Clarification

In the previous post I said that the Lebanon war of 2006 was started when Hezbollah kidnapped a soldier that they are still holding. Actually, that was Hamas in Gaza who did that...and they are still holding that soldier as a bargaining chip.

The Lebanon war started when Hezbollah killed 5 Israeli soldiers at a border crossing and took two of the dead bodies back into Lebanon.

Rockets Fired Into Israel

The news is just breaking that two rockets were fired into Israel from Lebanon. Israel responded by firing 8 shells back. Let's remember that the Lebanon war started in 2006 because Hezbollah kidnapped an Israeli soldier....who they are still holding over 3 years later.

Israeli resident Ephraim Gold, who heard the sound of up to six explosions in the city of Nahariya - some 6 miles (9.6km) from the border with Lebanon - told the BBC News website that the rockets had sparked panic.

"People were screaming, running away," he said. "It's been quiet here for so long, this was completely unexpected.

"The sirens went off. Everybody is in bunkers. The children had to leave their schools."

He said Israeli troops were in the area to investigate the source of the attacks.

Now turn your bibles to Psalm 83. Understand that this prophecy has not been fulfilled and further understand that "Tyre and Gebal" are places in Lebanon. (In fact, Tyre is mentioned in the linked article) It's obvious that this place will one day be laid low...and appears that it will happen at the hands of the Israelis.

Keep praying for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem. Also keep praying that the Muslim extremists will meet Jesus Christ and be saved...before it's too late.

Vampires Everywhere

So what's up with vampire craze? Do these bloodsucking, demon possessed creatures just make a fun story....or is there something more deceptive at work?

For those of you who might have no idea what I'm talking about, you should understand that there is a series of books out called "The Vampire Diaries". They center around a young girl who is torn between two vampire brothers. Also there is another vampire series and movie called "Twilight", which is all about sexy vampires and the women who can't keep their hands off them.
In just one more sign that our culture is losing all elements of Christian discernment, parents are allowing and even encouraging girls as young as 8 to get involved in these vampire novels. I spoke to one woman I know well this summer and she was raving about how her young daughter and she were enjoying reading this series of novels together. Then she lowered her voice and said she wouldn't let her daughter read the most recent books because as the series progressed, they turned into "vampire porn"....she whispered to us.

Today, this headline came to the front of the news;

Now, the concern will be keeping the numbers up for the subsequent weeks. “Vampire Diaries” is based on the series of young adult novels of the same name by L.J. Smith. It centers on a girl who is torn between two vampire brothers.

Did you catch that??...."young adult novels". We are starting our kids down a very dark path. We know how this works...the books will start out kind of light and dreamy and every subsequent book will grow darker and more evil... loaded with more sex and more violence....until they get our young girls involved in "vampire porn".


Let's remember what Leviticus 17:12 tells us, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood."

We know the pattern of Satan....whatever God tells us to do for for our safety and obedience....Satan tries to entice us to do the opposite in an attempt to lead us off the narrow path.

We need to guard our hearts and minds in this evil age....and we need to learn to parent our kids and say, "no".....even when all the other clueless parents are saying, "Yes!"....and thereby giving support to something that leads people away from Christ...instead of towards him.

Putin Back for 2012?

This article may have SIGNIFICANT prophetic significance. It was announced today that Putin may come back to rule Russia.....when??....2012...SURPRISE!

After two terms in office, Mr. Putin was obliged by the terms of Russia's constitution to step down in 2008. The constitution has since been changed to extend presidential terms to 6 years each. That means that if Mr. Putin were to return to office, he could potentially remain until 2024.

And do we remember who pushed to change the constitution??? IT WAS PUTIN HIMSELF!

Can anyone say the word, "Dictator"? Can anyone see how Putin may end up being Gog of Magog and lead the Ezekiel coalition sometime in the not distant future?

Dang It Russia!

Iran already knows that they have no fear of a U.S. led-Western military incursion into their nuclear aspirations. The liberal think says, "Why use bombs when talking and logical reasoning will suffice?" So when talking doesn't work...then what? Liberal think has an answer for that as well....sanctions.

What's a sanction? That's when you get all the major countries to agree to not sell certain things to a targeted country. For instance, Saddam Hussein in Iraq had sanctions imposed on his country from 1991 up until we invaded...and it didn't do anything to stop him from drinking vodka, eating fish eggs and putting a hefty sum in Swiss bank accounts....but it sure hurt all the little guys who were tyring to run businesses and keep hospitals supplied.

