IDF Decides Offense is the Best Defense
We have a long-time reader and fellow watcher who has submitted some insightful things we want to share.
Below is his commentary about the following J Post headline and here is the link to the article; IDF unveils new defense strategy along Israel's borders | The Jerusalem Post
Thanks Tom for your commentary below.

The IDF has now formalized what has long been whispered behind the veil Israel’s survival will no longer be entrusted to fences, treaties, or deterrence. From this day forward, every border must have a buffer zone, and every threat will be answered not with warning, but with preemptive strike. Defense through offense is now doctrine.
This marks the end of an era.
The strategic shift is absolute. No more illusions of containment. No more reactive postures. The high command, under Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, has declared in no uncertain terms that October 7 was a watershed — not just of national trauma, but of military doctrine. The walls didn’t hold, so now the fire moves outward.
Geopolitical Consequences:
This is not just about Gaza or Hezbollah. This new posture implies:
A de facto redrawing of borders, temporary or not, “buffer zones” mean control.
Continuous kinetic disruption, the enemy will not be allowed to rest, regroup, or reinforce.
The end of diplomatic patience, even so-called peaceful neighbors (Jordan, Egypt) are now viewed through the lens of future instability and Iranian influence.
But here’s the deeper truth:
This is not peace. It’s not even real defense.
It’s managed war, the belief that survival can be secured by forward attrition, that offense can buy calm.
But scripture has shown us: peace will be taken from the earth (Revelation 6:4). And when they shall say “peace and safety,” then sudden destruction (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
Prophetic Pattern:
Israel now seeks security not in God, but in iron.
Ezekiel 38: Israel will be dwelling securely, without bars or gates, but not by the Spirit, by force.
Isaiah 17: Damascus falls, not as isolated war, but in the context of regional collapse.
Psalm 83: The confederacy gathers, not because Israel is weak, but because she is alone, surrounded, and hardened.
This doctrine, to strike first, to control land for safety, may fulfill the very conditions that trigger the next great war.
The buffer becomes the bait. The fire spreads. The hooks are being set.
