Pew Research Examines Muslim Attitudes

Of course the liberals, supported by the media, keep insisting that there are just a few Muslim extremists.  They go on to say that Islam is a religion of peace and that most of its followers are wonderful folks, no different that the Methodists or Catholics you currently have as neighbors.

So it that true?

Nope.

Ten of millions of Muslims around the world believe that suicide bombings are justifed.  That is a lot of folks....and even if it's only 10%....10% of 1 billion is 100,000,000 Muslims who want to have worldwide Sharia law and believe in doing ANYTHING necessary to make that a reality.

Can 100,000,000 make a mess of the world?

Yep...we just saw two of them in Boston who brough the city to a standstill and cost the USA $billions of dollars to hunt them down.

Now today we finally have some Pew Research to turn to as we try and discern what really is happening within Islam and the Muslim world.

Washington, D.C. — A new Pew Research Center survey of Muslims around the globe finds that most adherents of the world’s second-largest religion are deeply committed to their faith and want its teachings to shape not only their personal lives but also their societies and politics. In all but a handful of the 39 countries surveyed, a majority of Muslims say that Islam is the one true faith leading to eternal life in heaven and that belief in God (Allah) is necessary to be a moral person. Many also think that their religious leaders should have at least some influence over political matters, and many express a desire for sharia – traditional Islamic law – to be recognized as the official law of their country. But the percentage of Muslims who say they want sharia to be “the official law of the land” varies widely, from fewer than one-in-ten in Azerbaijan (8%) to near unanimity in Afghanistan (99%).

Additional findings include:

• In most countries surveyed, majorities of Muslim women as well as men agree that a wife is always obliged to obey her husband. At the same time, majorities in many countries surveyed say a woman should be able to decide for herself whether to wear a veil.

• At least half of Muslims in most countries surveyed say they are concerned about religious extremist groups in their country, including two-thirds or more of Muslims in Egypt (67%), Tunisia (67%), Iraq (68%) and Indonesia (78%). On balance, more are worried about Islamic extremists than about Christian extremists.

• In most countries where a question about so-called “honor” killings was asked, majorities of Muslims say such killings are never justified. Only in two countries – Afghanistan and Iraq – do majorities condone extra-judicial executions of women who allegedly have shamed their families by engaging in premarital sex or adultery.

• Relatively few Muslims say that tensions between more religiously observant and less observant Muslims are a very big problem in their country. In most countries where the question was asked, Muslims also see little tension between members of Islam’s two major sects, Sunnis and Shias – though a third or more of Muslims in Pakistan (34%) and Lebanon (38%) consider Sunni-Shia conflict to be a very big problem.

• Support for making sharia the official law of the land tends to be higher in countries like Pakistan (84%) and Morocco (83%) where the constitution or basic laws favor Islam over other religions.

I would suggest you read the whole article, but please note that even Muslim are more concerned about Muslim extremists than they are Christian extremists. 

Ummmm.....question....what is a Christian extremist?  Have we heard about any Christian extremists out killing folks in the name of Jesus lately?

Also interesting....it would appear that Afghanistan and Iraq are the two Islamic nations that have the most proponents in favor of killing a woman outside the court system if she dishonors her husband....and these are the two nations that USA has poured our blood and treasure into for the past decade.

Has Satan been sucking us dry as we tumble toward the abyss?  Did he know ALL ALONG that when the USA said we were in a "battle for hearts and minds" in those two nations...we had NO CHANCE of getting those hearts and minds because they were already firmly entrenched in Satan's camp?

The battle with Islam is not a battle against flesh and blood.  No!  It is a battle against the evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realms...and these can't be defeated with guns and bombs.  They can only be defeated by men wearing the full armor of God and brandishing the Sword of Truth.

A few days ago we blogged about the U.S. Military not allowing the Sword of Truth to be carried by anybody anymore...even the "Christian" Chaplains.  So what chance does the U.S. Military have in accomplishing it's mission of fighting Satan with guns and bombs?

But please, please, please remember that IF YOU HAVE MUSLIM friends, neighbors and co-workers, it is a COMMAND from our Savior that you befriend them, love them, care for them and pray for them.  Only Christ's love can break through the darkness and the shroud that Satan has placed on Muslims.
