Alan Greenspan Urges Return to Gold Standard

How come every nation can't just print paper money and hand it out to everyone so they can all go buy enough food, clothes, housing and automobiles to get along?

You would be amazed at the number of people who will just look at you with a bewildered look when you ask them that.

Most of us have NO IDEA how the Federal Reserve and the Central Banks of the world "create" money out of thin air!  They don't even bother printing it into paper because most of our financial transactions are all done electronically anyway.

But we know that trillions of dollars, yen, Euros and pounds have been created in these past 8 years.  It's called MONETARY EASING.

Today we find that Alan Greenspan is warning us that a crisis has been made and that our fabricated money might end up causing us some real problems.

Alan Greenspan, the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve has warned that Brexit was a “terrible outcome in all respects” and that we are in the “early days of a crisis.” U.K. policy makers miscalculated and made a “terrible mistake” in holding a referendum on whether to quit the European Union, Greenspan said.

That decision led to a “terrible outcome in all respects,” Greenspan, said in an interview with Bloomberg Surveillance yesterday in Washington.

“It didn’t have to happen,” Greenspan said. He warned that it is now likely that Scotland, whose majority of voters wanted to stay in the EU, will have another referendum on its own independence. He predicted such a vote would be successful, and Northern Ireland would “probably” go the same way.

He also warned about the massive entitlements and unfunded liabilities in the U.S. and western world. The U.S. national debt is heading rapidly towards $19 trillion but the U.S. also has unfunded liabilities estimated to be between $100 trillion and $200 trillion.

“The issue is essentially that entitlements are legal issues. They have nothing to do with economics. You reach a certain age or you are ill or something of that nature and you are entitled to certain expenditures out of the budget without any reference to how it’s going to be funded. Where the productivity levels are now, we are lucky to get something even close to two percent annual growth rate. That annual growth rate of two percent is not adequate to finance the existing needs.”

“I don’t know how it’s going to resolve, but there’s going to be a crisis.”

He warns that the crisis will likely lead to inflation:

“I know if you look at human history, there are times and times again where we thought that there was no inflation and everything was just going fine. And I just basically say, wait. This is not the way this thing ordinarily comes up. I don’t know. I cannot say I see it on the horizon. In fact, commodity prices are soggy. The oil prices has had a terrific impact on global inflation. It’s not about to emerge quickly, but I would not be surprised to see the next unexpected move to be on the inflation side. You don’t have inflation now. And you don’t have it until it happens.”

Finally, Greenspan advocates a return to the gold standard as a way to create financial, economic and monetary stability:

“If we went back on the gold standard and we adhered to the actual structure of the gold standard as it exited prior to 1913, we’d be fine. Remember that the period 1870 to 1913 was one of the most aggressive periods economically that we’ve had in the United States, and that was a golden period of the gold standard. I’m known as a gold bug and everyone laughs at me, but why do central banks own gold now?”

We have an idea that the global bankers of Western civilization will never be able to go back to the gold-standard.  They simply will never be able to wean themselves of the ease of which they "create" money to spend simply by turning on the printing press or creating $000's on their laptops.  If they were forced with being audited to prove they had enough gold in the vault to back up every "gold note" they had printed...they would be totally confined and couldn't keep up with all the social-spending promises they have made.

We have another idea that China has been buying gold by the hundreds of tons these past few years because they are getting pretty sick of London, New York and Brussels calling all the financial shots for the world.  We have an idea that China is putting together something that may very well challenge the USA and other Western banks as the world's RESERVE CURRENCY.

If this is all confusing to you...think about it like this.  Would you rather have in your hand a $100 bill from Venezuela or USA?  USA because Venezuela is collapsing and very few people even WANT a $100 bill from Venezuela because you can't buy a carton of eggs with it.

Now fast forward 5 years from now.  America has fallen into the trap of hyper-inflation and a $100 bill is falling in purchasing power every day and no longer buys lunch at McDonalds.  Plus it is falling fast every week.  Meanwhile, China has come out with a new currency that they PROVE is backed by gold sitting in their vault.

Which one are you going to want to hold for your future?  Which one would you have the most confidence in?

What will happen to America if we no longer have the confidence of the world at our backs lining up to buy our bonds and currency?  What will happen to America if she can no longer refinance $19 trillion of Treasury Bonds while selling $1 trillion per year of Treasury Bonds to finance our annual deficit?

