Islam Could Save Chicago?

I think we are all aware that there have been a few thousand murders in Chicago this year.  Funny thing is,that they have some of the toughest gun laws in Illinois....but that hasn't stopped a the gun murders.  Here's another newsflash for my liberal readers....CRIMINALS DON'T OBEY LAWS!!  THAT'S WHY THE ARE CRIMINALS!

But I digress.

The Nation of Islam could be Chicago’s savior

On the evening of Sept. 28, a family of six was gunned down as they returned to their home, killing a grandmother and a pregnant mother and wounding three others, including an 11-month-old baby. The weekend marks the second in a row when more than 50 people have been shot on the streets of Chicago. 

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Democratic leadership in Chicago continue to run around in a daze, denying the obvious and blaming the problem on gun laws to deflect from the real issues. The crux of the issue is that in Chicago, entire communities have completely disintegrated from within. Effective leadership at the local community level is sorely lacking, as are present fathers and strong family structures. The vicious cycle shows no sign of abating, as gangs of fatherless children and young adults raised by the prison system are left to fend for themselves and form their own fractured and violent facsimile of a social structure. 

The situation in Chicago is so desperately broken that alternative solutions bear considering. One of the few sources of strong leadership in many of these communities is the Nation of Islam. 
The religious organization has long endured controversy over allegations that it is a virulently anti-Semitic and extremist black-nationalist group. The inflammatory rhetoric of some of its leaders — including its current leader, Louis Farrakhan — lend credence to such claims. These extremist elements should be sternly and unequivocally condemned. On the other hand, more moderate Muslims have made it a point of standing up for their communities. 

David Muhammad, a retired mechanic who lives on the West Side of Chicago, was featured in the CBS News “48 Hours” documentary “The War In Chicago” for his work in documenting drug dealing in his neighborhood. For more than a year, he recorded live video of an open-air drug market that had set up shop in front of a Baptist church, and posted the videos to YouTube. The radical strategy garnered Muhammad scores of death threats from local drug dealers, but the spotlight ultimately proved more than they could endure and they eventually moved on. 

Some might be perplexed as to why a Muslim would risk his life protecting Christian worshippers, but for Muhammad, the answer was simple. “In Islam, we’re taught to protect all institutions of God. So it was like a slap in my face for them to deal drugs right out of the door of the church.”

The fact is, the Nation of Islam brings to the table things that other private security firms and the police don’t: Credibility within the community. It is one of the few community-based organizations that actually recruit in the prisons and also offer transitional services to ex-offenders. One of the problems cited by HUD with regard to the group’s Baltimore contracts was that it had hired ex-offenders as guards. But this was actually a strength. The Nation of Islam had in fact cleaned up ex-offenders, taking them off the streets, getting them off drugs and instilling them with discipline before redeploying them in neighborhoods where they were known and now respected. 

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men have given it their best, and yet violence in Chicago remains an ongoing tragedy that has shown no signs of abatement. It is time Chicago takes the next practical step in partnering with moderate members of community-based organizations with proven track records of curbing violence and crime. While we should condemn bigotry and extremism in all forms, this should not deter us from engaging with more moderate members of the Muslim community to develop constructive, community-based solutions to address the acute problems Chicago is facing. Certainly there is some middle ground to be found in a city that is being torn to shreds in the absence of sane leadership and mutual cooperation.

Please take note that the NATION OF ISLAM has little or nothing to do with the Islam of the Sunni and Shia being practiced in the Middle East.  Nope.  The Nation of Islam is a strange religion that Louis Farakahn preaches.  It's all tied up with BLACK POWER and also has a very strange element consisting of UFOlogy.   Yep....space men coming in a ship!

You simply can't make this stuff up.

Satan always sets his traps to actually feel good and rewarding when they snap.  No pain, but instead pleasure and success.  It's only after that he has you bound and wrapped that he starts to whisper his plans for you to carry out.  In the same way, Nation of Islam MIGHT ACTUALLY HELP the black folks of Chicago to quit shooting each other...but make no mistake about it, if Nation of Islam takes over hundreds of thousands of black people...there will be hell to pay for it.

