Arabs Seek Palestinian State

There really is no common ground on which to find peace with Israel and the Arabs of Palestine.  There will be wars and rumors of wars right up to the day Jesus returns and sets his feet on the Mount of Olives.

Israel is saying they will accept some form of a Palestinian state if they agree to NOT have a military and if they agree to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.  Of course the Arabs are saying there can't be any Jews in their hoped for Palestinian state...but of course they will insist that there HAVE TO BE ARABS in the Jewish state of Israel.  Quite frankly, it's unbelievable.

So with no desire of Hamas to make peace with Israel and even recognize Israel's right to exist...they plan on doing an end around and going directly to the United Nations....a hot bed of Anti-Israel sentiment.

(Reuters) - The Arab League decided on Saturday to seek full U.N. membership for a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital, ignoring opposition from the United States and Israel.
The Arab League's peace process committee, meeting in Doha, said it would request membership for the state of Palestine at the U.N. General Assembly's meeting in New York in September.

"The committee decided to go to the United Nations to request full membership for Palestine on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital," it said in a statement.

The 1967 borders refer to Israel's frontiers as they stood on the eve of the 1967 Middle East war in which it captured the Gaza Strip from Egypt and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, from Jordan.

National Geographic Promotes Alien Invasion

Fresh from the files of, "you can't make that up!" comes a good one.

National Geographic has announced a television show to air on Sunday May 22 examining the possibility of an alien invasion of Earth. The show features the realistic depiction of Earth’s military forces and major cities being overwhelmed in an alien shock and awe campaign. It raises the question of whether the public is being psychologically conditioned to accept the possibility of hostile extraterrestrial life visiting Earth. What Obama Did to Israel

Of course we have all heard by now that Obama gave a speech last week and suggested that Israel use the 1967 borders as a start to peace negotiations with the Arabs.  He backpedaled a few days later and said of course it will include "land swaps"...but it matters little because either way, he is the leader of America and is talking about dividing Jerusalem.

Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer had this to say;

Every Arab-Israeli negotiation contains a fundamental asymmetry: Israel gives up land, which is tangible; the Arabs make promises, which are ephemeral. The long-standing American solution has been to nonetheless urge Israel to take risks for peace while America balances things by giving assurances of U.S. support for Israel’s security and diplomatic needs.

For 21 / 2 years, the Obama administration has refused to recognize and reaffirm these assurances. Then last week in his State Department speech, President Obama definitively trashed them. He declared that the Arab-Israeli conflict should indeed be resolved along “the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.”

Nothing new here, said Obama three days later. “By definition, it means that the parties themselves — Israelis and Palestinians — will negotiate a border that is different” from 1967.

Obama’s response to this relentless Palestinian intransigence? To reward it — by abandoning the Bush assurances, legitimizing the ’67 borders and refusing to reaffirm America’s rejection of the right of return.

The only remaining question is whether this perverse and ultimately self-defeating policy is born of genuine antipathy toward Israel or of the arrogance of a blundering amateur who refuses to see that he is undermining not just peace but the very possibility of negotiations.

Holy blundering amateur!  The USA is being driven by a dude who has only read about statesmanship in a college textbook!  We are careening out of control and I'm not sure I see any other human in the passenger seat who is capable of taking over the steering wheel!

I'm sure glad Jesus has this whole thing managed.  If we didn't know that He did....our futures would seem pretty darn bleak.

U.S. More Likely to Default

We have been writing about Ponzi schemes for some time now.  Saying how Madoff and others have been a foreshadowing of the collapse of the largest Ponzi scheme EVER...the U.S. Government and its interaction with the Federal Reserve.

Today we find this headline;

While most of the focus has been on Greece and Eurozone sovereign debt issues, the not insignificant risk posed by a U.S. sovereign debt crisis increases by the day. The risk of a US default continues to rise which can be seen in the sharply increased cost to insure U.S. sovereign debt.


Risk of a U.S. default can be seen in the credit default swap (CDS) market. 1 year U.S. CDS has risen from 23 to 37 or by 60% in the last six trading days (see chart below). According to this measure, the U.S. is now more likely to default than Slovenia and Indonesia in the next year.

In the more liquid 5 year U.S. CDS, the cost to insure has risen by some 50% in the last week. The U.S. is considered more likely to default in 5 years time than South Africa, Malaysia, Panama, Brazil and Colombia.

The squabbling between Democrats and Republicans last week as the U.S. debt ceiling of $14.3 trillion was being reached did not help sentiment towards U.S. debt.

