Volcanic Ash

Isn't it interesting that a tiny volcanic eruption can literally bring air travel to a standstill?

A huge ash cloud from an Icelandic volcano spread out across Europe on Friday causing air travel chaos on a scale not seen since the Sept. 11 attacks.

About 17,000 flights were expected to be cancelled on Friday due to the dangers posed for a second day by volcanic ash from Iceland, aviation officials said. Airports in Britain, France, Germany, and across Europe were closed until at least Saturday.

Wow...17,000 flights cancelled. That's a serious disruption. Funny how the liberals of the world are convinced they can change the weather of the world by all driving electric cars...and a tiny hiccup from a little volcano in Iceland can grind everything to a halt.

I wonder if the cloud of ash starts blocking the suns rays and cools the earth 1/2 of 1 degree...if Al Gore will start telling us to burn tons of fossil fuels in an attempt to stave off another ice age?

When will arrogant man finally realize that we are in control of nothing and that God runs all the planets, the sun, the moon, the ocean currents, the fireballs, the meteors, the volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes??....and we are just along for a very short ride on a tiny planet hurtling through space?

Armageddon Next Door

This article appeared in the Los Angeles Times today and is titled WHEN ARMAGEDDON LIVES NEXT DOOR. Sure is lots of talk about the end of days...that's for sure.

It's written by an expert and author on Arab/Israeli wars and he is obviously not happy with Obama's attempt to deal with Iran.

I take it personally: Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, wants to murder me, my family and my people. Day in, day out, he announces the imminent demise of the "Zionist regime," by which he means Israel. And day in, day out, his scientists and technicians are advancing toward the atomic weaponry that will enable him to bring this about.

Granted, Obama has indeed tried to mobilize the international community for sanctions. But it has been a hopeless task, given the selfishness and shortsightedness of governments and peoples. Sanctions were supposed to kick in in autumn 2009; then it was December; now it is sometime late this year. Obama is still pushing the rock up the hill -- and Ahmadinejad, understandably, has taken to publicly scoffing at the West and its "sanctions."

As we said earlier today and this guy confirms....for Israel the clock is ticking....and I doubt they are going to wait much longer for Obama and the world to deal with the threats sitting on Israel's front porch.

Pray for Inflation

The world continues to wonder about the foundation of our financial system.

As we have been saying all along, the only option that the Federal Reserve currently has is to flood the economy with dollars in hopes that the consumer engine fires up once again.

Of course with every dollar they print and scatter on the street...the dollars that you and I already have in savings become worth less and less.

Everyone thinks the Fed's job is to fight inflation, but right now the Fed is actually doing everything it can to cause inflation.

Why?
It part to help the economy get cranking again. Inflation provides an incentive for people to spend cash rather than saving it, because if they save it, the cash will lose value rapidly.

And of course, those who have been responsible with their finances and avoided huge debts and have actually saved money....will bear the burden of the Fed's plan.

So inflation is an important tool in getting us out of this mess. It's painful and unfair--those who have been responsible and saved money will pay the price for those who borrowed money, racked up huge debts, and spent more than they could afford. But it's what the Fed is (quietly) aiming for.

Hizbulah officials say they received a new delivery of long-range scud missiles which places all of Israel within its reach, Israel Radio reported Thursday.

Financial Armageddon

When the chairman of the Federal Reserve uses the phrase "debt Armageddon"...you know there may be something prophetic going on.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress on Wednesday that America is facing something approaching a debt Armageddon.

"The deficit will recede somewhat over the next two years as the temporary stimulus measures wind down and as economic recovery leads to higher revenues," he said, testifying before Congress' Joint Economic Committee.

"Thereafter, however, the annual deficit is expected to remain high through 2020, in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 percent of GDP," he said.

However....the article doesn't spell all doom and gloom. Many continue to tell us that the economic recovery is upon us.

On the economy, Bernanke seemed slightly more optimistic that the fledgling recovery will keep on going after massive government stimulus fades later this year. Incoming economic barometers suggest that growth in demand by consumers and businesses "will be sufficient to promote a moderate economic recovery in coming quarters," he said.