Jesus warned that in the last days we could expect race to rise against race...and as we watch the black people rioting and looting in Ferguson, MO earlier this year...it doesn't take too much of an imagination to one day see angry black people seriously disrupting this nation.

Does that make me a racist?  Absolutely not!!  I just sent Ben Carson some money and I hope and pray that if it's the Lord's will he becomes our next president!!

Sweden Begins to Come Apart

For decades now, Sweden has prided itself on being an open, tolerant and accepting culture.  "All men are welcome!", they claimed.  "All men are equal!", they claimed.

What a load of Utopian, liberal crap!

Now that the Muslims have flooded in, many Swedes are bolting their doors and buying guns.

Once upon a time, there was a safe welfare state called Sweden, where people rarely locked their doors.

Now, this country is a night-watchman state -- each man is on his own. When the Minister of Justice, Morgan Johansson, encourages breaking the law, it means opening the gates to anarchy. Mr. and Mrs. Swede have every reason to be worried, with the influx of 190,000 unskilled and unemployed migrants expected this year -- equivalent to 2% of Sweden's current population. The number is as if 6.4 million penniless migrants who did not speak English arrived in U.S. in one year, or 1.3 million in Britain.

And the Swedes are preparing: demand for firearms licenses is increasing; more and more Swedes are joining shooting clubs and starting vigilante groups. After a slight dip in 2014, the number of new gun permits has gone up significantly again this year. According to police statistics, there are 1,901,325 licensed guns, owned by 567,733 people, in Sweden. Add to this an unknown number of illegal weapons. To get a gun permit in Sweden, you need to be at least 18 years old; law-abiding; well-behaved, and have a hunting license or be a member of an approved shooting club. In 2014, 11,000 people got a hunting license: 10% more than the year before. One out of five was a woman.

"There is also a high demand for alarm systems right now," says a salesman at one of the security companies in an interview with Gatestone.

Another Finns Party representative, Simon Elo, pointed out that the situation in Sweden is out of control. "Sweden has great abilities, but not even the Swedes have abilities that great," Elo said.

When Löfven was asked how he is dealing with the real concerns and demands of the citizenry, his answer was laconic: "Of course I understand there is concern," Löfven said. "It is not easy. But at the same time -- there are 60 million people on the run. This is also about them being our fellow men, and I hope that viewpoint will prevail."

The daily tabloid Expressen asked Löfven about the attacks on asylum facilities. He replied, "Our communities should not be characterized by threats and violence, they should be warm and show solidarity."

As if such behavior can be forced.

Many Swedes see mass immigration as a forced marriage: Sweden is forced to marry a man she did not choose, yet she is expected to love and honor him even though he beats her and treats her badly. And on top of that, her parents (the government) tell her to be warm and show solidarity with him.

More and more Swedish commentators are now drawing the same conclusion: that Sweden is teetering on the brink of collapse. Editorial columnist Ivar Arpi of the daily Svenska Dagbladet, wrote an astonishing article on October 26, about a woman named Alexandra von Schwerin and her husband. The couple lives on the Skarhults Estate farm in Skåne in southern Sweden; they have been robbed three times. Most recently, they were robbed of a quad bike, a van and a car. When the police arrived, von Schwerin asked them what she should do. The police told her that they could not help her. "All our resources are on loan to the asylum reception center in Trelleborg and Malmö," they said. "We are overloaded right now. So I suggest you get in touch with the vigilante group in Eslöv."

I'm sorry King of Utopia, but NOT ALL MEN are the same.  Some molest children, some murder, some rape, some abuse drugs, some are just plain mean, some are abusive to women, etc...

And SOME have no desire to become Swedes...but have actually come into your country with plans on abusing your tolerance and social welfare to set up their own desired form of government!  And that government of their dreams is hitched tightly to their religious book called the Koran.

Yes Sweden, your misunderstanding of human nature may end up costing you a whole lot more than you believed it would.

Deny God Exists...or You Fail

Imagine sending your 12 year old daughter to public school one day only to discover that one of her teachers, whose salary is paid for with your tax dollars, was telling her she had to deny the existence of God or he would fail her from the class.

"Dennis, what country would that ever happen in?"

Turns out it happened right here!...in Texas, USA.

