Israel in a Box

It appears that even the New York Times is willing to say that what Netanyahu has been saying all along about Iranian nuclear progress is really true.  Surprise!

JERUSALEM — For Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday offered findings validating his longstanding position that while harsh economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation may have hurt Iran, they have failed to slow Tehran’s nuclear program. If anything, the program is speeding up.

But the agency’s report has also put Israel in a corner, documenting that Iran is close to crossing what Israel has long said is its red line: the capability to produce nuclear weapons in a location invulnerable to Israeli attack.

With the report that the country has already installed more than 2,100 centrifuges inside a virtually impenetrable underground laboratory, and that it has ramped up production of nuclear fuel, officials and experts here say the conclusions may force Israel to strike Iran or concede it is not prepared to act on its own.

Whether that ultimately leads to a change in strategy — or a unilateral attack — is something that even Israel’s inner circle cannot yet agree on, despite what seems to be a consensus that Iran’s program may soon be beyond the reach of Israel’s military capability.

“It leaves us at this dead end,” said a senior government official here, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he is involved in the decision-making process. “The more time elapses with no change on the ground in terms of Iranian policies, the more it becomes a zero-sum game.”

So they believe that the problem in Iran may soon be 'beyond the reach of Israel's military capability'?

That's interesting as I think the world has said those words many times about the tiny nation of Israel and it's military ability.

I guess we will need to see what God has to say about all this...

US Carrier Strike Group Rushes to Persian Gulf

Tensions continue to build around Iran.  Any ideas on what would happen if a big old battle starts around the straight of Hormuz?

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis is being rushed to the Persian Gulf as tensions between Israel and Iran edge closer to the boiling point.  The Nimitz class carrier, with an air wing of about 90 aircraft, sets sail Monday on an eight-month deployment to the region -- four months ahead of schedule.

In the gulf it will join the USS Enterprise Strike Group, giving the United States a powerful deterrent to any Iranian attack on commercial oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz or a counterpunch to Iranian military action against U.S. military facilities in the region or those of its allies.  "It's tough," U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said to sailors recalled early from leave. "We're asking an awful lot of each of you. And frankly, you are the best I have -- and when the world calls, we have to respond."

Tehran has slammed Western powers and gulf allies for supporting the Syrian rebellion and warned of unspecified consequences. Yet as serious as those issues are, none has topped the conundrum of Iran's nuclear ambitions, which Tel Aviv views as a direct threat to Israel's very existence, an existence that Tehran's leadership repeatedly vows to end.  "The very existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to humankind and an affront to all world nations," the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying in a recent speech. "Confronting Zionists will also pave the way for saving the whole humankind from exploitation, depravity and misery."  Annihilating Israel, he said, was the duty of humankind.

Carriers rushing to the gulf, talk of wiping out Israel, intrigue in Syria, nuclear ambitions....sounds like the making of a great book.  I wonder if anyone would read it?

USS Yorktown

While in Charleston, SC yesterday we went and toured the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier that fought in WWII.  As we walked through the museum on board the ship there was a picture of the military chaplain praying for the pilots before they left on a mission.

The chaplain had his Bible open and the pilots had their heads bowed to the One True God who has so blessed our nation.

Today we made it to Ft Jackson in Columbia SC and as we drove around the base we went past the 'church'.  On the billboard it advertised a Presbyterian service, a Catholic service, a Muslim service and a Mormon service.

So how many 'gods' are being beckoned at those services?

How long will the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob continue to bless our military...as we invite Satan into the very churches that were built to honor God and his son, Jesus Christ?

I have an idea that those WWII pilots with heads bowed in that photo 70 years ago would be saddened to see what is on the military bases today.

Here ComesThree Person Marriage?

When gay people came forward and said they have a right to marriage...we knew that it would only be a matter of time before the bi-sexual people say, "well what about us?  Why can't we marry one man and one woman and create a family?"

Of course they will claim that everyone who disagrees with them are "biphobic haters."

Public Notary Claudia do Nascimento Domingues has said the man and two women should be entitled to family rights.

She says there is nothing in law to prevent such an arrangement.

But the move has angered some religious groups, while one lawyer described it as "absurd and totally illegal".

The three individuals, who have declined to speak to the press, have lived in Rio de Janeiro together for three years and share bills and other expenses.

Ms Domingues says they have already opened a joint bank account, which is also not prohibited by any law.

Ms Domingues, who is based in the Sao Paulo city of Tupa, said the move reflected the fact that the idea of a "family" had changed.

"We are only recognising what has always existed. We are not inventing anything."

"For better or worse, it doesn't matter, but what we considered a family before isn't necessarily what we would consider a family today."

Here;  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-19402508

Yep...what was considered a family before isn't what many would consider a family today.  Once the floodgates are opened...why not have 3 wives, or 3 husbands?  And soon and very soon someone will demand their 'right' to marry a chimp....after all chimps are 99% human...and why should some woman be denied her right to marry the chimp who makes her happy?...and why shouldn't they be allowed to adopt a child?...and why shouldn't she be allowed to leave that chimp her Social Security benefits when she dies...or her life insurance proceeds....after all, she 'earned' them!

Once society throws away the Word of God...it is a quick ride for society right into the pit of hell.

Lord, have mercy.

Israel Strikes Deal With Obama Over Iran Strike

There has been much banter as of late about a strike coming on Iran BEFORE the U.S. Presidential election in November.  The thought being that Obama would be forced to help Israel if he hoped to win the election.

If the article below is true it is saying a deal has been struck and the U.S. will lead an invasion against Iran next spring...after Obama has won the election.

