Iowa Flood Will Add to Food Woes

We, from the midwest, know that Iowa is a major producer of corn. We also know that corn is used in some way, shape or form in practically everything we eat. That includes feeding cattle, chickens and hogs. With food shortages already causing panic and riots throughout the impoverished world...how may this 500 yr flood worsen this situation? Check out a few of these paragraphs from the LA Times;

"Iowa Gov. Chet Culver on Friday declared 83 of Iowa's 99 counties disaster areas as rivers either reached or were expected to hit historic levels -- flowing over soil already saturated from an extremely wet spring."

Or this one;

"Miles of fields with fledgling corn plants have been inundated, their green sprouts swallowed up by water the color of coffee. The rising floodwaters lapped at the bottoms of highway billboards."

With miles of Iowa corn underwater, the world's food problems will certainly multiply.

Another Big Earthquake

Wow! When Jesus said there would be earthquakes in various places and they would increase in frequency, it's hard to see his words and not equate them with what we are seeing today. Japan had a 7.2 quake yesterday, and that's quite a shake. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,366926,00.html

Thankfully, first reports are saying it happened in a rural area so there isn't a large loss of life.

500 year Flood

I'm sure you have all seen the devastating pictures coming in from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It's a mess of epic proportions. So much so that calling it a "100 yr flood" simply doesn't do it justice. In the city planners wildest dreams, they had no idea that flooding of this magnitude was possible, so they have rolled out a new term...the "500 yr flood". Certainly God continues to roll back all the confidence in infrastructure that man has built for himself. I believe this is happening as the Day of the Lord approaches so that more of mankind will look to God to understand where their ONLY confidence should be placed.

Muslim Brotherhood

Most of us probably aren't familiar with the Muslim Brotherhood, but we should be. Why?....because the organization is at the forefront of trying to implement Sharia law across the entire world. Here is a brief paragraph of what they are striving for;

"A Muslim individual, Muslim family, Muslim nation, Muslim government and Muslim state should be able to lead Islamic governments, should be able to unite the dispersed Muslims, should be able to regain their honor and superiority, and should be able to recover their lost lands, their usurped regions and their occupied territories. Then it should be able to raise the flag of Jihad and the call towards Allah until the entire world is benefited by the teachings of Islam."

Remember that 1 John 4:1-3 tells us to test the spirits;

1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Since Islam DOES NOT acknowledge the diety of Christ and certainly DOES NOT acknowledge that He died and rose to atone for our sins...we have to heed the Word of God and understand that Islam is a lie. And we know who the father of all lies really is...and so did John the Apostle.

Evil in the World

The author does a great job of explaining why The West refuses to understand the concept of "evil people". The new thinking of the western world is the belief that people are inherently good and really do just want to all get along. As the author points out, the exact opposite is true. So will we wake up in time? Or will the world be doomed to repeat it's mistakes from WWII....the last time Satan almost succeeded in destroying the Jews.

"Then, as now, the initiative lies with the enemies of the West. Even today, when we are engaged on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, there is little apparent recognition that we are under attack by a familiar sort of enemy, and great reluctance to act accordingly. This time, ignorance cannot be claimed as an excuse. If we are defeated, it will be because of failure of will, not lack of understanding. As, indeed, was almost the case with our near-defeat in the 1940s."

Back in Town

Hello all,
I was out of town and away from all electronics since last Friday June 6. It appears it has been quite a week to miss with more storms and more floods coming at an ever quickening pace. I will now resume my attempt to post something interesting at least once per day.