Anyway...back to Iran. Obama said that he was disappointed with Iran's leadership because they weren't bargaining correctly regarding their nukes. So just in the last few days he said they would have to look at tougher sanctions. Now here's the problem headline;

Dang it Russia! What won't you do what Obama says? Don't you know he is the most charismatic president that we've ever had? Mossad Chief Says Israel Must Bomb Iran

According to the headlines in the Wall Street Journal today, Iran claimed to desire talks with Western countries about it's nuclear ambitions. But when they all got together yesterday to talk....Iran refused to mention anything about it's nukes, but instead wanted to talk about a whole host of other grievances.

Ooohhh!!! That disrespect may have even made Obama and the liberals mad....so mad in fact that they are talking about even more sanctions on Iran. Ahmadinejad and the mullahs have to be terrified.... with the threat that Obama is going to rain sanctions down on them. How will they feed their families or get to their kid's soccer games in Tehran?

So an ex-Mossad chief has come out and said exactly what Israel is going to have to do (Since the West won't have the courage)....bomb Iran. Remember that Mossad is like the CIA of Israel.

"Yes, I have," the 64 year old answered when asked if he had come to the conclusion that a military strike would be the only way to deal with the Islamic Republic.

"I do not see the world today, led by the United States, ready to take the risk of attacking Tehran's nuclear facilities," he said adding that "Israel can not sit back and watch Tehran become nuclear power."

Degenerating Humans

Are humans getting better or worse? Are we actually evolving or are we degenerating? Let's remember that Adam was made to live forever but when sin cut him off from the tree of life...he started to deteriorate. He still lived over 900 years but every generation since him seemed to live shorter and shorter lives. And now, were it not for drugs and technology, most of us would be checking out fairly early in life. In Honduras today the average life expectancy is around 45 years...and this is true in much of the 3rd world.

Even using that stricter understanding of evolution, though, it can be argued that life on earth, and especially the human race, is not evolving at all. In fact, some people argue that the human race is devolving, that we're degenerating in a variety of ways and are consequently losing the ability to survive. More to the point, we can argue that our physical bodies, beautiful though they are, are mere shadows of the excellent bodies God gave our ancestors when He created the world, and the disease and physical suffering we see around us is a result of a fallen world and thousands of years of degeneration.

As Missler points out....don't be discouraged about our old, diseased bodies that are degenerating. God has a new one for us that IS perfect and when Jesus comes for us he will be giving us our new one that will never pass away! What a glorious day that will be!!

Enriched Uranium in Iran

One day someone issues a report that Iran is far from having a bomb. The next day someone says they may already have enough uranium to make a bomb.

The United States said Wednesday that Iran could be close to having enough enriched uranium to make a nuclear bomb - if it hadn't already reached that point. That warning came during an ongoing board meeting of the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency, whose chief harshly criticized Iran this week for failing to cooperate with the international community.

So what should the world do??....flip a coin....heads they have it, tails they don't.

That may be an acceptable solution for Obama and Hillary....but it is not an acceptable option for Israel.

Peace and Safety

As we watch the coalition build with the named players mentioned in Ezekiel 38....there is one unclear aspect to this prophecy and it's soon fulfillment;

Ezekiel 38:8
After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.

The passage first off mentions, "...you will be called to arms". The "you" in this passage is the earlier mentioned coalition of Russia, Iran, Libya, Turkey and others.

The rest is referring to Israel which HAS been gathered from many nations after 2000 years. Brought back to it's promised land that was made desolate by 2000 years of Arab-Muslim abuse...and is now flourishing because of Jewish ingenuity and God's blessing.

But what about the, "...and now all of them live in safety". Are they living in safety when you and I can read articles everyday about Syria, Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas, Fatah, Muslim Brotherhood, etc..... all of whom would love to vaporize Israel? That doesn't seem to be close to being fulfilled! Or is it??

Despite the recent streak of violent incidents throughout the country, Jewish Israelis' sense of security is on the rise.

Almost all of those surveyed - 85% - rely on the IDF to defend Israel and its citizens in the face of an attack by Arab states.

Did you catch that?..."Almost all of those surveyed..." believe they will be defended by the Israeli army.

So does the Ezekiel passage refer to the belief of the individual Jews dwelling in Israel?? Or does it refer to the hard facts on the ground which currently seem far from "safe".

Remember that some watchers believe that the fulfillment of Psalm 83 will bring about the "safe" conditions necessary to fulfill Ezekiel 38.