A seventh-grader in Texas has told officials her teacher gave her an assignment requiring her to say God is a myth – or receive a failing grade. Jordan Wooley told her story before the West Memorial Junior High School Board (see video below). She said students in the class who argued in favor of saying God is real were threatened with punishment.

Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute contends Jordan's and the other students' free-speech rights were violated.

"For any teacher in any public school to require a seventh-grader to disavow their belief in God is a clear violation of not only the First Amendment, the Establishment Clause, the Exercise Clause, and the Free Speech clause – but it's a clear breech of public trust," he states.

School officials contend they couldn't find anyone to back up Jordan's story, but parents say that's because they weren't trying hard enough. As Dacus notes, Jordan wasn't alone in her accusation.

"The school district reportedly is denying that this took place, yet there was more than one student in the classroom. There were other students – and another girl went home crying to her parents," the attorney explains.

"The school district can pretend it didn't happen and they can pretend the exam didn't exist, but the evidence is compelling to the contrary."

Superintendent Alton Frailey has since apologized to Jordan. Governor Greg Abbott has invited her to the governor's mansion this Saturday to share her story.

If you haven't been preparing yourselves and your families for persecution....you better start.

Of course some Christians are being tortured and raped as part of their persecution...and some are fired from jobs or ridiculed in school.  All are counted as persecution but of course some is much worse than others.

The Bible promises that all who love Christ will suffer.  We are now living in a country where Bible believing, church attending, God-fearing, Christ accepting people are in the minority.  Satan hates folks like us and so he will begin using all the folks around us, who have rejected God, to begin to do his dirty work.

These people have rejected God and falsely convinced themselves that Mother Nature simply created all the glorious creation by random chance.  Once people do that, Romans 1 tells us that God will ultimately give their minds over to foolishness....and once their minds are mush...Satan and his demons have some fertile ground.  And one of the first thoughts he plants is to disdain folks who hold to the truth that the Bible (in it's original form of Hebrew and Greek) is the fully inspired Word of God...valuable for preaching, teaching, admonishing and leading into righteousness those who have been called.

The Next Generation Won't Know What Money Is

The Bible tells of a time in the very last days when some type of cashless system will be in place over most of the world.  People who want to buy or sell anything won't reach in their wallets for a $20 bill but instead will swipe their hand or forehead in front of a scanner and their account will be debited or credited.

Of course the folks reading the Bible even 40 years ago could have NEVER fathomed how this would come to pass....but now the top guy at Apple is saying that system is coming fast.

Apple boss: Next generation of children 'will not know what money is'

Tim Cook, the chief executive of technology giant, forecast the death of cash by the time current university students have a family.

Cash is still used for more than half of payments by consumers, according to Payments UK, the industry body, but its popularity is falling as people switch to cards and smartphone apps such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

Answering questions from students at Trinity College Dublin, Mr Cook said: "Your kids will not know what money is."

In an outspoken address, he also vowed to deepen his fight against the so-called snooper's charter. Mr Cook reiterated comments made to The Telegraph this week, stating that his company was commitment to full protection of customers' data from hackers.

"We plan to continue to encrypt end to end with no back door," he said. "We will productively work with the governments to try to convince them that's also in their best interests in the national security sense."

His views on the future of money represent one of the boldest predictions on the decline of traditional coins and notes.

Paper money is expensive to make, expensive to transfer, spreads germs and is the favored medium of drug dealers, prostitutes and sex slavery.  At some point in the not distant future, governments will simply cease to issue it.

Already today we have just a tiny amount of legal transactions that are carried out with cash.  People would rather scan their iPhones, use credit cards and debit cards.  Few people actually receive paychecks anymore as the $00's are much easier to just electronically deposit into your checking account.

Certainly we can see the writing on the wall on one day the Antichrist will sit over a system that requires a special mark to buy or sell anything.

Gorbachev Says America Wanted to Rule the World but Lost Its Way

Do you remember the Russian President named Mikhail Gorbachev who was around with Reagan and oversaw the fall of the Berlin Wall that ended the Cold War?

Well, believe it or not, he isn't dead and just gave an interview to RT, which is like the Russian version of CNN.