Consumers are spending again after having cut back sharply during the recession. Going forward, consumer spending should be helped by a gradual pick up in jobs, a slow recovery in household wealth from recent lows and some improvement in the ability to get loans, Bernanke said.

That assessment of consumers -- whose spending accounts for 70 percent of national economic activity -- also appeared more upbeat. In recent weeks, Bernanke and other Fed officials have cited a litany of headwinds facing consumers, including high unemployment, rising home foreclosures and sluggish wage growth.

Did you catch the 70 percent stat there again? That's pretty amazing that 70% of our entire economy is dependent on people buying stuff.... I wonder how long that can go on at that level?

It's no wonder during the real estate boom that folks spent all that home equity money at the retail stores....and really got that 70 percent part of the engine turning extremely fast.

Massive Fireball

Last night around 10PM, a massive fireball was spotted rushing across the sky. It was seen in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.

"Well before it reached the horizon, it broke up into smaller pieces and was lost from sight," the service said. "Several reports of a prolonged sonic boom were received from areas north of Highway 20, along with shaking of homes, trees and various other objects including wind chimes," it said.

Remember, the Bible tells us that the very last days will have strange things happening in the sky. Luke 21:25 tells us there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world. And this is Jesus saying these things.

We also learn in 2 Thess. 2:9 that when the Antichrist will come according to the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders. And we learn in Revelation 13:13 that he will be able to call down fire from heaven even in plain sight of the men of earth.

As these days draw close, I would certainly expect to see more strange things coming from the sky...as these Biblical events mentioned above are foreshadowed.

Ed Koch Speaks Truth

Do you remember the ex-mayor of New York City? He was a pretty popular figure, but I don't remember if he was a democrat or a republican.

However, today he is publicly lambasting President Obama for his horrendous treatment of Israel....as Obama seeks to make friends with every fiery Muslim leader...falsely believing that he can achieve friendship with those who don't want it.

He also makes a pretty serious accusation that Obama's brother has something to do with running the opium trade in Afghanistan. That's the first I've ever heard of that.

I weep as I witness outrageous verbal attacks on Israel. What makes these verbal assaults and distortions all the more painful is that they are being orchestrated by President Obama.

I weep today because my president, Barack Obama, in a few weeks has changed the relationship between the U.S. and Israel from that of closest of allies to one in which there is an absence of trust on both sides. The contrast between how the president and his administration deals with Israel and how it has decided to deal with the Karzai administration in Afghanistan is striking.

The Karzai administration, which operates a corrupt and opium-producing state, refuses to change its corrupt ways — the president's own brother is believed by many to run the drug traffic taking place in Afghanistan — and shows the utmost contempt for the U.S. is being hailed by the Obama administration as an ally and publicly treated with dignity. Karzai recently even threatened to join the Taliban if we don't stop making demands on him. Nevertheless, Karzai is receiving a gracious thank-you letter from President Obama. The New York Times of April 10th reported, "…that Mr. Obama had sent Mr. Karzai a thank-you note expressing gratitude to the Afghan leader for dinner in Kabul. 'It was a respectful letter,' General Jones said."

If Obama is seeking to build a siege ramp around Israel, the Jews of modern Israel will not commit suicide. They are willing to negotiate a settlement with the Palestinians, but they will not allow themselves to be bullied into following self-destructive policies.

Friends...we've said it before but we will say it again....if we continue turning on Israel along with the rest of the world...it WILL be the last thing of significance that this country does. We could be buckled overnight by an earthquake on the New Madrid fault, have our financial system collapse overnight, have a dirty nuclear bomb exploded in a major city, or have anarchy over run our cities as welfare checks bounce...all of which (and many more) would cause a quick end to the USA...and all the blessings the God of Israel has bestowed on us.

Syria-Israel War Brewing

Jerusalem is on the front page of the Wall Street Journal today....again!

JERUSALEM—Syria has transferred long-range Scud missiles to the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah, Israeli and U.S. officials alleged, in a move that threatens to alter the Middle East's military balance and sets back a major diplomatic outreach effort to Damascus by the Obama administration.

