Newt Warns of Power Outage Lasting Months

Four years ago we started posting on EMP's (Electro Magnetic Pulse) and how our electricity supply is America's Achilles heal.  Without electricity our entire civilization comes to a screeching halt.  Remember, an EMP could be caused by somebody detonating a nuclear bomb above our atmosphere OR it could be caused by a solar storm.

This past week we had Newt Gingrich, who was one of the most powerful men in our nation and also one of the smartest, saying some pretty interesting things about the danger in our electrical grid.

July 14, 2012 – WASHINGTON - After recent storms knocked out power for more than 3 million people in the middle of a record heat wave former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich decided to open up about America’s vulnerable power grid. In an opinion piece posted on The Washington Post Gingrich writes: “Without power, the comforts of home become worthless. You sit in the sweltering heat, realizing you are living in a box that, without electricity, is a trap. You pray for the “juice” to return before your groceries go bad. You either make do in the heat or find refuge with friends who have electricity.” Newt claims that the power grid is created in such a ways that doomsday-level damage could be caused if the United States were to be hit with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) strike or even a major solar storm. The former speaker is worried that a nuclear weapon detonated over the atmosphere of the continental United States could cause an EMP that would knock power out for months, perhaps even years. Gingrich also points to the Carrington Event of 1859, a solar storm that since that time has caused geomagnetic disturbances every 75 years. While we make think the possibility of a solar storm causing major issues is not possible in 1989 a space storm knocked out power to millions of people in Quebec for several hours. Several hours during a moment of attack is all it would take to leave the United States vulnerable to attack, not to mention disrupting telecommunications, transportation and general power. So what exactly could be affected? Newt Gingrich provides the following scenario: “Suppose that, rather than being a temporary disruption in our lives, the power outage lasted weeks or months, or even years. Consider what state all of us, from the richest to the poorest, would be in if we were still literally in the dark. Millions could be trapped in houses or apartments that were never designed for this climate without air conditioning. No cool air; months with no food shipments and every pharmacy shut down — no refills for life-sustaining medications.” -Inquisitr

I have to say this one more time....DON'T YOU THINK IT'S INTERESTING that NBC has a TV series coming out in September, called REVOLUTION, that is the story of what happens in America when we lose power for years?

How come nobody has shouted Newt down and called him an idiot for his preposterous statements here?  Maybe because they are preparing us for something?  Maybe the know something we don't?  Maybe because they know that it ultimately will happen, just as Newt says, they just don't know when. 

Spainish Police Shooting Rubber Bullets

The unrest has started.  People in Spain are not happy that they can't spend any other people's money....and now they are mad at the government whom they elected to spend the other people's money.  Get it?

You see this is how it all happened.  Greece wanted to spend other people's money, so they borrowed money from Spain.  Spain wanted to do the same for they borrowed it from Italy....Italy borrowed it from France....and France borrowed it from Germany.  Now everyone is looking at everyone else and asking who REALLY HAS the money?  And this thing I know for sure....Germans will NOT APPROVE A MEASURE to bail everyone else out and sacrifice all their own pensions, savings and lifestyles in the process.  Would you??

July 19, 2012 – SPAIN - Spanish police fired rubber bullets and charged protestors in central Madrid early Friday at the end of a huge demonstration against economic crisis measures. Thick smoke hung in the air from plastic bins set alight by protestors chased by police, who hit them with batons when some tried to reach the heavily-guarded parliament at the end of a mostly peaceful march. AFP reporters at the scene said dozens of protestors lingered, some throwing bottles at police, near the Puerta del Sol, the big square at the heart of the city where a march of hundreds of thousands wound up late Thursday. A police official told AFP that officers arrested seven people and six people were injured. Earlier, workers protesting against crisis pay cuts and tax hikes filled the streets of several Spanish cities, yelling and whistling in anger as they branded the government’s latest crisis measures ‘robbery.’ They were the latest and biggest in an almost daily series of protests that erupted last week when Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy announced measures to save 65 billion euros ($80 billion) and slash the public deficit. Among the steps is a cut to the Christmas bonus paid to civil servants, equivalent to a seven-percent reduction in annual pay. This came on top of a pay cut in 2010, which was followed by a salary freeze. “There’s nothing we can do but take to the street. We have lost between 10 and 15 percent of our pay in the past four years,” said Sara Alvera, 51, a worker in the justice sector, demonstrating in Madrid. “These measures won’t help end the crisis.” Spain is struggling with its second recession in four years and an unemployment rate of more than 24 percent. –Yahoo News

Ouch!!  24% unemployment rate??  How does that work?

