Poland Willing to Host US Nukes

I'm guessing if you lived in Europe and saw what was happening in Ukraine, you might not trust Putin when he says he has no plans on taking other parts of Europe.  And then when Putin seems willing to threaten the West with the use of nukes, maybe you would reconsider hosting USA's nukes in your European back yard?

In a significant blow to Vladimir Putin's efforts, Poland has announced its readiness to host nuclear weapons on its territory. This move comes in response to Russia's recent decision to station its nuclear weapons in neighbouring Belarus, escalating tensions in the region.

In an interview published Monday in the Fakt tabloid, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that Poland is prepared to host nuclear weapons from other NATO members. This is seen as a direct counter to Russia's relocation of nuclear weapons to Belarus.

"Russia recently relocated its nuclear weapons to Belarus," Duda said, referencing the December announcement by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. He added: "If there were a decision by our allies to deploy nuclear weapons within the nuclear sharing also on our territory in order to strengthen the security of NATO's eastern flank, we are ready."

Duda stressed that Poland is aware of its obligations within the 32-member NATO alliance, which includes the United States, the United Kingdom, and France as nuclear powers.

Poland's willingness to host nuclear weapons aligns with its strong support for Ukraine as it battles against Russia's full-scale invasion, now in its third year, reports the Express.

If you look on a map of Europe you will see that Belarus sits right in between Russia, Ukraine and Poland.  And Belarus is very pro-Russian.  So yes, if I was Poland I would want to be doing everything I could to make me undesirable to someone like Putin who may, or may not, have designs on conquering other territories.