The Scuds are believed to have a range of more than 435 miles—placing Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Israel's nuclear installations all within range of Hezbollah's military forces. During a monthlong war with Israel in 2006, Hezbollah used rockets with ranges of 20 to 60 miles.

Fears of a new military conflict in the region have escalated in recent weeks among U.S., Israeli and Arab officials. In late February, Mr. Assad hosted a summit in Damascus with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hezbollah's secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah. The three pledged to continue their "resistance" against the U.S.-Israeli alliance.

Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17 have both NOT BEEN fulfilled....but all the components are in place for this major conflagration which WILL change the world when it happens.

Obama Mentally Ill?

The headline of this article published in the Phoenix East Valley Tribune used this for a headline;
Obama Going Off the Deep End

A recent analysis by Roger Simon of PJTV Media maintains that Obama is showing signs of mental illness. A wide variety of commentators have observed that Obama displays severe narcissism. Obama is conceited, and he is demonstrating a serious disassociation from reality.

As Charles Krauthammer wrote, “Not that Obama considers himself divine. (He sees himself as merely messianic, or, at worst, apostolic.) But he does position himself as hovering above mere mortals, mere country, to gaze benignly upon the darkling plain beneath him where ignorant armies clash by night, blind to the common humanity that only he can see."

Obama sees himself as the greatest man to be president in all time. He truly believes it when he said "we are the ones we have been waiting for," and "this is the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal." He believes that he can do anything he pleases and the people will love him for it. Obama plans to radically transform this country and go down in history as, in his mind, the greatest ever. Obama is clearly disconnected from reality.

Obama is, according to Newt Gingrich, “potentially the most dangerous (president), because he so completely misunderstands reality.”Gingrich was referring to Obama’s inept and weak stance on missile defense amongst other things. Even Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Obama is an amateur; so much for wowing the world. Obama lives in an alternate universe where he treats our friends poorly and expects our enemies to change and become our friends. Here’s hoping that the voters help to connect this president back to reality in November.

Now, let's look closely at why many believe Obama to be a foreshadowing of the Antichrist. First off he comes in peace...but ends up making the world more dangerous. He starts off as a mortal man...but ends up believing he is messiah. He ends up living in an alternate universe where he believes he can defeat Jesus. He signs up lots of countries as friends...but ends up turning on them all. Can you see some Obama in all that?

Obama campaigned on being the great uniter and felt confident that he would be able to bring the two warring parties together again in D.C. In reality, he has pushed the two parties further apart and seeks to belittle anyone who would dare question him...like the public questioning his unread/unknown health care bill. In his mind he simply doesn't believe any of us are smart enough to figure out what we really need....so in his infinite wisdom, he will do it for us.

As another prophecy watcher is fond of saying, "You can almost hear the hoofbeats of the Antichrist". Certainly....he must be close.

China Quake

It's 12:25 early Wednesday morning and I just got done posting the previous quote about earthquake frequency.

Quake Frequency

Last week we had a posting that talked about CNN's report that earthquake frequency WAS NOT increasing.

The top prophecy site, Rapture Ready, had this to say about this issue in this week's update;

The rash of earthquakes in the past few days has caused many people to wonder what is going on. According the U.S. Geological Survey, each year, the earth experiences 17 major earthquakes (magnitude 7.0-7.9). One great earthquake (8.0 or above) will strike worldwide in any given year. Most of these large quakes occur in remote areas where there are few people. To cut through the clutter, I look for how often the major quake hits the bull's-eye--7.0 or higher in a populated area. On average, this should happen once every decade. In just the past 9 years, we've had 10 bull's-eyes.

The reason prophecy is so active goes back to what Jesus said two thousand years ago: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains" (Matthew 24:7-8). As we get closer to the tribulation hour, our time will begin to match up with the time of calamity the Lord predicted would take place.

That's pretty much what we were saying too. The big quakes are hitting in population centers SO PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY AWARE OF THEM. Can it be simple coincidence that we have had 10 bulls-eyes in 9 years? With all that is going on in Israel, plus all the other signs.....I doubt it.