Also remember that all Pre-tribulation prophecy watchers believe that the Rapture of the church will PRECEDE Ezekiel's war of chapter 38. So if we can see the players of Ezekiel 38...are we daily watching and praying for Christ himself to call us into the sky??

Late, Great Planet Earth

Most are familiar with the book by this title. It was written and made popular by Hal Lindsey and exposed millions to God's prophecy back in the 1970's. Today many of you probably watch Hal's weekly TV show on Christian channels...if you have cable TV.

Last Friday I received his email update about what was coming up on The Hal Lindsey Show. I will post most of it below and I will emphasize some things with bold;

Amen to that!! Make sure everyone around you has had a chance to hear the Good News. And NO!...regardless of what you believe, it is not the responsibility of your local church to spread the Gospel. Jesus Christ gave EVERY BELIEVER the commandment to go and make disciples.

"It will go well for those servants found working when the Master returns"...says Jesus

Slave to the Lender

Proverbs tells us very plainly that the borrower will eventually become slave to the lender. In the case of the U.S., we may end up being forced to listen very carefully to what our Chinese lenders have to say.

Today they are saying that we are printing too much money and this is the resultant headline and sub-headline;

China alarmed by US money printing
The US Federal Reserves policy of printing money to buy Treasury debt threatens to set off a serious decline of the dollar and compel China to redesign its foreign reserve policy, according to a top member of the Communist hierarchy.

Now check out this last lines of the article;

Mr Cheng said the root cause of global imbalances is spending patterns in US (and UK) and China.

"The US spends tomorrow's money today," he said. "We Chinese spend today's money tomorrow. That's why we have this financial crisis."

Yet the consequences are not symmetric.

"He who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing," said Mr Cheng.

It was a quote from US founding father Benjamin Franklin.

Spending tomorrow's money today....isn't that how the American dream works??

It's kind of a sorry state of affairs when the Chinese have to quote one of our founding fathers in pointing out our spending errors.

Sorry....but when ever a Palestinian negotiator tells Israel that they "could have had peace, but they chose settlements"....one has to roll his eyes in disbelief....especially when you understand that the two ruling parties in Palestine are Fatah and Hamas....both of which has said that Israel has no right to exist at all....even if the land they occupied was the size of a postage stamp!!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there will be NO LASTING PEACE between the Jews and Arabs until the Prince of Peace comes back to earth to rule and reign....and that may be sooner than later.

Hijacked Russian Ship

Do you guys all remember the news from last month regarding a hijacked Russian ship? At first glance it didn't seem like much of a story other than just another hijacking....probably by Somali pirates.

But a few weeks later a small rumor appeared that Israel may have had something to do with the "hijacking"....maybe because it was carrying weapons bound for Iran.

It now appears that this was more than rumor...and that Israel was involved in stopping the ship's cargo from reaching it's destination.

The Sunday Times quoted the sources in Jerusalem and Moscow as claiming the ship actually had been loaded with S-300 missiles, Russia's most advanced anti-aircraft weapon, while undergoing repairs in the Russian port of Kaliningrad.

The air defense system could help Iran repel a possible Israeli strike against the Islamic Republic's nuclear sites. Iran has long been interested in buying the missiles from Russia, but Israel has sought to convince Moscow not to deliver the systems.

Israeli military sources said Israel received intelligence that weapons bound for Iran were being loaded in the port, according to the report. "A decision was then taken to inform the Kremlin," a source was quoted as saying.

This story is worth watching because it shows us more evidence that Russia and Iran are cooperating in some way, shape or form. And this is significant as we watch the coalition mentioned in Ezekiel 38 gather steam...to let all of us know that we may be approaching the End of the Age.

US Citizens Support Israel

If this is true, it is truly good news. It appears that in a recent U.S. poll, the support for Israel is almost 8 times more than what it is for the Palestinian cause.

Some 59 percent of the respondents said they were Israel supporters, compared to 8 percent for the Palestinians. The poll was conducted by telephone from August 22 to 25.

This was a considerable jump in support for Israel since June, following the US president's speech in Cairo, when the same question was asked by the same pollsters and Israel's support was only 49 percent.

The number of Americans who think America should support Israel over the Palestinians also increased considerably over the last two months, with 63 percent saying the US should support Israel, and 8% saying it should support the Palestinians. In June, that number was 44% for Israel, and 5% for the Palestinians.