The White House this week scrambled to reconnect with Jerusalem after the Obama administration was persuaded that Israel was serious about conducting a fall military operation against Iran’s nuclear program before the Nov. 6 US presidential election - notwithstanding the heavy opposition guns firing against it at home and from Washington.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, assisted by their newly-appointed Home Front Defense Minister, were seen deep in practical preparations for this operation and its repercussions, as well an outbreak of hostilities with Syria and Hizballah.

The White House accordingly got in touch with Netanyahu’s office to find out what America must do to convince Israel to back off.

Wednesday, Aug.15, debkafile revealed exclusively that the Obama and Netanyahu were discussing a one-on-one encounter on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session opening in New York on Sept. 18 in order to resume their military and strategic dialog on the Iranian issue broken off by their polar differences.

debkafile now learns that those discussions have moved forward. Handled by National Security Adviser Tom Donilon for the US president and senior adviser Ron Dermer for the prime minister, they focus essentially on a four-point plan embodying Israel’s requirements for delaying an attack.

1. President Obama will formally inform the two houses of congress in writing that he plans to use military force to prevent Iran from arming itself with a nuclear weapon. He will request their endorsement. Aside from this step’s powerful deterrent weight for persuading Iran’s leaders to give up their pursuit of a nuclear bomb, it would also give the US president the freedom to go to war with Iran when he sees fit, without have to seek congressional endorsement.

2. To underscore his commitment, President Obama would pay a visit to Israel in the weeks leading up to election-day and deliver a speech to the Knesset solemnly pledging to use American military force against the Islamic Republic if Tehran still refuses to give up its nuclear weapon program. He will repeat that pledge before various other public forums.

3, In the coming months up until Spring 2013, the United States will upgrade Israel’s military, intelligence and technological capabilities so that if President Obama (whether he is reelected or replaced by Mitt Romney) decides to back out of this commitment, Israel will by then be in command of the resources necessary for inflicting mortal damage on Iran’s nuclear program with a unilateral strike.

If you were Israel....would you trust Obama?

Of course we must remember that Israel is very good at the game of DISINFORMATION.

We can file this one under, "wars and rumors of war".

RNC Disrupted by Storm 3rd Straight Time

This is pretty interesting...you can read and decide for yourselves what may be going on here.

The third straight Republican Convention greatly impacted by a major storm.
There were two major record-setting, billion-dollar hurricanes at the time of the 2004 (Frances) and 2008 (Gustav) Republican Conventions. They literally became the main news stories up to and during the Republican Convention.

Katrina and Isaac Isaac is occurring during the seventh anniversary period of Hurricane Katrina that ran from August 23-30, 2005. Katrina, the costliest hurricane in U.S. history, came ashore on Aug. 29, 2005. The storm developed the day after President George W. Bush congratulated Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for completing the eviction of 9500 Jews from 24 communities in Southern Gaza and four communities in Northern Samaria. As of Sunday evening, New Orleans and the Southern Gulf Coast are once again in the projected path of a major storm. With a good likelihood, that Isaac will come ashore on Wednesday, the 7th anniversary of Katrina. Why the Republican Conventions? Is it connected to Republican President GW Bush birthing the "two-state" plan in 2002 and the inclusion in the 2012 Republican platform?

Hurricane Threatens Florida and New Orleans

Of course we have all been watching the track of hurricane Isaac.  (kind of an interesting name?)

Let me remind you that the state of Florida created it's own property insurance company because they were upset that State Farm, USAA and other big carriers were increasing premiums beyond what THEY thought all the retirees in Florida could bear.

Here is the problem....the Florida legislature that created the insurance company didn't set aside any money to pay claims.  So if they have a $billion dollar claim...they don't have the money and their plan would be to sell bonds to pay the claims.

The governor of Florida, Rick Scott, declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm's expected landfall Sunday night in the Florida Keys.

The storm is expected to intensify into a 160 kilometer per hour (100 mile per hour) hurricane as it moves north into the Gulf of Mexico and towards the Alabama-Mississippi-Louisiana coastline.

Scott cancelled his appearance at Monday's Republican national convention in Tampa to concentrate on storm preparations, shortly before convention organisers announced that the first day and a half would be shelved to allow time for the storm to pass.

"This is a state that has dealt with hurricanes forever. We are a state where we know we have to get prepared for hurricanes," Scott said.

Of course its only a matter of time til a really big hurricane does hit Florida...and who is going to want to buy a bunch of IOU's from a bankrupt state?

Prayers for Iran's Destruction

Of course Iran has been calling for Israel's destruction for quite some time now.  Today we have the headline that a Rabbi is now calling for prayers for Iran's destruction.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An influential Israeli rabbi has called for prayers for Iran's destruction, a week after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to court his support for a possible attack on a nuclear programme Israel sees as an existential threat.

The sermon by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef added to a flurry of recent rhetoric from Israeli officials that has raised international concern that Israel, widely believed to be the Middle East's only atomic power, might attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

"(When) we ask God to 'bring an end to our enemies', we should be thinking about Iran, those evil ones who threaten Israel. May the Lord destroy them," Yosef was quoted as saying by Israeli media on Sunday.

Last week, Netanyahu sent his national security adviser to brief Yosef, 91, on Iran's nuclear activities in what was widely seen as an effort to win his backing for any future military strike, possibly before the U.S. presidential vote in November.

Yosef, a former Israeli chief rabbi, is the spiritual leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, a key member of Netanyahu's governing coalition.

Sorry for the lack of posts these past few days.  I have been out of the usual routine as we are picking up my youngest boy from Army boot camp and are currently in South Carolina, so have had lots of time in the car and little time connected to the Internet.

Continue to pray for Israel.  We know they are surrounded, we know they are in the news everyday...if the trumpet blows soon and the followers of Christ are taken, America will fall and Israel will be all alone.