"But Dennis, that could never happen here.  This is America!"

While people are saying "America!, Peace! and Safety!....destruction will come upon them suddenly.

I Hate Donald Trump. But He Might Get My Vote

A few day ago a liberal family member of mine posted on FB that he wanted to know how it was possible that "Christian leaders" were "rushing" to support Donald Trump.

I don't know if Christian leaders are rushing in....but I have heard some Christians say "anything but Hillary".  When pressed on why they would say that I have heard, "Because I honestly don't believe that the nation will survive another 4-8 years of Obama's agenda."

Many of us were hoping that Rubio, Cruz, Carson or Kasich were going to make it through....but clearly, enough conservative voters want someone from outside "politics as usual" and Donald Trump made it through.

I don't like some of the things Donald says and I don't like the way he says them.  His pride and arrogance are concerning to me....but with potentially 3 Supreme Court judge picks that could happen in the near future....we simply can't let Hillary be the one to pick them all and forever change the direction of this country.

The Donald might be a dangerous wild card....but he may at least listen to conservatives and Bible believers.  We know that isn't going to happen with Hillary.

I ran across this article from Washington Post yesterday and I believe you should all read it.  It is very well written and I know I saw some of myself in the article.

I hate Donald Trump. But he might get my vote.

No Trump campaign buttons or bumper stickers for me. I’m part of the new silent majority: those who don’t like Donald Trump but might vote for him anyway. For many of us, Trump has only one redeeming quality: He isn’t Hillary Clinton. He doesn’t want to turn the United States into a politically correct, free-milk-and-cookies, European-style social democracy where every kid (and adult, too) gets a trophy just for showing up.

Members of this new silent majority, many of us front-wave baby boomers, value hard work and love the United States the way it was. We long for a bygone era when you didn’t need “safe spaces” on college campuses to shelter students from the atrocity of dissenting opinions, lest their sensibilities be offended. We have the reckless notion that college is the one place where sensibilities are supposed to be challenged and debated. Silly us.

And please don’t try to stereotype us. We’re not uneducated, uninformed, unemployed or low-income zealots. We’re affluent, well-educated, gainfully employed and successfully retired. Some of us even own our own business, or did before we retired, creating not only our own job but also employment for others. While we’re fiscally conservative, we’re not tea partyers. And on certain social issues, many of us even have some leftward leanings. Shhhh . . .

Our view of the media is old-school, too — just the facts, please. Before his untimely death some years ago, Tim Russert of “Meet the Press” set the standard for “fair and balanced” by grilling both Democratic and Republican politicians in a way that never betrayed his personal political persuasions. That still works fine. It’s just damn hard to find.

The only pleasure the new silent majority has taken throughout this primary season has been watching progressives marinate in their own righteous indignation. They were giddy, like spoiled children opening Christmas presents, as they watched 17 Republican combatants call in airstrikes on one another. But eventually the tables turned as the Hillary-Bernie slugfest got ugly, and we took particular delight in the sourpuss expression on the faces of the lefties we know when they realized that the Republicans, left for dead, suddenly had new life and a chance to win the presidency.

We are under no illusions about Trump. We know that this Man Who Would Be King is a classic bully and a world-class demagogue in his personal, professional and political lives. He will continue to demonize his perceived enemies and take the low road at every opportunity.

So why then would rational, affluent, informed citizens consider voting for The Donald? Short of not voting at all — still an option some of us are considering — he’s the only one who appears to want to preserve the American way of life as we know it. For the new silent majority, the alternative to Trump is bleak: a wealthy, entitled progressive with a national security scandal in her hip pocket. In our view, the thought of four to eight more years of a progressive agenda polluting the American Dream is even more dangerous to the survival of this country than Trump is.

So come Nov. 8, you’ll find many of us sheepishly sneaking into voting booths across the United States. Even after warily pulling the curtain closed behind us, we’ll still be looking over our shoulders to make sure the deed is shielded from view. Then, fighting a gag reflex, we’ll pull the lever. We hate Donald Trump. But he just might get our vote.

Judeo-Christian Civilization Crumbling

Have you noticed how the anger is bubbling up in this country against anyone who is deemed a "fundamentalist" or "evangelical" Christian?

Of course you have.