If you have 20 minutes you should watch this interview.  Gorbachev seems pretty concerned that Russia and the US could end up with a confrontation over Syria.

He also talks about nuclear weapons and how powerful they have become and how easily they could destroy nations.

He then talks about how President Eisenhower warned about the Military Industrial Complex in the USA and how they demand more and more money to buy more and more stuff and build more and more bases until it has become a gorilla too big to feed.....then what??

Just one more voice pointing to the fact that America has some vast, systemic problems and yet most Americans are oblivious to how near we are standing next to the abyss.

As you read the Old Testament and reflect on the history of God's chosen people...remember that God used godless-heathen nations to overthrow and discipline His people.  In the same way, please remember that God can use any nation He chooses to overthrow America if that is His will.

One final point that is very ironic.  The Christians in Syria actually support Bashar Al Assad as President because he has allowed them to practice Christianity for decades.  But USA is saying Assad must go.  So now Russia shows up and starts bombing Assad's enemies and now the Christians there are thinking that Putin's Russia might be their savior!!

So the Christians in Syria may well believe that America is a force for Satan and Russia is a force for good!!

What????  Friends, ONLY in an upside down world of Alice in Wonderland does this scenario make sense.

"You Can't Trust the Muslims"

Here is an interesting story that was done last week on CBS Evening News about the Christians being decimated in Iraq.

Not sure how many people care...or how many people yawned and turned it to Entertainment Tonight...but kudos to CBS for not editing this woman when she says, "You can't trust the Muslims."

ALQOSH, Iraq --Mayada Abdul Rhani and her children fled their home after Islamic militants overran Mosul and the neighboring villages.

As a Christian she was forced to make a stark decision: convert to Islam, or face execution.

Now, she told CBS News she doesn't trust any Muslims.

"They recruit and train kids like mine to behead people," Rhani said. "How could I ever live with those people? It was difficult to live with them before ISIS, now it's impossible."

Like thousands of others, she fled to the village of Alqosh, where the entire population is Christian.

The site is also home to the Saint Hormizd monastery, carved out of the mountainside. Its origins date back to the 7th century.

It's one of the oldest symbols of Christianity in the region -- and as ISIS forces Christians out of Mosul and surrounding villages below, it's becoming one of the last.

For the thousands of Christian refugees, it's not just ISIS, known in the region as 'Daesh," that's keeps them from going back. Father Gazwan Baho said people were shocked by the betrayal of Muslim neighbors they'd known for generations.

"Many of them were supporting Daesh," Baho said. "So we know that Daesh will go away from Iraq, maybe not this year, but the next, but the mentality of Daesh will remain in Mosul."

Rhani said even if ISIS is one day defeated, she'll never go back. For Christians, she said, Iraq is gone.

Are we supposed to pray for our enemies?

Yes.

Are we supposed to love our enemies and feel pity for them since they are lost without Christ?

Are we supposed to be stupid and ignorant about HOW our enemy works?

Obama is LGBT Cover Boy of the Year

Cool!  First he gets a Nobel Peace Prize for doing basically nothing and now he is getting another tremendous accolade!

Let's listen to Apostle Paul when he was informed that Corinthians had a man in their church who was sleeping with his step-mother.  Instead of being ashamed they were actually proud of the tolerance they were showing him!

Friends, I realize that we are not supposed to judge the people outside the church and that God will take care of that.  So it shouldn't surprise us as we see all the unsaved people embracing every kind of perversion known under the sun....but when WE become citizens of a nation that is celebrating perversion, WE should not be surprised when our nation is judged because of it.

Fed Rules Boy Has to Dress in Girl's Locker Room

So here is the deal....a young man, with penis and testicles, has decided that he feels like a woman. So he asks if he can change with the girls in their locker room...since that would make him feel more comfortable.

In response, the school allows it but asks him to change behind a curtain they installed so that some of the young women aren't forced to see his penis and testicles.

The young man then reports this 'travesty' to some LGBT people who run it up the flag pole and now the district has been ordered to remove the curtain and force these young women to view his penis and testicles or the school district may lose Federal funding.

Remember friends, if you AREN'T LGBT the world isn't really concerned about whether you are offended by being made to change in the same room with a member of the opposite sex...they are ONLY concerned about the LGBT individual and his or her feelings.