Here is the best analogy of what is happening;   Suppose a 3 year old kid is sitting in your office happily minding his own business as he colors in his coloring book.  The kid is content.  You dig in your desk drawer and you say, "Here kid....have this big red loli pop!  It has tootsie roll in the middle."  The kid takes it and goes back to coloring as he sucks on his beg red tootsie pop.

After about 60 seconds of this you go back over and you say, "Sorry kid, I need that tootsie pop back."  And you proceed to pull it from his hand.  What will the kid do?  Of course he will cry, scream and throw a tizzy fit.  You say, "What's up kid?  60 seconds ago you didn't have the tootsie pop and you were content!  Why are you kicking and screaming now?"

That pretty much explains what is happening in Europe.  The only big difference is when there is 100,000,000 folks throwing a tizzy fit...then you have a problem.

I Will Curse Those Who Curse You

God tells us that that nations will be judged for how they treated his chosen people and the nation of Israel.  Nations who curse will be cursed.  Nations who bless will be blessed.

With that as a backdrop I thought the results of this survey were interesting.

Israel retained its position as one of the world's most negatively-viewed countries, according to BBC's annual poll published Wednesday night.

The 2012 Country Ratings Poll was conducted among 24,090 people worldwide, and asked respondents to rate whether the influence of 22 countries was “mostly positive” or “mostly negative.”

Evaluations of the Jewish state, already largely unfavorable in 2011, have worsened in 2012. Out of the 22 countries polled, the majority in 17 of them view Israel negatively, while only three (the US, Nigeria and Kenya) view Israel positively. In Kenya, negative ratings of Israel fell by 10 points to 31%, while the country experienced an even larger increase in positive ratings of Israel, rising 16 points to 45%.

Negative perceptions of Israel in EU countries have continue to rise, reaching 74% in Spain (up 8%), 65% in France (up 9%), while in Germany and Britain the negative views remain high but stable (69% and 68% respectively). In other Anglo countries, perceptions of Israel are worsening, including in Australia (65%), and Canada (59%).

Among Muslim countries, perceptions of Israel have continued to deteriorate. Of particular concern for Israel is the country sitting on its southern neighbor, Egypt, where 85% of the population views Israel negatively, up 7% since 2011.

In Asian countries, public opinion on Israel is growing increasingly antagonistic. In China, just 23% of those surveyed view Israel positively compared with 45% negatively. In India, overall opinion has shifter from being divided in 2011 to leaning negatively. In South Korea, negative views of Israel rose a full 15% (to 69%), while positive views decreased 11% (to 20%)

The saving grace for Israel is United States, where the proportion of people viewing Israel negatively has decreased six points to 35% since 2011. This statistic marks the most positive views on Israel expressed in the US since tracking began in 2005.

Holy poll results!  These results sure seem to confirm what the Bible promises about blessings and curses!  Here a Jewish newspaper says, "The saving grace for Israel is the United States..."  Our postive views of Israel are only getting better....as our negative views fade!  Amazing!!

Many economists wonder why the USA hasn't collapsed already?  Well maybe because we are the saving grace of Israel....and God isn't quite done with us yet?

Now notice what countries are nearing collapse....Spain has 74% who are negative on Israel and they  are collapsing.  France is 65% negative and they have been over run by Muslims and 1500 mosques and will soon be on the edge of the financial abyss.  Australia is now at 65% so I would watch for the epic droughts and floods to continue pummeling that continent.

Of course, no big surprise in the Muslim countries and their feelings on Israel.  But take note that Egypt is now at 85%....and their country may soon break out in civil war between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian military as they wrestle for control of this messy country.

Also notice that South Korea, where Christianity has been making huge inroads, has had their negative views rise by 15% and are now at 69%.  So what could that mean?  Maybe their intense financial success over that past 50 years is soon going to be challenged....maybe by a really strange little, chubby boy who rules North Korea?

