Weary Remnant Watchmen?

 I know many of you listen to Jan Markell.  Here is some further encouragement for those of us who have been watching and waiting for so many years for the trumpet to blow and Jesus to snatch His bride and take her to the place He has prepared.

Yes. We hear from you daily. You’ve been listening for a trumpet and a shout for years (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). You feel like you have a stiff neck from looking up. How much longer, Lord?

Your circle of friends and family you can talk to is shrinking. There are few in your church—if you have one—who share your desire to understand the times and be a watchman on the wall. People have a love affair with this world and won’t let go.

Most think life “will return to normal.” Many focus on forthcoming elections to turn things around. A greater number believe in a coming awakening or revival to turn the tide. Today’s so-called prophets insist that is on the horizon as they put all end-time focus on the Church. Yet today’s church is in Laodicea.

Rather than push against this tide, many become more isolated, and a great many feel they can’t hang on much longer.

That’s why we have done regular Understanding the Times events for years, to bring people up-to-date on current issues, apologetics, and directing folks to headlines that are a herald of His coming! We also want to provide a small community of like-minded believers who can “encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:25). 

Yes, we are trending towards the Tribulation, to be sure! But that ordeal—the Time of Jacob’s Trouble—is for the unbelieving world, not the Christian. The apocalypse is in the air. Nothing works right, but that is by design.

Video of Chinese Drone Dropping Off Robo-Dogs

We recently watched the movie Hacksaw Ridge which takes place in WWII and has lots of scenes where soldiers are mowing down soldiers with a barrage of machine gun fire.  We are pretty sure that WWIII will not have men storming beaches like they did in Normandy.  But just imagine if an army could have 1 million drones flying silently into enemy territory and then delivering 1 million robot dogs mounted with night vision and machine guns and afraid of nothing?  It would be terrifying and would take war to a whole new place.  As the video says, “The future is now”

 Footage of a Chinese-made drone carrying a ‘robot dog’ that is armed with a machine gun has started to make its rounds on social media, and it looks like it was taken straight out of a dystopian war movie. It isn’t immediately clear if the video was recorded as part of a Chinese military exercise or rather in an effort to demonstrate how the pairing will operate, but even without that context, the clip could serve as a foretelling of the technology that may populate future battlegrounds.

The one-minute video was originally posted yesterday to Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging website, by a user either affiliated with or representing the local defense company that reportedly develops the drone being used to deploy the robodog. 

The footage begins with a shot of the drone as it approaches the rooftop of a building in a nondescript urban area with the compact armed robot dog being carried under the drone’s frame. The drone, acting as a robotic dropship of sorts, then lands atop the roof, releases the robodog, and flies away. Shortly thereafter the robodog unfurls from its folded position and begins navigating its new surroundings with what looks to be a Chinese QBB-97 light machine gun (designated as Type 95 LGM in the United States) mounted on its back.

The Weibo account, which is verified by the platform, has the username ‘Kestrel Defense Blood-Wing’ and shared the video on the site accompanied with a description that offers limited but nonetheless additional information. The account seems to be directly affiliated with the Chinese Kestrel Defense company, also called China Kestrel Defense in some instances, although it isn’t clear what exactly ‘Blood-Wing’ is in reference to. It is important to note as well that all of the details extracted from Weibo have been machine translated from Chinese to English, meaning some terms and phrases may not be accurately communicated.

600 Levites Rehearse for 3rd Temple

The chatter around the 3rd Temple seems to have really picked up steam in the past few months.  It seems that lately an article about events surrounding the 3rd Temple are happening about every other day.  Many prophecy watchers believe that followers of Christ will have been raptured before the 3rd Temple is actually built.  While we can’t know that sure, there can be no doubt that the 3rd Temple activity is a HUGE sign that earth is in its very last days.  What a privilege to be born and live in “times like these”.

On Thursday night, 600 Jewish men from the tribe of Levi held a rehearsal on the steps leading up to the Temple Mount to prepare to play their role in providing the musical accompaniment for the Third Temple service.

Israel365 News correspondent Joshua Wander spoke with Yitzchak Weiss, who arranged the music and is one of the organizers of the event or, in his own words, “the father of this idea.”

“The idea is to bring back the singing of the Levites and to renew it,” Weis said. 

 He explained that the idea first came to him when he was the principal of the Mizmor music school in Givat Washington. The school was opened in 2010 for the purpose of developing higher learning in music for Observant Jews.  

“I wanted to make something special for Jewish music, not just to learn music to be a singer” eiss explained. “I asked myself what is the essence, the plus that we can give to music. We thought about composing music to the text of the Bible that the Levites were singing in the Temple and to make [comtemporary] music for it. We started the project, giving some students to compose music. And then we thought, why shouldn’t we make a living choir.”

Russia Using Iranian Drones for War

 The cooperation between Russia and Iran continues just as Ezekiel said it would in the very Last Days.

Russia’s use of Iranian drones in Ukraine is growing and it is clear that the threat now must be taken seriously – not just in the Middle East or Ukraine, but on a global scale.

This is because Iranian-style drones have also been exported, either in pieces or their blueprints, to the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah and Hamas. They now have much larger ranges than in the past and new technology that enables more precise strikes.

