Many Paths

This article was in the Star Tribune today so maybe many of you caught it, but if you didn't you can access it here; http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/faith/20657059.html?page=1&c=y

The article is reporting on a Pew Research study that finds that the vast majority of Americans believe in eternal life. But they also believe that there are many ways to get there...which is in direct conflict with the words of Christ. "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me". The article goes on to say that with the premium we place on tolerance in today's society, we have become more tolerant of believing that maybe we aren't right...or maybe Christ didn't REALLY mean what he said.

This is very sad and points to how far we are sliding into apsotasy. The church has lost it's first love...which is a love for Christ.

When the Church in America comes under persecution like that in China, then we'll see how strong our faith really is. Are we willing to go to jail for our belief in Christ?

You are correct. I hope and pray the the Lord will save us from this time of trial and deliver us from evil. If you look at how watered down the gospel message has become in the this country, I would not place a big bet that many of us are ready for persecution. I think of the parable of the house built on rock vs. the house built on sand.