The Secret Sexual Revolution

Of course we all know that Christ followers on earth are called to be salt and light.  Salt serves as a preservative to keep the earth from spoiling (think of beef jerky) for a little while longer.  Light, in that we are to deliver the Truth of Jesus Christ thereby bringing light into a dark and dying world.

So what happens when the people who claim to be Christ followers are no different than the rest of the people on the planet?  What happens when they don't tell any of their friends and neighbors the Truth about Jesus?  What happens when they don't read their Bibles any more than unbelievers?  What happens when their divorce rates are the same as the rest of the world's?  What happens when their abortion rates are the same?...their pornography viewing habits the same?....their premarital sex rates the same?

Jesus said that when salt loses it's saltiness it should be cast out and trampled by pigs.  Those are pretty serious words coming from a Jew who is also the creator of the universe.

“We need to talk to people as they really live in the world they really live in,” Paris says. “If rates of premarital sex are really that high, but we continue to talk as if the vast majority of people are virgins when they get married, weʼre out of touch. We need to address reality."

And the reality is the numbers arenʼt going down. Of those 80 percent of Christians in the 18-29 age range who have had sex before marriage, 64 percent have done so within the last year and 42 percent are in a current sexual relationship.

In addition to having premarital sex, an alarming number of unmarried Christians are getting pregnant. Among unmarried evangelical women between the ages of 18 and 29, 30 percent have experienced a pregnancy (a number thatʼs actually 1 percent higher than among those who donʼt claim to be evangelical).

According to the Guttmacher Institute, nearly half of all pregnancies in America are unintended. And of those, 40 percent end in abortion. More than 1 million abortions occur in the United States each year. But perhaps the most disturbing statistic for the Church: 65 percent of the women obtaining abortions identify themselves as either Protestant or Catholic (37 percent Protestant and 28 percent Catholic). Thatʼs 650,000 abortions obtained by Christians every year.

The article goes on to say that during Bible times, women got married at 15 and men were 17-18...so they had very little time to resist temptation.  Today the average age for marriage is close to 28 in America...and that's almost 15 years to avoid temptation.

What is truly terrifying is the number of Christian women having abortions.  Jesus offers forgiveness for all offenses...and I thank God for his mercy every day.  But how long will his mercy last when the Bride of Christ is behaving so shamelessly?

Don't be surprised if judgment has already started....because we ARE the family of God.

"For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?"  1 Peter 4:17

Please understand that there is no wrath of God that awaits true followers of Christ....that is a promise that we will NOT GO THROUGH the Tribulation.....BUT the wrath of God is quite different than the judgment of God.  I'll let you ponder that one for a while....as I am.

"It is clear that the Assad regime is losing control of Syria," said Tommy Vietor, spokesman for the National Security Council, adding that the sooner a workable transition takes place, "the greater the chance we have of averting a lengthy and bloody sectarian civil war".

Leon Panetta, the US defence secretary, said that the country was "rapidly spinning out of control", adding that the international community must "bring maximum pressure on Assad to do what's right, to step down and to allow for that peaceful transition".

The suicide bombing that killed top members of Bashar Assad's inner circle "is a 7 on the Richter scale," a senior defense official said Wednesday, predicting that Assad's days were numbered as leader of Syria.

A bomb in a Damascus security building on Wednesday killed Defense Minister Daoud Rajha, former defense minister and senior military official General Hassan Turkmani and Assad's brother-in-law Assef Shawkat. Syria’s Interior Minister as well as several other officials were seriously wounded in the attack.

Israelis killed in Bulgaria bus terror attack, minister says

(CNN) -- A deadly explosion on a bus carrying Israeli tourists at an airport in Bulgaria is "clearly a terrorist attack," Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Wednesday.

"We have several people killed and dozens of wounded people," Barak said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pointed the finger at Iran, saying it has been behind a string of recent attempted attacks on Israelis in Thailand, India and Georgia, among others.

"All the signs (are) leading to Iran," he said, according to a statement from his office.

Holy carnage!  The world does seem to be spinning out of control...and Israel is right-smack-dab in the middle of it all!!

How many times can Israel and it's citizens be jabbed, threatened, killed, and harassed before they finally say, "Today is the day.  May the God of our Fathers be with us."....and pull the trigger on a massive retaliation plan?  Their very existence is being threatened by lots of nasty folks with guns, bombs, missiles and deadly chemicals.

The Bible said Israel would be right in the middle of everything in the Last Days.

