SVB Bank Fails

This could be big news and it could spread.  No bank can survive a run on it.  They only have a fraction of the money that’s on deposit.  If Americans do start to lose confidence in the US banking system and run to withdraw funds this could be a shock that would push us further down the road to the Fed coming out with a new financial system...Central Bank Digital Currency, or CBDC’s.  Remember those letters cuz it will be in the news more and more.

The sudden implosion of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is sending shock waves through the financial system and the technology sector.

 SVB plays a central role in the start-up economy of San Francisco. According to Bloomberg, it does business with about half of venture capital backed start-up firms in the U.S.

Venture capitalists this week began advising their portfolio companies to “diversify” away from SVB, according to multiple reports. So, what we are seeing looks a lot like a classic bank run. No fractional reserve bank can withstand a bank run.

On Friday, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation said it was shuttering the bank. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) said that all insured depositors will have full access to their insured deposits, but that might not be as reassuring as it sounds. Bloomberg reports that more than 93 percent of SVB deposits are uninsured.

Israel Protests, What You Should Know

We need to remember that just about every nation on earth is currently going through turmoil involving the Left and the Right.  Even in Israel there are those who are “woke” and those who aren’t.  At issue in Israel which has brought hundreds of thousands into the streets is their Supreme Court.  Netanyahu has some changes for the court that he and his fellows on the Right would like to see go through.  Those on the Left are seriously upset and taking a stand.  America could certainly have the same thing going on if our court issues one more conservative ruling.  Conservatives were totally upset just 8 years ago when a Liberal majority in the court overthrew the states rights and declared gay marriage as the law of the land. Now last summer Liberals were beyond upset when the Court overthrew Woe v. Wade and kicked the abortion topic back to the states.  Anyway, watch Israel very closely because they are God’s timepiece.

Israel has been engulfed in political turmoil for over two months, as tens of thousands of people continue to take to the streets in mass protests.

Demonstrators want the government to scrap a controversial judicial overhaul plan they say threatens checks and balances in the country.

The demonstrations have been growing, drawing in supporters from various professions, including the military, the justice system and high-tech industry.

The government has so far remained undeterred by the protests, prompting warnings that divisions will only deepen if a compromise is not reached soon. 

Middle East Eye breaks down what triggered the protests, why they are significant and what lies ahead.

The demonstrations were called for by opposition MPs and government critics after Justice Minister Yariv Levin unveiled a plan in January to reform the judiciary. 

Levin's proposal includes clauses that will allow parliament to override the Supreme Court by a simple majority of 61 votes out of 120 MPs.

It will also give the coalition lawmakers de facto authority to appoint judges. 

The plan is supported by the right-wing governing coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which includes ultra-Orthodox and far-right parties. 

Proponents of Levin's plan criticise the Supreme Court for being left-leaning, elitist and too involved in politics.

Air Force Misses Recruitment Goal

With young Americans too fat, on drugs or just unwilling to serve their country, the military is having problems finding soldiers. We’ve also sent billions worth of tanks and equipment and missiles to Ukraine so that we are now in a shortage situation if WE needed them.  Let’s hope WWIII doesn’t break out soon because we might not be ready for it.

The Air Force will likely miss this fiscal year’s recruiting targets for active-duty and reserve forces, as well as the Air National Guard, a top official recently said as military branches across the board struggle to enlist.

“We are currently projecting about a 10% shortfall this year in the active Air Force and more in the Guard and Reserve,” Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said Tuesday during a speech in Colorado, Military.com reported.

Kendall granted that “retention numbers look very good,” adding: “We’re keeping the people that we get, but we need to get more people.”

Last fiscal year, the service met its active-duty recruiting goal, but only after sweetening incentives and drawing from recruits not yet scheduled to enter service, Federal News Network reported. Goals for reserves and the Air National Guard were missed.

77% of Young Americans Too Fat, on Drugs or Mentally ill

A Pentagon study revealed that 77 percent of young Americans do not qualify for military service without a waiver due to being overweight, drug use, or mental or physical problems.

“When considering youth disqualified for one reason alone, the most prevalent disqualification rates are overweight (11 percent), drug and alcohol abuse (8 percent), and medical/physical health (7 percent),” the Pentagon’s 2020 Qualified Military Available Study of Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 read. 

Several key findings were noted in the summary of the report. For example, most ineligible youth (44 percent) are disqualified for multiple reasons rather than in only one area.

Among those ineligible for only one reason, being overweight was the highest disqualification, at 11 percent. Drug use (8 percent), medical/physical only (7 percent) and mental health only (4 percent) were the other leading categories found in the study.

The largest increases in disqualification estimates observed between 2013 and 2020 were for mental health and overweight conditions. Another key finding was that the proportion of youth both eligible and not currently enrolled in college was only 12 percent.