A school district near Chicago, Palatine 211, provides numerous accommodations for transgender students. The district calls the students by requested names, honors selected gender (including allowing them to play on the sports teams of the gender they identify as belonging to), and permits them to use single-sex bathrooms, since stalls ensure privacy.

But the federal government has decided that the district is still guilty of violating Title IX, the law prohibiting sex-based discrimination, over certain locker room restrictions.

“District 211 is not excluding transgender students from their gender-identified locker room,” said district superintendent Daniel Cates in a statement. “Though our position has been inaccurately reported, a transgender student may use his or her gender-identified locker room simply by utilizing individual measures of privacy when changing clothes or taking showers.”

That’s unacceptable to the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights.

“All students deserve the opportunity to participate equally in school programs and activities—this is a basic civil right. Unfortunately, Township High School District 211 is not following the law because the district continues to deny a female student the right to use the girls’ locker room,” said Catherine Lhamon, assistant secretary for civil rights at the Department of Education, in a statement.

According to the Associated Press, “District 211 has 30 days to change the policy, or risk losing millions in federal funding.”

Terrific.

As Cates, the superintendent, puts it bluntly in his statement: “The students in our schools are teenagers, not adults, and one’s gender is not the same as one’s anatomy. Boys and girls are in separate locker rooms—where there are open changing areas and open shower facilities—for a reason.”

Students should not be forced to share open changing areas with students who retain the anatomy of a different sex, even if such students identify as being the same sex. This is just common sense. It also honors the privacy rights of students, who understandably may feel uncomfortable with open area changing that includes students of both biological sexes.

In a report released Monday, the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights acknowledged the arguments made by District 211 regarding the privacy rights of the non-transgender students:

The District raised two specific constitutional privacy concerns. First, the District contends that ‘permitting Student A to be present in the locker room would expose female students to being observed in a state of undress by a biologically male individual.’ The District’s second stated privacy concern is that it would be inappropriate for young female students to view a naked male in the locker room in a state of undress. The District stated that ‘[g]ranting Student A the option to change her clothes in the girls’ locker room would expose female students as young as fifteen years of age to a biologically male body.’

The Department of Education’s response? “OCR [Office of Civil Rights] finds the concerns unavailing in this case.”

It’s clear that the federal government is putting the preferences of transgender students ahead of the privacy rights of other students. That’s discrimination—against students who, reasonably and fairly, don’t want to be forced into intimate situations with those of the opposite sex biologically.

Friends, there simply will be no end to the crazy stories we will next read about....

Think about this irony....if a girl were to have a picture of a fellow student's penis and testicles on her cell phone and then forward it to a friend, she could be guilty of various child-porn laws.  BUT if she refuses to actually dress next to or shower with the same boy's penis and testicles then SHE could be guilty of all types of hate, intolerance and bigotry.

Down is now up and up is now down.

There can be no further doubt that this nation has lost its foundations....and it's only a matter of time before it implodes on itself.

Let's say that a man was arrested and sent to prison.  While in prison he decides he is woman and demands to be resettled in a woman's prison.  The Fed obliges and moves the man to a woman's prison.  Once there the man start's engaging in all kinds of sex acts with the women prisoners whenever he has the opportunity.  Eventually he is caught and they ask him how he can be engaging in sex acts with women if he claims to be a woman??   Of course his answer would be, "I'm a lesbian!".....and the Fed could not possibly have any recourse against such a claim!

Now think of the confusion when the first people announce that they are bi-transgendered.  What's that??  Well, it's people who sometimes identify as men and sometimes as women but they refuse to be isolated to only one gender identification.  They want two driver's licenses so they can use whichever one that properly identifies their feelings that day.  They will demand to be moved from prison to prison and locker room to locker room based on their feelings of gender they have on any particular day.

Pandora's box regarding gender has been totally blown wide open!  There will be no end to the crazy and confusing requests that will be forthcoming....and there will NEVER be a way to roll back to more traditional times of just a few years ago....no matter WHO is elected.

For this reason and others, I believe that this nation has crossed the POINT OF NO RETURN.  We now just waiting for God to say, "Enough!!"