Can anyone argue that they aren't??

Makers vs. Takers.

Yesterday on the campaign trail, Obama made a comment:  "Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Some will say, "Yes, he simply meant that you couldn't have a business without roads, the Post Office, bridges, etc... so those who are successful should pay higher percentage back to society that created infrastructure."

Others will say, "More evidence of a dude who has never had his own business, has no idea what it means to make payroll every Friday and believes everyone who owns a successful business DIDN'T BUILD IT...but society built it, so society should share in the profits."

So the first view would be supported by the "TAKERS" and the 2nd comments would be supported by the "MAKERS".

Abe Lincoln used those words in 1858 to describe a country that was careening toward civil war. Now we’re a house divided again and another civil war is coming, with the 2012 election as its Gettysburg.

Call it America’s coming civil war between the Makers and the Takers.

On one side are those who create wealth, America’s private sector–the very ones targeted by President Obama’s tax hikes announced Monday.

A country where more Americans go on Social Security disability than get jobs-- as happened last month--can’t stand.

Lincoln hoped in 1861 that the “angels of our better nature” would pull us back from catastrophe. He was wrong. Let’s hope in 2012 those angels still hover -- and can make a house divided whole once more.

Assad Will Use Chemicals if Cornered

Many people have asked why the rest of the world won't "do something" in Syria to stop the violence....something like we did in Libya when the UN helped the rebels by supplying air support.

Quite simply, that can be answered by saying that Syria IS NOT Libya.  Syria's military, missiles and chemical weapons, and also it's proximity to Israel are MUCH more serious than anything that had to be considered in Libya.

Today we have the news coming out that the Syrian Ambassador to Iraq has defected.  I believe they are saying this is the highest level defector to date.

So what is this dude saying?  No surprise here but he is warning that if Assad and his inner circle feel the pressure closing in on them....they won't hesitate to use their chemical weapons.

Nawaf Fares, ex-ambassador to Iraq, said unconfirmed reports indicated such weapons might have already been used.

The comments were made as clashes were reported in Baghdad Street, central Damascus, and fighting spread in suburbs around the city.

Syria is known to have a significant stockpile of chemical weapons. There have been growing concerns in neighbouring countries and among Western governments about the security of such weapons should the regime fall.

Asked if he thought President Assad might use chemical weapons against the opposition, Mr Fares told BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner in an interview in Qatar that he would not rule it out, describing Mr Assad as "a wounded wolf and cornered".

"There is information, unconfirmed information of course, that chemical weapons have been used partially in the city of Homs," he said.

Think about it....if Assad is a wounded wolf and starts to picture himself being dragged out of his office and shot in the head like Qaddafi in Libya,,,,why wouldn't he give the order to launch the chemicals on Israel?  By doing so he may instantly gain positive points from the entire Arab world.  He also may get the civil war to cool down (temporarily) in Syria if he can get all the fighting factions to focus, for a time, on the destruction of Israel.

And once Israel has the intel that Damascus is screwing nerve gas warheads onto a missile planned for Israel...they will scramble their jets and destroy the place.

Could the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 be hours, days or weeks away?  We have no idea.  We DO KNOW that it will be destroyed and never inhabited again until Jesus returns to earth and sets all things straight....we just don't know when. 

But you can sure see how the table has been set for the first time in HUMAN HISTORY for this prophecy to be fulfilled.

Why Does Russia Stand by Syria?

The world, led by the United Nations, is simply aghast at the mayhem and violence that are happening daily in Syria....but they are at a loss as to what to do about it.  What two countries aren't falling in line with the rest of the United Nations?....Russia and China.  Surprise!!

Remember that Russia has pretty much lost all it's client states in the Middle East, except for Syria....so they probably want to hold onto the Syrian leader Assad, whom they negotiated with, for as long as they can.

Also remember that Syria allowed Russia to build a deep water naval base in Syria and I'm guessing the Russia doesn't want to risk that asset.

What kind of excuse does Russia have for not signing onto the peace plan drummed up by the world body?

Actually, they may have some pretty good reasons.

Last week Russia sent a flotilla of warships to the eastern Mediterranean, half of which are giant landing ships capable of carrying large numbers of people, leading to speculation that Moscow is preparing to evacuate tens of thousands of Russian citizens from Syria.

