A geologist has said that if the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts, it would destroy most of the United States, all but wiping the country off of the map. Dr. Jerzy Zaba is importantly not predicting that the volcano is going to erupt soon, but simply stating that it does have the power to destroy humanity and life as we know it.

Hmmm...
I wonder if that could be a reason the US does not appear in Biblical prophecy? I'll bet too that, that much dirt, rock and ash in the upper atmosphere would block out a lot of the sunlight and even many of the stars. Maybe like a third???
The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.