Rabbi Says Messiah Could Come This Week

Remember friends, the observant Jews are still looking for Messiah to come because they never accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah.

Jesus told us that as His return nears we should expect false messiahs and false prophets to appear.  Of course the ultimate false Messiah will be the Antichrist....which the Jews will accept as Messiah and allow him into The Temple (which is yet to be built).

So this headline is pretty interesting.

Rabbi Kanievsky: Messiah Could Come This Week

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky is one of the most prominent rabbis of this generation. He is a leader of the Haredi branch of Judaism and the author of numerous authoritative books on Jewish law. In a distinctly uncharacteristic manner, he has recently begun making declarations of the Messiah’s imminent arrival.

In a YouTube video posted on November 2nd of a recent lecture by Rabbi Shlomo Boyer, a respected teacher in Bnei Brak, Rabbi Boyer described how Rabbi Shteinman, the leader of Lithuanian Judaism, was about to travel to America for pressing reasons. He went to Rabbi Kanievsky to receive a blessing for a safe journey and success.

Rabbi Kanievsky replied that he should not travel, saying, “It very well could be the Messiah will come this week. He can come at any moment. He is here with us already. Don’t travel.”

Rabbi Kanievsky has dedicated his life to Torah study and is generally not given to messianic or bombastic proclamations, but in the last year, this has changed dramatically. Last year, Rabbi Kanievsky announced the Messiah would come when the Shmittah year ended, which occurred on the Jewish New Year on September 13th. In August, the rabbi advised a young man,  “Gather your family and come to Israel.  Otherwise, there won’t be enough room for you on the airplanes.”  In April, close associates quoted him as instructing listeners to, “Yell it from the loudspeakers.The Messiah is at the door.”

When asked what needs to be done to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, the Rabbi replied that Jews must strengthen their belief and trust in God.

After the massacre of Jews in the synagogue in Har Nof last November, Rabbi Kanievsky was asked to give some words of comfort to the people. He replied that the deaths were an atonement before the arrival of the Messiah, which would be arriving shortly.

Wow!!  When the Jews start looking for the Messiah...it seems like one more clue that a convergence of events seems to be happening.

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

So the Rabbi mentioned above, who is trusted by many Jews, could be one of the false prophets that Jesus alluded to.

Remember friends, when Jesus comes for his bride, the church, it will be like a thief in the night!! Boom!!  The trumpet will blow and we will be gone!!

But his return to earth will be an event the entire world will witness.  There will be NO MISTAKING that the Creator of the Universe has just arrived to set up shop on planet earth....so he most definitely will not be sneaking into town as this Rabbi suggests.

90% Sure That Bomb Downed Russian Plane

Of course we all know that Russia cruised into Syria a few weeks ago to support President Bashar Al Assad and are bombing ISIS and even U.S. led rebels in the process.

So when a Russian passenger jet got shot down last week over Egypt, ISIS claimed responsibility and now investigators are saying they are 90% sure it was a bomb the downed the plane.

One has to wonder what Russia (Putin) will do if they confirm it was an ISIS-planted bomb that killed the Russian passengers?  Could an event like this be the "hook in the jaw" that draws them into the Middle East to stay?....so that God can decimate their army at some point in the (near?) future? They are only a few miles from the Israeli border and now that Israel has discovered huge natural gas reserves in the Mediterranean Sea and huge oil reserves in the Golan Heights (which Syria claims is it's land)....we can now guess that Israel's energy reserves is the "booty" mentioned that Russia comes looking for.

The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’

Most prophecy watchers believe this event will happen AFTER Christ comes for his bride.  Some think it will happen AFTER the rapture but BEFORE the Antichrist signs the peace agreement with Israel which officially kicks of the FINAL 7 YEARS before Christ returns to earth.

The mystery of this passage is in verse 11 above when Gog says he will attack Israel who are a "peaceful and unsuspecting--all of them living without walls and without gates and bars."

That certainly doesn't apply to the Israel of today....BUT....after the Rapture the Antichrist will clearly win over the Israelis and maybe as the peace agreement nears the Israelis will begin to believe they are living in a time of peace and safety?
