JFK Quote on Israel

Since I was born the year that JFK was killed, I have no idea if I would have voted for him.  However, some of his quotes make him sound a lot like a Conservative sounds today.

I ran across this one today concerning Israel that he made in the early 1960's;

Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom.