Democrat States are Imploding First

I think we have all heard that thousands of people and hundreds of businesses are fleeing Democrat-run states and moving to Republican-run states.  Mr. Wonderful from the Shark Tank TV show goes on the Rubin Report to explain why.  Who in their right mind would say, “Hey, I’ve got this incredible idea to build batteries and I’m going to go to California and build a factory?”

We wonder how America is going to stay together when half the nation has gone “woke” and only 4% of Americans have a Biblical worldview.  A nation divided will not stand.

Israel Knows There is Something Wrong

 The Bible tells us that the Jews were chosen by God to demonstrate to all humans the blessings and curses that can happen to a nation when they obey and disobey God.  That's why they are called "God's chosen people."  And of course we can see throughout OT history these blessings and curses play out.  After Christ came, the ultimate blessing given to the world from the Jews, the Jews rejected him as messiah.  And now they are suffering again with a partial blindness (the nation can't recognize Jesus)so that the fullness of the gentiles can come in.

Israel is being prepared for the Great Tribulation.  It will be a time when God will purify the nation and then protect the remnant of believing Jews from Satan and the Antichrist.  Those Jews will enter into the Millennial Kingdom as human beings, knowing the Jesus is God/Messiah.

With this as a background, we found this article from Israel very interesting.  Notice that he quotes the Bible in calling the Jews "a stiff necked people".

Around 100 mayors and heads of local councils answered the call of President Isaac Herzog on Monday and met at the Presidential Residence, in order to promote an outline for negotiations regarding the government's proposed judicial reforms.

"In the special prayer said this morning for the Fast day, I noticed the words, 'because we are in great trouble,'" Herzog said at the meeting. "It is also written that we are a 'stiff-necked people.' I think that these two aspects - the great trouble we are in, and our stubborn nature - are now combining to create one of the greatest challenges the State of Israel has ever faced. We are in crisis, one that threatens to destroy us from within.

"It seems like a paradox, doesn't it? No missiles, no bunkers, no air-raid sirens. But we all know deep down that this is a moment of supreme national danger. Never before have we experienced such behavior, seen such actions taken by broad swathes of the population. I think you all agree with me that the army should be kept totally out of all this. The army must not be dragged into the debate. The IDF is the army of us all and it is vitally important for our protection," the president stressed.

"You, the heads of local authorities, can see first-hand the terrible damage being caused," Herzog continued. "I am referring to a dramatic increase in requests for mental health treatment, and I have already received a report from the Aran association that a quarter of the inquiries are related to the crisis and its consequences.

"We also know that the consequences of the crisis are likely to have a huge economic impact," the president claimed. "They have not been felt yet, but will likely be felt in the next few quarters - and then what will happen? We'll see budget cuts, followed by more applications for unemployment benefit. Companies will start withdrawing their investments and may even entirely divest their funds. This could have enormous and profound consequences that we cannot even begin to estimate.

"The main thing that worries me is that we are now approaching our 75th Independence Day, a day that should be full of rejoicing, but instead, this year, we find ourselves divided, with violence and non-stop protests and potentially even a total paralysis of the state," Herzog added.

"The reforms as they currently stand endanger the democratic foundations of the State of Israel," he continued. "I have already said that it is absolutely legitimate to discuss reforming the judicial system, and that there are aspects of the reforms that are indeed advisable. What I can tell you is that in the last few weeks I have done everything in my power to bring about discussion and enable the sides to reach an agreement.

"I maintain that in the current position, we are closer than ever to the possibility of an agreed outline. There are agreements behind the scenes on most things. They make sense and they are reasonable. On the other hand, it depends on our national leadership, the leaders of both the coalition and the opposition, on whether they will succeed in rising to the magnitude of the moment in recognition of the terrible alternative that is lurking - on whether they will put the country and its citizens above everything else.

"The outline that I am working to formulate provides answers to those on both sides of the debate. It lays down important and historical constitutional foundations, and anchors a healthy balance between the branches of government. It preserves democracy and human rights as well as the independence of the judicial system. It also protects minorities and will preserve the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state based on the principles of the Declaration of Independence.

"We are now at the eleventh hour, and I am appealing to you, the heads of local authorities, to help, as you wield immense power! Go out and appeal to everyone who is involved in the process and to everyone with influence, use all your connections and influence to help bring this crisis to a solution.

"I have already stated and clarified that I have certain tools at my disposal and there are more things that I can do and will do, if necessary. But at this point, there is still a possibility of reaching an agreed outline, an outline that can satisfy everyone and safeguard the country. Because we are sisters and brothers, I am mobilizing you and asking you to join me in this initiative and to use all the tools at your disposal to ensure that we reach an agreed settlement. Thank you very much."

It's interesting that it's not just America that is deeply divided.  Many nations are deeply divided.  How long will everyone continue to co-exist?  How long can we govern with people who believe that babies should be legally murdered, guns should be seized from law abiding citizens, little kids can choose their genders and that men should be able to expose themselves in girl's locker rooms as long as they announce that they feel like a woman?  

