Russian Jet Shot Down Over Syria

Again, any time you see Russia, Turkey and Syria all mentioned in the same article, it should scratch our prophetic interest.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the pilot ejected from the plane before it crashed but was later engaged and killed by terrorists. 

The successful downing of a Russian warplane by Syrian rebels is considered to be quite rare.

Is Trump Going to Present Peace Plan?

The Bible clearly tells us that when the Antichrist is revealed sometime after the rapture of the church, he will confirm a peace agreement that Israel has.  Logic would tell us that as we get closer to the final 7 years before Christ returns that the world should be clamoring for a peace agreement for Israel and the enemies that surround her.

For this reason, today's headline is prophetic.

Scoop: Trump may present peace plan even if Palestinians won't negotiate

The White House is considering presenting President Trump's Middle East peace plan even if the crisis with the Palestinian Authority continues and Palestinian President Abbas refuses to come to the negotiating table, senior U.S. officials tell me.

The bottom line: The U.S. officials say the administration won't impose on the Israelis or Palestinians to accept the plan, but may release it so the parties and international community can judge it at face value.

The officials said no decisions were made yet in this regard but stressed the president and his "peace team" are not ruling out this option.

One senior U.S. official told me:

"Since it's not done, we haven’t decided yet how we are going to put it forward and what happens if one of the sides isn't ready to come to the table. We are not there yet. But we are very optimistic that all relevant countries who want to support a peace agreement between the two sides are still waiting for our plan, want to work with us and realize we cannot be replaced. Despite all of the false reports about our plan, we are confident it will be beneficial to both sides and both peoples."

After Trump's Jerusalem announcement on December 6th, Abbas announced he would cut ties with the U.S. over the peace process. The Palestinians also boycotted Vice President Pence's visit in the region.

Abbas claimed Trump is not an honest broker and called his peace plan "the slap of the century".
Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said he will react to the Trump plan after he sees it but stressed he is ready to renew peace talks.

While I am tickled pink by many of Trumps decisions, I should mention that "making America great" is not going to heal what is infecting America today.  Only 4% of the millennial generation have a biblical worldview and 65% of "Christian" adults in America believe that Muslims, Buddhists, Catholics, Mormons and all the other folks in churches across America are all praying to the same God!

Certainly there is a famine happening in America.  Not a famine of food and water but a famine of the knowledge of the Word of God.

We may have our stock market soar to new heights and we may have more money in our pockets to buy more stuff....but this might only shove us further into the hands of the demonic god called Mammon.  Jesus warned us about worshiping this god of materialism and money....and it's hard to look at America and not understand that most Americans spend more time shopping for useless crap than they do interacting with Jesus Christ, the God of the Universe.

Russia Mocks US Fighter Pilots

Many of my readers age 45 and older can probably remember movies like TOP GUN and RED DAWN where Russia was our arch enemy and we Americans were plenty scared of a big, old war breaking out with them at any time.

Then the Soviet Union collapsed in 1989 and we wondered what we were going to do with the massive PEACE DIVIDEND we were going to reap because we didn't have anymore enemies of a serious nature to spend our war dollars on.

How times have changed....and now seem to be changing back.

Russia on Thursday made fun U.S. complaints about unsafe aerial encounters between their respective aircraft, and said U.S. pilots can solve the problem by staying away from Russia's border.

"The Aerospace Force will continue to maintain the reliable protection of Russian airspace,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a Thursday statement carried by state-run media. “Should American pilots, knowing this fact, fall into depression or succumb to any phobias, we advise the U.S. side to exclude these flight routes near Russia’s borders in the future, or return to the negotiating table and agree on their rules.”

That retort followed American complaints that a Russian fighter jet passed within five feet of a U.S. reconnaissance plane “flying in international airspace over the Black Sea” on Monday. The incident prompted rebukes from the Pentagon and U.S. diplomats.

“While the U.S. aircraft was operating under international law, the Russian side was flagrantly violating existing agreements and international law,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Monday. “This is but the latest example of Russian military activities disregarding international norms and agreements. We call on Russia to cease these unsafe actions that increase the risk of miscalculation, danger to aircrew on both sides, and midair collision.”

The encounter has geopolitical significance, beyond the immediate safety issue. The Russian Defense Ministry made clear that its fighters are engaging in such tactics in order to maintain their claim to Crimea, which Russian annexed in 2014.

“We would like to address the commander of the 67th Task Force of the 6th Fleet Bill Ellis with a reminder Crimea is an integral part of Russia,” the Defense Ministry statement said.

Western officials refuse to recognize Russia’s claim to Crimea, given that the region was partitioned from Ukraine in 2014. “We will never accept Russia’s occupation and attempted annexation of Crimea,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in December. “Crimea-related sanctions will remain in place until Russia returns full control of the peninsula to Ukraine.”

Prophecy watchers back in the early 1990's must have been reading Ezekiel 38 and wondering how in the heck that was ever going to happen given that Russia was now sitting in the bottom of the toilet wondering where their next ruble was going to come from.