"All attempts to mediate an inter-Syrian solution appear to have failed," says Fyodor Lukyanov, editor of Russia in Global Affairs, a leading Moscow-based foreign policy journal. "The opposition won't accept any formula that doesn't involve Assad leaving first, and that isn't acceptable on the other side. Another problem is that the opposition has no unified voice. Russia's best bet was to participate in negotiations leading to some sort of smooth transition, but that has foundered...

"If there is a forceful overthrow of Assad, Russia will lose any points it has accumulated from taking part in the diplomatic process. On the other hand, we can't afford to just abandon Assad, throw him and all the Syrian minorities who depend on him to the dogs, because that will be just bloody chaos," Mr. Lukyanov says.

"There is a red line that Russia will not cross, and that is authorizing any forceful intervention in Syria from outside," says Lukyanov. "No amount of turmoil, no terrible atrocities, nothing will convince Russia to vote for a Libya-style operation against Syria. It looks bad, but Russia is convinced that after the fall of Assad it will only be much worse."

So to sum it up....of course Russia would like to maintain the status quo for their own national reasons, but they are saying that no amount of turmoil or terrible atrocities will compare to what blood shed and atrocities will happen if Assad falls.

You certainly can't fault Russia for thinking like this and of course they have a 50% chance that they are right.  If Assad falls, what kind of anarchy could break out?  If we have Sunnis, Shiites, Allawites, and Christians all shooting each other up as they struggle for power in a Syria that is collapsing....the carnage of that situation could make the massacres happening today seem like child's play.

Of course this article has prophetic interest because it is putting Magog of Ezekiel 38 (Russia) and also Damascus of Isaiah 17 right into the same article.

It's almost like God is holding up a magnifying glass on the areas of the world that are mentioned in the Last Days and saying, "Now pay attention and look real closely at what is happening here."

There is a new TV show called DUETS where celebrity singers team up with non-celebrity singers and perform duets....hence the name of the show.  One of the celebrity singers is Jennifer Nettles from a super popular country band called SUGARLAND.

"When Christ shall come, with shouts of acclamation, and take me home...."

God wants no one to perish and wants everyone to accept the offer of Jesus Christ to save us from our default of hell.  He even put a song about the rapture on national TV and had it sung by one of the biggest Country music stars in the entire business.

The Lord is coming soon...whether we go to Him in death in the next years or decades...or He comes for us with a large shout and tells us to come up and meet Him in the sky.

What could possibly be more exciting?  What could possibly be more important?

Cannibals Ate Victim's Brains Raw

It does seem that the world is going crazy when headlines like this appear on MSNBC.COM.

29 alleged Papua New Guinea cannibals charged with killing 7 over sorcery fees

The alleged cannibals -- eight of whom are women -- ate their victims' brains raw and made soup from their penises, according to the report. The 29 people were part of a group of about 1,000 who are against the sorcerers charging increasingly higher fees, the AFP news service reported.

"We ate their brains raw and took body parts such as livers, hearts, penis and others back to the hausman (traditional men's houses) for our chief trainers to create other powers for the members to use," one of those arrested said, according to AFP.

Israel Could Go to War Over Syria's Chemicals

Now HERE is a prophetic headline;

Yatom: Israel could go to war over Syria's chemical weapons

Syria's chemical weapons could end up in the hands of terrorist groups if President Bashar al-Assad's regime falls, and concerns are increasing that Israel may go to war against Syria to prevent this "doomsday threat," Sky News reported on Thursday, quoting Middle Eastern and other intelligence sources.

The sources say Syria possesses the biggest stockpile of nerve gases VX and Sarin, as well as mustard gas, in the Middle East.

A Sky News investigation revealed four sites in Syria where the chemicals are produced: Hama, Latakia, Al Safira near Aleppo, and at the Centre D'Etude et Recherche Scientifique laboratories in Damascus.

Al-Qaida-linked organizations that are known to be operating inside Syria have urged members or followers to try to seize Syria's chemical weapons.

Much of the unrest has centered on the towns of Hama, Latakia and in Damascus suburbs, making storage and production sites of chemical weapons there subject to break-ins by rebels.

The deadly chemicals have been successfully "weaponized," according to Sky News, meaning that conventional missile warheads have been mounted with delivery systems for VX gas, including Scud B, C and D missiles.