As the world watches the war in Ukraine, everyone is beginning to understand that drones are not just a growing threat, but that Iran’s are increasingly a threat to the region and the world.

Trans Men Don’t have to Register for Draft

 The foolishness continues.  As our enemies prepare soldiers to fight us, the woke politicians continue to come up with stupid things to make our military as woke as they are.

Under President Joe Biden’s administration, transgender women who are born male must register for the Selective Service, which provides the Defense Department with troops in the event of a military draft. Transgender men who are born female do not have to register for the Selective Service. While the policy was established before Biden took office, the Biden administration has not changed the standard. 

According to the Selective Service System website, nearly “all male US citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.” The website states that all biological males must register for the draft, including “U.S. citizens or immigrants who are born male and have changed their gender to female.”

Jews Continue Practicing for 3rd Temple

 The religious Jews in Israel continue to prepare and practice for the coming of messiah.  Of course the soon to be built Temple is at the middle of their preparations.  They continue to practice Temple ceremonies because they know that their messiah is close!  Of course followers of Jesus know the Jews rejected him as messiah and their preparations are actually paving the way to accept Antichrist.  This should encourage us as one more sign that the rapture of the church is closer than it has ever been.

The ceremony culminated in the priestly blessing after which the once-in-seven-years Hakhel ceremony was held.

Though not explicitly mandated in the Torah, the water libation is part of the oral tradition passed down from Moses. Sukkot is a joyous holiday and the water libation was the focal point of this joy. In the Temple, the ceremony would take fifteen hours with accompanying celebrations lasting all night until the Temple servicebegan again the next morning. Nations came from around the world to take part in the Sukkoth celebrations making it international worship of  God.

In Temple times, a libation of water was made together with the pouring out of wine at the morning service on the last six days of the week-long Sukkot holiday. Kohanim descended from the Temple to the Shiloach Spring at the base of Mount Moriah, where they filled the flask with three log of spring water (approximately two pints) and returned to the Temple.

It should be noted that the year after Shemitah is auspicious for the arrival of the Messiah. The Babylonian Talmud in the Tractate of Sanhedrin, 97a, brings the verse from Amos:

“On that day, will I raise up the fallen booth (Sukkah) of David.”Amos 9:11

This verse comes in the context of a prophecy about God bringing the nation of Israel back from exile among the nations. Amidst descriptions of the days preceding the Messiah, the Talmud says:

“As it is written, in that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen. Our Rabbis taught: in the seven-year cycle at the end of which the son of David will come in the first year, this verse will be fulfilled.”

On Rosh Hashanna, two weeks ago, the Shemittah (Sabbatical year) ended. The Talmud is stating explicitly that the Messiah will come in the first year after the Shemitah.  It should be noted that the Talmud describes the days before the Messiah in-depth, and they are especially difficult times.

“We’ll Have Fun in Hell!”

 Have you ever heard someone say, “I want to go to hell!  Cuz that’s where my friends will be!”

Now check out the first 20 seconds of this video recorded at Howard Stern’s birthday bash.  Steven Tyler of Aerosmith tells Howard, “Here’s to hell!  I hope we have as much fun there as we did here!”  To which Howard replies, “Oh, we’re definitely going there!”

Millions, maybe billions, of people are going to be surprised when they show up in hell.  It won’t be a keg party. It won’t be wild sex with strangers.  It won’t be smoking weed with your homies while playing video games.  It will be terrible, awful, lonely and even physically painful.  And the worst part will be that their brain will quickly realize that this miserable experience they are having will never end.

So for Howard and his buddies, hell is no joking matter.

Opening the Door for Polygamy

 We knew it would be coming.  I had to!  How can you say you support equal rights for bisexuals and yet say they have to choose only one sex to marry?  How can you not support a man who says he was BORN with the desire to love more than one woman by NOT granting him the right to marry more than one woman?

According to CBN News, Bacdayan ruled late last month that a man in a polyamorous relationship had the same rights that other married individuals had regarding housing.

The Washington Examiner reported that Scott Anderson and Robert Romano were married to each other and had been “life partners” for 25 years. Despite the typical entanglements like joint bank accounts and being named as beneficiaries on each other’s retirement accounts, they lived separately “to provide them comfort and space.”

A third individual named Markyus O’Neill moved into Anderson’s rent-controlled apartment in 2012, one year after beginning a relationship with him. While Romano knew of the relationship, he wasn’t friends with O’Neill and disapproved of the arrangement.

When Anderson died, O’Neill was denied the opportunity to renew the rent-controlled lease. He sued, arguing the polyamorous relationship made him a “non-traditional family member.”

Bacdayan agreed, writing in her Sept. 23 ruling that “the time has arrived” for courts to recognize such arrangements as legally binding even — if there’s no legal undergirding to them.

“The existence of a triad should not automatically dismiss respondent’s claim to noneviction protections,” she wrote in her decision. “What was ‘normal’ or ‘nontraditional’ in 1989 is not a barometer for what is normal or nontraditional now. Indeed, the definition of ‘family’ has morphed considerably since 1989. Specifically, many articles have been written about multi-person relationships in recent years, revealing a preference that for some has long been known.”
