U.S Condemns Israeli Plan

Question:  should Jews be allowed to build houses in Jerusalem?  Ummmm.....let me think about that....the population of Israel is growing, home prices are going through the roof because supply doesn't equal demand, and Jerusalem is a major Israeli city....so I'm gonna say, "Yes!"

Well that's not how the U.S. government is seeing it.

U.S. condemns Israeli plan for new construction beyond Green Line

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that Israel's decision to build 1,100 homes in Jerusalem's contested Gilo neighborhood, which lies beyond the Green Line, is counter-productive to reviving peace talks with the Palestinians.

"We believe that this morning's announcement by the government of Israel approving the construction of (1,100) housing units in East Jerusalem is counter-productive to our efforts to resume direct negotiations between the parties," Clinton told reporters at a news conference.

"As you know, we have long urged both sides to avoid any kind of action which could undermine trust, including, and perhaps most particularly, in Jerusalem, any action that could be viewed as provocative by either side," she added.

With this whole thing about blessings and curses issued by God...it kind of concerns me to see headlines about U.S. condemning Israel.  Of course we know that the Arabs want East Jerusalem for the future capital of the new nation of Palestine....and the world desperately want so give them their own nation, so of course the world is going to view the Israeli announcement of 1100 new homes a "provocative action".

I wonder if those same people view thousands of missiles launched into Israeli cities as provocative?