Nor did former Soros’ partner Stanley Druckenmiller, the billionaire former-hedge fund manager and legendary investor, comment in the Wall Street Journal that the Federal Reserve’s bond purchases are a fraud and a “Ponzi scheme”.

Did you catch that??  The USA has more chance of defaulting on their debt payments in the next 5 years than South Africa, Malaysia, Panama, Brazil and Columbia!!  Are you even kidding me??  Panama!!??

Holy squander!  How sad.  We were called to be salt and light.  This nation was blessed because we blessed Israel and we had a high percentage of Holy Spirit filled citizens.  But as a nation, we have done EXACTLY what scripture warns us NOT to do.  We are perishing for lack of knowledge and for worshipping false Gods and for being disobedient and most recently, for our president suggesting that we divide God's land....end of story.

Jesus, please come quickly.  I'm kind of a wimp and pretty sure I don't want to be around to see this great nation implode.  I'm almost positive the 50% of us who rely on government programs like Social Security, Food Stamps, Medicare, Section 8 housing, unemployment benefits, etc...  will not take it well when these programs start to bounce their checks.

EU Expresses Willingness

As pressure continues to mount on Israel, the EU may be about to cross another line in the sand.  The EU has said that it would be willing to work with a Palestinian Unity government.  What does that mean?  Fatah and Hamas have recently signed some sort of truce and are now holding this truce out to the world that together they would be able to govern a new Palestinian state.

So we have Hamas, a recognized terrorist group, and Fatah joining hands.  Remember also that Abbas is the current leader of Fatah and he was one of the organizers of the Jewish Olympic athlete massacre in Munich in 1972...so he also would be defined as a terrorist.

Now pay attention to this paragraph;

Abbas' Fatah faction reached a unity pact with Hamas, a militant group that is registered as a terrorist entity by the EU, earlier this month. Hamas has said it is unwilling to change its charter, which calls for the "obliteration" of Israel, but is prepared to hold back on armed resistance for the time being.

The Palestinian unity agreement comes as a prelude to Palestinian plans to seek full recognition of statehood from the UN general assembly in September, crossing another red line for the Israeli-US alliance.

Well that sure is nice of Hamas...to hold off on obliterating Israel until AFTER they achieve statehood.  How thoughtful!

I would say we had best hold onto our hats for the rest of 2011.  If the world starts recognizing a Palestinian state and goes totally around Israel to get it done....there will be war.  Also as the pressure continues to build  on Israel to divide God's land, we may expect to have more tornadoes, droughts, floods, crop failures and general mayhem as the world sticks its fingers in God's eye.

Money Value Collapses

Things aren't going well in Belarus...and we wonder if this is additional foreshadowing of what may be coming to a neighborhood near you and me.

MINSK — A sharp devaluation of the Belarussian ruble has spread panic across the country, with people rushing on Wednesday to buy dollars, euros, toasters and canned goods — anything that will not lose its value as quickly as the national currency.


Belarussians swept store shelves and lined up for entire days at currency exchange offices in a desperate attempt to protect their savings from the country's sinking fortunes.


Confidence in the ruble, whose value is fixed by Belarus, has dropped for weeks amid fears over the country's finances and the country's lack of support from its neighbors, both the EU and Russia.


To make matters worse, there is a physical shortage in the country of dollars and euros, which companies and households desperately want to own to protect themselves from a worse devaluation in the future.


Andrei Krylevich, 42, has spent a week in lines outside an exchange booth in downtown Minsk without a chance to buy a single dollar. The computer company he works at has sent its employees on an unpaid leave, and he urgently needs to pay back a $9,000 loan to a bank.


"In just one month, I have virtually turned bankrupt, the entire country has gone bankrupt," Krylevich said. "Even during the Soviet collapse we didn't go through such nightmare."

Wow!  Running for canned goods in a panic...trying to buy ANYTHING that will not lose its value as quickly as their paper money.  Also did you catch the word CONFIDENCE?  Did you see how the confidence is evaporating over fears about their balance sheets?  Did you notice poor Andrei?  He got sent on unpaid leave from his computer company and can't get any money out of the bank to pay a loan...and now he is facing total bankruptcy.

Could this happen in America?  Now only could it....but it will.  We just don't know when.  But we do know the triggers that will cause have been set up.

So let's all just keep watching American Idol...let's fall back to sleep and dream of the good old days when we could buy anything we wanted....using borrowed money with tiny monthly payments.  Everything is going to be OK.....