And today those same prophecy watchers watch with amazement as the players of Russia, Iran and Turkey rise to the surface and come on stage with a surprising amount of capacity to inflict mayhem on any that they choose.

We continue to believe that Ezekiel 38 is going to be fulfilled sometime soon after the rapture...maybe when America collapses under the weight of so many missing people?...and these enemies of Israel see that that America is no longer capable of coming to Israel's defense.

Earth's Magnetic Poles May Flip Soon and Cause Serious Problems

I get a kick out of watching the leftists getting all hyper over man-made global warming and their lame ideas of how to "fix" what they believe is a problem.  But today they may have found a new problem that could make global warming seem like child's play.

Historically, Earth’s North and South magnetic poles have flipped every 200,000 or 300,000 years—except right now, they haven’t flipped successfully for about 780,000 years. But the planet’s magnetic field is at long last showing signs of shifting. Although there’s no way to know yet for sure, it could be gearing up to flip once more, according to Undark Magazine. And that possibility is raising new speculation about what that means for planetary life. 

Our planet’s magnetic field protects us from lethal levels of radiation from phenomena like solar rays. The dangerous particles never hit us directly, because upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere the magnetic field deflects them and forces them to move around, according to NASA. So the prospect of that field weakening, which it does when it’s getting ready to flip, is worrisome: It would leave us without sufficient protection.

The Earth’s magnetic field extends out from electrical currents created by the metals in its core, generating invisible lines that touch back down at the planet’s opposing magnetic poles. Cosmic radiation expert Daniel Baker, director of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, believes that the next pole reversal could likely render some areas of the planet unlivable, according to Undark.

That devastation could arrive through multiple avenues. The combination of powerful space particles, like unfiltered solar rays, cosmic rays and ultraviolet B rays (the stuff your sunscreen bottle warns you about), would smash through our battered ozone layer and lead us the way of the dinosaurs.

Wait...what??  No ozone to block the cosmic rays that could lead us into extinction like the dinosaurs?

That sounds bad....

Oh well.....they say it happens every 200,000 years....so it's probably going to be hard to blame this one on man-made global warming....since Adam and Eve were only created about 6000 years ago. 

Of course Bible readers aren't buying this latest calamity at all.  We know that the God of the Universe laughs at the folly and fanciful thoughts of all our intelligent men.  We know that as long as God says so there will be planting and harvesting on planet earth and that also the sun will keep showing up in our sky and life will continue pretty much as normal....until AFTER the rapture of the church.

Paving the Way for the Third Temple

There are some Christians who read Bible prophecy and say, "There isn't going to be any 3rd Temple in Jerusalem...because the Temple of God is now dwelling in us!"

I'm not sure where they get that idea because the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem has NOTHING to do with followers of Christ and has everything to do with the Jews who never accepted Christ and are yearning to implement animal sacrifice as atonement for their sins.

Today we find even more talk about the nearness of the 3rd Temple being built.

The Holiest Police in the World Paving the Way for the Third Jewish Temple

In order to secure US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to the Western Wall on Tuesday, the Israeli Police placed that area of Jerusalem on lockdown, closing off the Western Wall and its surroundings to both vehicles and pedestrians for four hours. However, in an extremely unprecedented move, Amit Branchuk, the police officer in charge of the Temple Mount entrance, went around to the roadblocks and personally accompanied any Jew who wanted to ascend the Temple Mount at that time.

Vice President Pence paid a short, 15-minute visit to the Western Wall on Tuesday but the security preparations effectively prevented anyone who wanted to pray at the Western Wall from doing so for several hours. For Jews who wanted to visit the Temple Mount, the security measures could have caused them to miss the small window of time allotted for Jews and other non-Muslims to ascend.

Much to the surprise of the visitors, Branchuk made a tour of the roadblocks, searching for people who wanted to visit the Temple Mount. Branchuk also accompanied those Jews to the Temple Mount entrance. When they arrived, they were pleased to see the compound was almost entirely vacant, removing any concern of there being large crowds of protesting Muslims.

Shimshon Elboim, a Temple Mount activist, praised Branchuk’s actions, telling Breaking Israel News that they were part of a growing trend in which the Israeli police, led by Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevi, are becoming more supportive and accepting of an increasing Jewish presence on the Temple Mount.

One day, after all the followers of Christ have been removed from earth via the rapture, the Antichrist will sit in the 3rd Temple and most likely will declare himself to be God.  Jesus tells the Jews of that day that they better run fast when they see that happen, because the Antichrist, whom the Jews will originally accept, will lay out a plan to kill them all.

All this news about a 3rd Temple should be one other sign to us that planet earth is fast approaching the Great Tribulation...a time that will be so bad that Jesus tells us NO FLESH WOULD SURVIVE IT if He didn't return at the final battle of Armageddon to cut those days short.
