Disaster Because of Idolatry Coming to America?

I recently asked in a separate blog post if America is worshiping the false god of Mammon?  It becomes very obvious to even a casual observer that we are, and yet  God told us clearly to HAVE NO FALSE IDOLS...or false gods.

Before the Jews were hauled away to Babylon, the prophet Jeremiah warned them that unless they repented and changed their evil ways they were going to be destroyed!  But of course the people of Judah would have none of it!


Jeremiah 44
2 “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You saw the great disaster I brought on Jerusalem and on all the towns of Judah. Today they lie deserted and in ruins 3 because of the evil they have done. They aroused my anger by burning incense to and worshiping other gods that neither they nor you nor your ancestors ever knew.4 Again and again I sent my servants the prophets, who said, ‘Do not do this detestable thing that I hate!’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their wickedness or stop burning incense to other gods. 6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out; it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins they are today.

15 Then all the men who knew that their wives were burning incense to other gods, along with all the women who were present—a large assembly—and all the people living in Lower and Upper Egypt,said to Jeremiah, 16 “We will not listen to the message you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord! 17 We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm. 18 But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have had nothing and have been perishing by sword and famine.”

Did you catch that?  They were worshiping the false goddess called the Queen of Heaven and things seemed to be going really well for them!  They had plenty of food and plenty of security from outside forces!  And since they refused to repent of their wicked ways....God destroyed them all...except for a tiny remnant.

"Boy Dennis....neat story!  But you see, America is a CHRISTIAN-GOD-FEARING nation!  Good grief we have a church on practically every corner of every town in America!  Yes we may worship Mammon by spending most of our time gathering money and material goods....but lots of us go to a church on lots of Sunday mornings!  Heck!...I just put a $5 bill in the plate last Sunday!  What does this story have to do with any of us in America?  Things have never been better!  The stock market is at record highs, banks are loaning money for houses faster than we can build them and every Cub, Walmart and Target is filled to the brim with every consumer good and food that man can desire!"

Here's a fact straight from the mouth of God...."I NEVER CHANGE!  I AM THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW!"

"So wait....you are telling me that you believe that God could destroy America simply because we worship another god called Mammon, and we abort babies by the millions, and we ordain perversion in the highest places and we export porn, drugs and filth to all corners of the earth and we scoff at God and scoff at Christ's return?"

Think about it.....

"OK Dennis...I did just think about it...and that's crazy talk!!  This is America!!"