Norway: Purveyor of Anti-Semitism

Many of us in Minnesota trace our roots to Norway.  I know I do.  So what is happening in the land of our grandfathers?  Well for one thing they are rich on North Sea oil.  This is supporting quite a lavish lifestyle for most Norwegians and has supported their socialist society with little or no national debt.

I won't bother to look up the exact figures but suffice it to say that Norway has turned into a VERY secular society.  Very few would claim to be born again Christians.  Church attendance is very low.

So this next headline really shouldn't surprise us...it may sadden us, but it shouldn't surprise us.

THAT THE OFFER OF FREE LECTURES ON THE MIDDLE East conflict by Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, one of the most eloquent advocates of the Israeli case, was refused by three universities in Norway should come as no surprise. Besides being a substantial producer of oil and gas, the country is also a major purveyor of Israel hatred and anti-Semitism.

Several ministers of the Labor and Socialist Left governing parties have endorsed hate-inciting acts. The state TV and radio company NRK has an anti-Israel bias officially approved by the Broadcasting Council. There is a dominant anti-Israel attitude in the media and significant anti- Israelism in academia. Trade unions make periodic boycott calls. Some Lutheran bishops are major inciters. There is substantial anti- Semitism in schools.

In 2008, comedian Otto Jespersen urged his nationwide TV audience to remember “all the billions of fleas and lice that lost their lives in the German gas chambers, without having done anything wrong other than settling on persons of Jewish background.” There are also a number of true friends mainly among opposition politicians and parties, as well as pro-Zionist Christians.

This rare foreign criticism of Norway was followed by an interview in “The Jerusalem Post” with American author Bruce Bawer, who argued that Norway’s cultural elite has replaced its affinity “to the Soviet Union with sympathy for the great totalitarian ideology of our time: Islamism. Thus they romanticize Palestinians and despise Israel.”

He recommended that Norwegian Jews leave for Israel.

So it appears that Norway will most likely be one other country that will vote for the Palestinians to have their own state...and vote for Jerusalem to be divided to make room for their capital there.

Not May 21, but October 21

The billboard east of Buffalo, MN says, "Save the date!  Jesus is coming May 21, 2011".  Of course that didn't happen and all of us Holy Spirit filled folks are still here, so what does the man who made the prediction have to say for himself?

OAKLAND, Calif. – A California preacher who foretold of the world's end only to see the appointed day pass with no extraordinarily cataclysmic event has revised his apocalyptic prophecy, saying he was off by five months and the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.

Through chatting with a friend over what he acknowledged was a very difficult weekend, it dawned on him that instead of the biblical Rapture in which the faithful would be swept up to the heavens, May 21 had instead been a "spiritual" Judgment Day, which places the entire world under Christ's judgment, he said.

The globe will be completely destroyed in five months, he said, when the apocalypse comes. But because God's judgment and salvation were completed on Saturday, there's no point in continuing to warn people about it, so his network will now just play Christian music and programs until the final end on Oct. 21.

Unbelievable!  You just have to wonder what part of "No man knows the day or the hour, not even the angels in heaven"...that Mr. Camping doesn't understand?  How much clearer can Jesus get when he speaks of his coming to the clouds to call for His bride?

Finally, I had someone clarify for me yesterday that Mr. Camping is not a false prophet.  To be a false prophet he would need to coming forth with some new message that he claimed God gave him.  Mr. Camping is simply guilty of misinterpreting the Word of God.  He may sincerely believe that Noah's flood was in 4990 BC from something he claims to understand from the Bible....and that God will destroy the world 7000 years after the flood with a fire ball...but that does not qualify him as a false prophet.

If Mr. Camping is doing this for his personal financial gain, I'm guessing God will deal with him.  But if he is acting out of sincerity and a deep love for God and his Word...but simply has misunderstood....then we all need to cut Mr Camping some serious slack...because MOST people who claim to be Christians misunderstand and at some point misinterpret their Bibles.

Barely Seen Blurb

Today's Wall Street Journal had this tiny print blurb on page A6...right near the bottom;

Financial Disaster Near, State Treasurer Warns
Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford said massive debt has pushed Illinois to "the verge of a financial disaster".
Mr. Rutherford said Sunday he opposes taking on any more state debt.  Two major borrowing plans are on the table in Springfield.
Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn wants to borrow billions to pay the state overdue bills.  Another proposal would sell bonds to pay for construction programs.
Mr. Rutherford said Illinois' bond debt has nearly quadrupled over the past decade and now stands at $45 billion.
The Republican treasurer said that amounts to $10,000 for every household in Illinois.