Elusive Search for Aliens

Last weekend the Wall Street Journal had an article on the front page titled, "Is Anybody Out There?" It's an article about man's search for extra-terrestial life.

For the past 50+ years we have had telescopes and radio antennas pointed into the sky and, according to scientists, we have never seen or heard anything...or so the article says.

What I found intensely interesting is that the author begins to hypothesize that maybe we are looking for aliens in the wrong places. He wonders if maybe their marker or message to us was left in our DNA thousands of years ago.

Another physical object with enormous longevity is DNA. Our bodies contain some genes that have remained little changed in 100 million years. An alien expedition to Earth might have used biotechnology to assist with mineral processing, agriculture or environmental projects. If they modified the genomes of some terrestrial organisms for this purpose, or created their own micro-organisms from scratch, the legacy of this tampering might endure to this day, hidden in the biological record.

Which leads to an even more radical proposal. Life on Earth stores genetic information in DNA. A lot of DNA seems to be junk, however. If aliens, or their robotic surrogates, long ago wanted to leave us a message, they need not have used radio waves. They could have uploaded the data into the junk DNA of terrestrial organisms. It would be the modern equivalent of a message in a bottle, with the message being encoded digitally in nucleic acid and the bottle being a living, replicating cell. (It is possible—scientists today have successfully implanted messages of as many as 100 words into the genome of bacteria.) A systematic search for gerrymandered genomes would be relatively cheap and simple. Incredibly, a handful of (unsuccessful) computer searches have already been made for the tell-tale signs of an alien greeting.

Of course the Bible doesn't support this theory. But the Bible does say that at one time, fallen angels came to women on earth, had sex with them and produced mutant beings...some of them being powerful giants. Genesis 6 even goes on to suggest that the reason for Noah's flood was that Satan had been tampering with human DNA and had "corrupted" all flesh in an attempt to thwart a human savior promised in Genesis 3.

Here's the point....mankind is being prepared to accept these ideas of "aliens". But Bible readers will know right away that they are nothing more than fallen angels dressed up as "aliens".

China Bubble

So we know that Japan, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Iceland have serious problems. We know that the USA is on an unsustainable path....but surely the economic power house of China is going to keep the world afloat in consumerism....as 1.2 billion people scramble for houses, cars, blenders, microwaves, shoes, etc...RIGHT??

Wrong. China has been repeating the same real estate mistakes the U.S. made but to an even larger extent. And when that bubble pops and millions of Chinese who only make $3000 per year are upside down on their homes.....they will have no money for cars, blenders and microwaves.

Even worse....the Chinese government may need to come to the USA and cash in some of it's $1 trillion of US Treasuries in an attempt to create it's own bailout of banks, businesses and consumers. If that happens it could be seriously NOT GOOD...because who is going to refinance that $1 trillion? Japan, Greece, Portugal or Spain?

Many (Chinese consumers) said commercial housing prices in the Chinese capital and other cities were sure to keep rising, perhaps after a brief dip, shrugging off government efforts to cool the market. The disheartened said prices already well beyond their grasp were unlikely to come down.

"Nobody is listening to the government leaders. There's this mentality that has set in that this is a no-loss market," Chen said, nodding at the crowds around miniature building displays in Beijing's China World Trade Center.

"It's like watching a suicidal man who won't listen to anyone. Whatever you tell him, it simply strengthens his notion that he's right and the rest are wrong," said Chen, a twenty-something investment analyst for Changjiang Securities, wearing thick glasses and a leather jacket.

If what I have been reading is correct...the China bubble could end up being 5 times worse than the U.S. bubble, that is still popping. Why? Because the bubble has gotten so large in China that it would be the equivalent of guy in the USA who makes $40,000 per year buying an $800,000 home. That's what the lenders are doing in China....up to 20 times your gross income!! At the height of our bubble....I don't think we had millions of folks who did that.

The bigger the bubble...the bigger the explosion when it pops.

When that happens....who will be there to save the world??

