Turkey and Israel Darken

We know Turkey will join Russia, Libya, Iran and others in an attempt to destroy Israel. Read Ezekiel 37-38. It seems the relations are souring fast between Turkey and Israel which will ultimately confirm that God's word is perfect.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with Turkish media, "Unfortunately we have seen that the (Israeli) people have voted for these (rightist) parties and that makes me a bit sad. Unfortunately the election has painted a very dark picture."

$100 Bills 600 Miles High

That's how much money we are talking about in the stimulus plan. So the answer that Obama and brains have come up with to stimulate the economy is to print more money and take out more loans. Hmmm...that doesn't seem like the best answer for a government that is already wallowing in so much debt, but hey!...who want's to explain to people that 4-5 yrs of severe pain is what they can expect UNLESS we do this deal?

Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., spoke of a stack of hundred-dollar bills 689 miles high, and of bills wrapped side-by-side that would encircle the Earth nearly 39 times. House Republicans predicted that the package's costs — with interest on the necessary borrowing — could total more than a trillion dollars, enough money to buy about 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for every American.

Certainly the earth is being shaken...and the high men are coming down from their lofty towers. I wonder if God has shaken this tower before...when it was called the Tower of Babel?

Gold

As the paper money of nations goes further into turmoil, many have asked me about buying gold. The argument for gold is that is has "never been worth nothing". That may indeed be true. But I will remind my faithful readers that if times continue worsen, the government may, in fact, confiscate your gold. "Impossible!", you might say. I'd like to think so, but sadly, it's been done before.

Thus, early in his presidency, on April 5, 1933, Roosevelt signed Executive Order 6102, which ordered people to turn in their gold to the government at payment of $20.67 per ounce. While there were some exceptions for dental use, jewelry, and artists and others who used gold in their jobs, most people were not covered. (Individuals could hold up to $100 in gold coins, but the government confiscated the rest.) Furthermore, the president’s order nullified all private contracts that called for payment in gold, something that led Sen. Carter Glass of Virginia to declare that the whole thing was “dishonor.”

And yes, we are currently repeating the same mistakes that led to the depression of the 1930's.

Change is Coming!

I guess we probably all got sick of hearing the word "change" during the presidential elections. Humans are funny...if we aren't happy we want that changed right now. We don't even ask if the "change" is going to be for the better or for the worse...we naively assume that all the change will make things better than they currently are.

One thing that appears likely to change is that the U.S. government is going to have to take over the entire banking system. Why?? Because they are underwriting the risk on the whole system using FDIC insurance. And if they have all the risk, they should be allowed to drive the boat.

It's amazing that in the next year we may see names like U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo, and WAMU all owned by the Federal Government. And how efficient and well run are the other entities that the Federal Government runs? Can anyone say Social Security?

Israel Finds Gas...Lots of it.

We read the reports last week that Israel found a big pile of natural gas off their coast. Now we read that the pile is about 60% larger than what they first thought. This is a pretty big deal for a few reasons.

1) If the gas is valued at $billions, Israel only has 7 million people and that will make their per-capita wealth grow exponantially at a time when the rest of the world is in financial meltdown.

2) It further sets the stage for Israel to have substantial wealth that the other players of Ezekiel 38-39 will start to covet...and ulitmately gather in an attempt to steal it.

3) Israel will become energy independent so will be able to bomb the Arabs and not worry about their energy supplies being disrupted. This could pave the way for the fulfillment of Psalm 83.

Iran and the Last Days

Many of you have heard us talk about the shiite belief that the 12th Imam is soon to return to earth. It is a belief that Mr. Ahmadinejad has and it is why the prospect of Iran having a nuclear bomb is unacceptable. After three plus years of telling the world that's what he believes...maybe the mainstreet media will start to wake up and realize why Iran is so dangerous to the stability of planet earth. The Wall Street Journal is telling us all about it;

Many Iranian leaders believe that the 12th Imam will return in the Last Days, which will be marked by global chaos and conflict, at the end of which Muslim believers will have conquered the infidels and the mullahs will rule the world. According to medieval Shiite texts, a message announcing the Mahdi's return will be carried to the four corners of the world so that none will be able to say he did not know that the Last Days were soon to arrive.

