Why is Trump Being Charged in Criminal Case?

 I think most folks know that rich and powerful men have lots of opportunities with the ladies.  I’m sure Trump was no different.  When it comes to Trump bedding a porn star I’m sure that’s not a rare thing either.  Stormy does have a job that involves sex for money so pretty sure Trump didn’t entice a neophyte and take advantage of a school girl.  Also didn’t Bill Clinton have sex with an intern and pay her settlement money?  Yes he did, but there is a difference in paying legal settlement money versus what Trump did and how he did it.  Is it a witch hunt as Trump claims or is he a rich and famous man who believes he is above the law?   Below is a simple explanation of what Trump did and why the prosecution believes it was illegal.

In New York state, falsifying business records is a misdemeanor carrying a penalty of up to a year in jail. However, if it can be demonstrated that the reason for the falsification was to commit some other crime, as prosecutors say is the case here, it becomes a felony punishable by up to four years in jail.

That means that prosecutors have two orders of business in their bid to secure a conviction against the former president. First, they must establish the fraudulent nature of the business records which underlie the alleged scheme. Secondly, they must demonstrate that Trump’s intention in falsifying the records was related to the 2016 presidential election.

That, in the simplest terms, is the prosecution’s case against the former president.
