Gotta Have Faith

We have talked many times about the fact that the U.S. money system is backed on the "full faith and confidence in the U.S. government." When that faith vanishes....so will the value of the little printed pieces of paper that we like to call, "dollars".

Here is some confirmation that we aren't the only ones who are seeing this glaring reality.

In order for a financial system to be able to function properly, it is absolutely essential that the general population has faith in it. After all, who is going to want to invest in the stock market or entrust their money to big financial institutions if there is not at least the perception of honesty and fairness in the financial marketplace? For decades, the American people did have faith in Wall Street. But now that faith is being shattered by a string of recent revelations. It seems as though the rampant corruption on Wall Street is seeping up almost everywhere now. In fact, some of the things that have come out recently have been absolutely jaw-dropping. The truth is that the corruption on Wall Street is much deeper and much more systemic than most of us ever dared to imagine. As the general public digests these recent scandals, it is going to result in a tremendous loss of faith in the U.S. financial system. Once faith in a financial system is lost, it can take years or even decades to get back. So how is the U.S. financial system supposed to work properly when large numbers of people simply do not believe in it anymore?

Remember what the Bible tells us....have faith in NOTHING but God.

Isn't it interesting that most Americans have more faith in those little pieces of paper dollars than they do in the Creator of the universe? Isn't it interesting how much time and effort we Americans spend chasing after those little pieces of paper...attempting to make sure we have enough of them stuffed into a barn so we can live out our days golfing and playing tennis in Florida? And yet we CLAIM to be a Christian nation!

Jesus told us to, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and it's righteousness and all the things you need will be given to you." (my paraphrasing)

How many of us seek after the little pieces of paper FIRST instead of the Kingdom? Doesn't that put us in direct conflict with Jesus Christ? How can we claim to love Him but not obey His words?

Jesus also said, "The road to destruction is wide and MANY will be on it. The road to life is narrow and FEW will be on it. Stay on the narrow road."

He follows that up by saying that a day was coming when many people would stand before him and say "Lord, Lord! Didn't we prophecy in your name and cast out demons in your name?" And Jesus will answer them and say, "Depart from me because I don't know you."

That is a terrifying passage because the people who are standing in front of Christ BELIEVED THAT THEY KNEW JESUS....BUT CHRIST DIDN'T KNOW THEM!!

Have we all tested ourselves lately (as the Bible commands) to make sure the Holy Spirit is dwelling in us? Let's all do that again...because the days could be drawing short....and none of us want to hear the words from Jesus telling us to, "depart from me."