So if Mr. Ahmadinejad actually wants global chaos so he can help out this satanic spirit, why would we allow him a nuclear warhead when just last week Iran demonstrated they already have Inter-Continental-Ballistic-Missile (ICBM) capability? Good question. I hope Mr. Obama and Hillary Clinton put on their most polite talking voices when they go to Iran to talk about peace. Maybe they can convince him that the 12th Imam is simply a satanic voice and that he really needs to accept Christ to be saved? That would be a fruitful outcome...but I won't hold my breath that Obama and Hillary will share the gospel with anyone in Iran.

Also, remember that Iran (Persia) is not going anywhere until they fulfill the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy. And if Iran and Russia are both running out of money, it could be the final straw that makes them desparate enough to join forces and invade Israel to claim booty and wealth.

U.S. Power is Weakening

Caroline Glick is a conservative columnist who writes for the Jerusalem Post. In her article she states;

Bluntly stated, the world that will challenge the next government will be one characterized by the end of US global predominance. In just a few short weeks, the new administration of President Barack Obama has managed to weaken the perception of American power and embolden US adversaries throughout the world.

Countries like Pakistan, Iran, Russia have all viewed Obama's attempts at friendship as a sign of weakness. Those countries live in a neigborhood where if you don't show your strength every day, you will quickly be run over. So when they get post cards with smiley faces from Obama and Biden talking about getting rid of 80% of our nuclear arsenal and talking to Iran without preconditions...you can surmise that we will soon be run over as the forces of the world (which are majority anti-American) look to fill the power vacuum of U.S. global power.

What a sad, sad story that the history books will write about America. Such promise, hope, freedom, liberty and wealth that the world have never seen before...all brought down like a flood as we drowned under a sea of greed, debt and apathy.

Israel's Election Day

The voter's in Israel are going to the polls in the next few hours to cast their votes for what could prove to be a very pivotal election. The enemies are gathering, anti-semitism is erupting all over the world and all eyes are on Jerusalem.

Get 'em While They're Hot!

Many of you have heard me say that we, as a country, spend more money than we take in. So in order to finance that desire, we have to borrow money from other people and/or countries and then promise to pay it back...at some set point in the future. The Gov't accomplishes this by selling U.S. Treasury Bonds through an auction process.

Get this;
The U.S. Government announced last Wednesday (2/4/2009) that it will hold 8 auctions per year to borrow money through the issuance of 30 yr Treasury Bonds, double the 4 auctions per year that currently take place. (Source; Treasury Department)

So what may this indicate?...maybe that the U.S. Government is going to try and sell all the crappy paper that it can before the investors of the world catch on (more than they already have) to the fact that the U.S. is going to be hard pressed to make good on it's repayment promises.

Can anyone say the word "default"?

Even Billy Says So

In a big shot in the arm for all of us prophecy watchers, even Billy Graham and his evangelistic ministry is going to focus on End Times in 2009. This is awesome because of his huge popularity and his incredibly good name. Maybe 2009 will be when a huge awakening will happen among the people who profess to be followers of Christ. Maybe people will finally understand that Christ told us to snatch people from the fire given our short time on earth.

Peter quoted the OT Joel, when he said, "In the last days there will be scoffers who say, 'Where is the promised return?'" This statement is obviously applying to Christ's believers and NOT non-believers...since non believers would not even have the thought process in place to ask that question in the first place.

Australia Burning

Yes, I know there have always been brush fires, droughts, and natural disasters...but you have to wonder if the frequency is increasing as the earth continues through it's birth pangs in anticipation of the nearness of Christ's return.

Australia’s worst bushfires on record left at least 84 people dead and may burn for days as winds fan flames across southern Victoria state.

“Out there it has been hell on earth,” Victorian Premier John Brumby said yesterday in a televised address. “These fires though are not finished. We have strong winds across the state and the fires will continue to burn for days and communities will continue to be threatened.”

I don't believe that it is God who is sending all these catasrophes...but I do believe that it is His spirit that restrains all the evil, destruction and chaos that Satan would prefer. Furthermore, I believe that he allows the world to see glimpses of what this planet will look like when His spirit (the restrainer) is withdrawn....which precedes The Tribulation. It is a wake up call for all...because He loves us and would prefer that all would come to Him before it's too late.