There is no doubt that the world is looking for leaders.  And one day, sooner than anyone will expect, a very charismatic leader will emerge on the world scene.  The Jews will probably believe he is their promised messiah.  The third Temple will be built, a peace agreement signed that will be binding for 7 years, and then he will break it and attempt to exterminate all the Jews.

We have to be getting so very close.

Covid Financial Benefits End Exposing Increased Poverty

We aren’t quite sure how it happened.  The government shut down the nation for a few weeks to “slow the curve”, but weeks went into months, and months went to years.  Businesses were bankrupt, salespeople fired, millions lost jobs.  Then nurses were told to stay home if they refused the vax.  Of course the government had to step in and start issuing Covid checks so folks had some income.  They printed all that money which led to inflation.  And now that the doors of business have opened again, millions of workers seemed to have vanished.  There is no one left to work at McDonald’s, so they raise their wages to $15/hr and then raise the price of a plain cheeseburger to $3.59 to pay for inflated food and inflated wages.  Now even the poor can’t afford to eat at McDonald’s.  And now that the government has caused massive inflation, they have made more poor people.  It’s an ugly circle.

 Now, people are waiting up to nine hours in mile-long lines for free food - some of whom say they can only afford to eat once per day, while others say they limit expensive food items such as meat for specific family members, such as growing teenage boys.

"I thought, ‘Wow, the government is trying to kill us now," said 63-year-old Danny Blair of Kentucky. Blair, who lives in a mobile home with his wife, survives on his Social Security disability check, the Washington Post reports.

"They are going to starve us out," Blair continued, apparently unaware that government assistance provided during the pandemic wasn't permanent.

Blair and his wife hop into their truck twice a month at 4 a.m. to ensure they get a few staples at the Hazel Green Food Project’s giveaway. On a recent Friday, they waited nine hours until local prisoners on work duty started loading bags of meat and vegetables, potato chips and cookies into vehicles in one of the nation’s most impoverished communities.

From the front to the back of the line, the sea of despair and hardship along this desolate Kentucky highway foreshadowed what may be in store for millions of Americans as the federal government ended the remaining pandemic increase in monthly food stamp benefits this week. -WaPo

As the Post frames it, the pullback of pandemic-related aid could pose a setback to the Biden administration's efforts to 'slash poverty' while building a 'healthier and more sustainable middle class' - none of which were the stated goals of the temporary aid.

"We saw positive benefits from this and less hardship, including for families with children," said Dottie Rosenbaum, a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, who points out that all the free money helped reduce childhood poverty rates in 2021. "We can expect that to reverse now."

Following the reduction in benefits, the average SNAP recipient's benefits are expected to drop by around $90 per month, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. That said, an even greater reduction is in store for seniors and the working poor who receive assistance from other government programs, and will likely qualify for less.

There are literally hundreds of newspaper reports from 100 years ago reporting on giant skeletons found in America.  So where did all these skeletons go?  Why can’t we see them today?  Is it possible that someone or some group hid them or destroyed them?  But why?  Maybe because they didn’t fit into the evolution story being sold by Satan that fish evolved into lizards, which evolved into monkeys which evolved into men?  That great lie that is now preached as fact has probably done more to lead men away from Creator God than any other lie.  Watch

California Governor Says They Will Cease Doing Business with Walgreens

 We thought this headline was going to talk about Walgreens closing stores in California because the state refuses to arrest and prosecute anyone stealing less than $1000 from stores.  Videos are all over of folks just walking into a Walgreens or CVS and throwing things into a bag and walking out.  

However, this headline takes us the abortion battles raging in America.  It seems that Walgreens has been warned by Red States that they better not be distributing abortion pills.  Walgreens has agreed to limit the sale of these pills.  This has drawn the ire of those folks who demand to kill babies in all stages of life.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom slammed Walgreens in a tweet Monday morning, saying California would no longer be doing business with the chain and linking to a CNN story about the company not distributing abortion pills to 20 states. “California won’t be doing business with Walgreens or any company that cowers to extremists and puts women’s lives at risk.”

“We’re done,” Newsom added in the tweet.

Walgreens last week announced it won’t sell abortion pills by mail to 20 conservative-led states. The statement came after attorney generals in the 20 states warned Walgreens and pharmacy chain CVS that they could face legal consequences if they sold abortion pills by mail to those states.

A spokesman for Walgreens confirmed to the Associated Press that the company sent a response to the AGs in each state, saying it would not dispense mifepristone in the states. Restrictions on abortion pills have been imposed in 19 U.S. states and there’s a court battle over whether they have the power to do so in defiance of U.S. Food and Drug Administration policy.

Gov. Newsom has vowed to make California a safe-haven for women seeking an abortion following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs. Wade last year.

I believe the reports about Californians fleeing the state in record numbers are accurate.  It would be our hope that God would continue to bless the states that stand for life and punish those states that continue to demand death for the most innocent Americans.