Funny how the Democratic Gov. just wants to keep borrowing to pay the debts.  As we have said in the past, that's just like you and me taking out a new Visa card and using the cash advance to pay the payments on our MasterCard.  That only works for about a month...but it ultimately makes things worse.

I guess many of our leaders have forgotten the common sense saying of our great-grandparents, "If you find yourself in a hole...quit digging." 

Release the Prisoners!

What happens when states start to go bankrupt and can't pay their police officers, prison guards and prison expenses?  What happens when a society becomes so immoral that it has to imprison a large percentage of its population...so many in fact that they run out of rooms in their prisons...and since they are stone-broke they can't afford to build any more prisons to detain all the felons?

Answer;  THEY RELEASE THE FELONS INTO THE GENERAL PUBLIC!

And so goes California.....

Reporting from Washington— The Supreme Court, in a narrow 5-4 decision, has an upheld an injunction by a three-judge panel ordering California to release about 46,000 inmates -- more than one-fourth the state prison population -- over the next two years to relieve overcrowding.



The court said the state's prisons had "short of minimum constitutional requirements" and "needless suffering and death" have resulted.

Did you catch that??  They are going to release 1/4 of the prison population and will start with the "sickest" ones.  I guess on the one hand that makes sense...why should the State of California Prison System pay for Jimmy-the-felon to have $200,000 of chemotherapy treatment?  So they will let the felons go...and hope for the best!
 
We have been writing for the past few years about California being a foreshadowing for what is coming for the rest of us.  I would guess that Illinois will soon follow suit along with Arizona, Nevada, New York and the other handful of the "most-broke" states.
 
Can you smell The Tribulation coming?  Can you see how the love of most will grow cold?  Can you see a time coming when people will kill each other for another hit of meth or a loaf of bread?  Can you see a time coming when the police won't bother to show up when called upon because there won't be room to house a criminal anyway...so what's the use in arresting anyone?  Can you see a time coming when it will be "every man for himself"?  Can you see a time coming when a great society will crumble because they insisted on worshipping the Satanic god of Mammon and dismissed the God of Israel, Isaac and Jacob as a fairy tale?

Global Weirding

We have heard the term "Global warming" and of course "Global climate change"...but how about a new one?..."Global weirding" used by a climatologist to describe the crazy weather happening.

WASHINGTON, May 18, 2011 (Reuters) — Heavy rains, deep snowfalls, monster floods and killing droughts are signs of a "new normal" of extreme U.S. weather events fueled by climate change, scientists and government planners said on Wednesday.


"It's a new normal and I really do think that global weirding is the best way to describe what we're seeing," climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe of Texas Tech University told reporters.


"We are used to certain conditions and there's a lot going on these days that is not what we're used to, that is outside our current frame of reference," Hayhoe said on a conference call with other experts, organized by the non-profit Union of Concerned Scientists.


An upsurge in heavy rainstorms in the United States has coincided with prolonged drought, sometimes in the same location, she said, noting that west Texas has seen a record-length dry period over the last five years, even as there have been two 100-year rain events.

Biggest Shift EVER Recorded

In our continuing attempt to bring you the latest headlines reporting the words, "ever" and "never"....we have this one to add regarding the massive quake that devastated Japan a few months ago.

Japan's seabed shifted by as much as 79 feet (24 meters) in an east-west motion during the giant March 11 earthquake—the largest earthquake movement ever recorded, scientists say.

Of course there have been huge quakes before man had the instruments to measure these happenings, so we aren't saying it IS the biggest shift EVER...just the biggest one measured.


That being said, I believe this is just more foreshadowing of the huge quake that will take place when Christ returns to earth at the end of the Tribulation...and touches his feet down on the Mount of Olives.

Savage On Ezekiel

Many of you may have heard of the radio host named Michael Savage.  I have heard him a handful of times usually when I am driving late at night.  I believe his radio show is called, "The Savage Nation".  No doubt he is a conservative and I have NO IDEA where he stands in regards to Jesus Christ.

With that being said, he started reading Ezekiel 38-39 on his radio show recently.  Pretty interesting since we have talked and blogged about Ezekiel so many times...as have many prophecy watchers.

When President Obama called yesterday for Israel to pull back to the borders that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War – lines Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called militarily "indefensible" – top-rated nationally syndicated radio hostMichael Savage turned to theBible for a glimpse of the Middle East's future

"Ezekiel is predictive of what's going to happen," Savage said as he read from the Hebrew scriptures on the air. "There will be a war."

Savage said that with Obama's declaration, and others policy moves, the president is "laying the groundwork for a massive war against the Jewish people in the Middle East."