Gypsies and Jews

Take a peak at this paragraph speaking about a Hungarian political party:

Jobbik, (a Hungarian political party) which burst onto the political scene last year with a nationalist platform blaming Gypsies and Jews for many of the country's problems, claimed that only a series of scandals about some of its candidates created by the media prevented it from overtaking the Socialists.

"Despite the strong headwinds, Jobbik has managed to double its voters over the past year," Jobbik president Gabor Vona said after preliminary results were announced by the National Election Office. "I still feel, however, that two-thirds of Hungarians are Jobbik supporters but don't know it yet."

To varying degrees, Jews and Gypsies have traditionally served as scapegoats in Eastern Europe for resident majorities during hard times. Jobbik has been able to inflate the traditional, relatively small base of extreme nationalist and anti-Semitic supporters with voters from Hungary's struggling country villages where the lack of jobs and poverty-related thievery has exacerbated tensions with Gypsies, or Roma, as they are also called.

You would think this paragraph came from an article talking about the rise of the Third Reich and Nazi Germany....but you would be wrong....it's from today's Jerusalem Post.

Japanese Bankruptcy

Risk of Japan going bankrupt is real, say analysts

Greece's debt problems may currently be in the spotlight but Japan is walking its own financial tightrope, analysts say, with a public debt mountain bigger than that of any other industrialised nation.

Public debt is expected to hit 200 percent of GDP in the next year as the government tries to spend its way out of the economic doldrums despite plummeting tax revenues and soaring welfare costs for its ageing population.

Without issuing more government bonds, Japan "would go bankrupt by 2011", he added.

Hey....? Aren't we trying to spend our way out of the doldrums too? I wonder if I should tell all my clients with debt problems to go borrow some more money to buy some more stuff to help them cure the doldrums?

This Japan thing could be deadly serious folks. They are the 2nd largest economy in the world and if they start revealing their financial mess....there is no telling where that pulled string would stop tearing.

Lessons From Greece

In today's Wall Street Journal they are talking about the debt problems that Greece has....caused by Greece spending WAY more money than they had. I hate to state the obvious...but that's how we get into debt.

The next statement caught my attention, "New York, California and Washington D.C. are on the same path."

We have been saying the exact same thing here for some time....California has been a foreshadowing for what may be coming for all of us.

While Greece's woes are still mainly Europe's problem, they should be a warning to Americans as well. Greece's predicament resembles that of New York and California, which are also struggling to pay their debts. The 2009 Washington stimulus helped those states postpone their day of reckoning, but that money runs out this year. Tax revenues have begun to rise again as the U.S. economy recovers, but those U.S. states also need to confront spending and pension commitments that are unaffordable in the long term.
As for Washington, it's worth noting that Greece's debt as a share of GDP is 113%. America's is now about 63%, a postwar record. But it is also growing fast, and the Congressional Budget Office forecasts that it will reach 90% by 2020 under Mr. Obama's latest budget proposals that will keep federal spending close to 25% of GDP. The recent historical average has been under 21%. Oh, and that 90% U.S. debt estimate includes the big tax hike scheduled for January, which CBO assumes won't retard economic growth.

Some on the American left argue that Greece's problem is that it joined the euro bloc and so can't devalue its way out of trouble. But the discipline of the euro is one reason Greece is having to confront its fiscal profligacy, and leaving the euro would only add to its financing woes. The Obama Administration may quietly assume the U.S. can devalue its way out of debt with easy money, but sooner or later the bond vigilantes will blow the whistle on that strategy and raise U.S. borrowing costs too.

Greece's predicament—like New York's and California's—is signaling loud and clear that the spend-and-tax economic model has hit the wall. The first lesson should be to stop the spending spree before it creates Greek levels of debt. The second should be to stop the tax increases that could slow the nascent U.S. recovery.

It seems obvious that God will continue to pull the god of Mammon out from under us. How many times has he told us that He is a jealous God?

Will our faith stand when things aren't going well? Will we continue to praise our creator if all we have is bread and shelter?

Do we really mean what we say in the Lord's prayer?....or have we re written it to suit our earthly desires?
