the clouds...that's super cool!

If, on the other hand, you are scared or anxious about meeting Jesus at any minute....maybe it would be a good time to ask yourself WHY you are scared to leave this world and meet your Savior?  Is there something here you love MORE than you love His glorious appearing?