So what's up?  How come our POTUS during past generations could openly quote from the Bible...but a POTUS today would probably be ridiculed and shouted down with threats of "separation of church and state!"

Could it be that the very foundations of our Judeo-Christian society are crumbling right before our eyes?

That rumbling you feel is Judeo-Christian civilization collapsing beneath your feet

It was a beautiful summer evening, with an occasional gentle breeze preventing it from becoming stifling. I was sitting on a restaurant patio with my wife, sipping ice-cold water and chatting about the week’s events while waiting for our food to arrive. Cheery chatter rose from the tables around us. The events we were discussing seemed almost weird and unreal in contrast with the pleasant Saturday evenings unfolding for the restaurant’s patrons. Everything seemed so normal.

A group of women brayed noisily one table over, loud cackles chasing each other out into the summer air. One of their group rose to her feet on ridiculous heels and teetered off like a new-born gazelle taking her first steps. To our left, a middle-aged man with a huge bushy moustache gripped an enormous burger with both hands, eyeing it like a saber-tooth tiger deliberating where to lunge at a mammoth. The others at his table weren’t talking much, just smiling into their sweating, frothing beer glasses and percolating peacefully.

All was calm, and all was right.

The normalcy seemed strange, because at our table we were discussing recent cultural developments—Christians being slowly forced to the margins of society, the increasing threat of government intrusion into Christian education, new strategies to combat abortion ideology, and how the country we hoped to raise children in one day was already so much different than the one our parents had raised us in. On the surface, though, everything seemed lovely, and pleasant, and thoroughly unalarming

No wonder that people who are not watching carefully treat those of us raising the alarm as if we’re crazy, I thought, or maybe just victims of the newest viral conspiracy-theory YouTube video.

Talk of “persecution” of Christians in the West sounds a bit ridiculous, especially with crucifixion coming back into style in the Middle East, North Koreans being publicly executed for owning Bibles, and Communist China mulling another crackdown on Christian churches. In contrast to that, Western Christians are, for the most part, still part of one of the richest generations in one of the wealthiest civilizations in all of human history.

And yet, the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West that brought such success and such prosperity have either been removed or are in the final stages of demolition. The sanctity of life is gone, but most of us have not noticed simply because we do not toss the corpses of the murdered out the front door into the street, but quietly deposit them in dumpsters behind clinics or vaporize them in modern, up-to-date incinerators. New ideologies have taken over our legal systems, and the short march to labelling Holy Scripture as Hate Speech has already begun. The number of citizens who still attend church or are even aware that Christianity was the life-blood of our civilization is plummeting.

Things may be peaceful for the moment, but the dark clouds in the distance bulge with thunder and the rumblings have already begun: Christian universities are told they are ineligible to start a law school because they believe what Christians have always believed, Christian medical professionals are told they will be forced to refer patients for killing, and Christian professionals are subjected to “formal investigations” at the slightest hint that they have violated the new secular religion. This is just the calm before the storm, but because Christians are so distracted with the high drama of ordinary day-to-day life, they may not hear the rumblings until thunder splits the sky.

These rumblings are there for those who listen enough to hear them, and they are unfolding as we go about our day, stress about our finances, pick up children from school, and go out for pleasant dinner dates. Our reality is changing.

Here;  https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/that-rumbling-you-feel-is-judeo-christian-civilization-collapsing-beneath-y

As the author points out, some 45 years ago a huge foundation crumbled when we legalized the murder of the most innocent humans right in their mother's womb.

Recently another huge foundation crumbled when we no longer called MARRIAGE the union between one man and one woman.

Soon the government will make it illegal for any Christian colleges and Universities to hire ONLY people who agree with their faith statement.

Soon it may be deemed as "illegal hate speech" to read Romans 1:28 which clearly warns of the perversion of gay sex.

Following that, it may then be illegal to read the passages from the Bible which warn against adultery, fornication, polygamy, bestiality or any other sinful behavior.

The gay-marriage legalization came like a flood...so don't be surprised if the rest comes like a flood as well.

The cry of the godless will come today as it has at other points in human history...."Who needs God? We can run this country better without him!"

New York Times Discusses Aliens From Space

As we have blogged about numerous times over these past 8+ years....mankind has been quickly accepting of the idea that lots of intelligent life forms has successfully evolved all over the universe.

It makes sense if you believe that life can form out of rocks, water and pond scum.

We believe that this belief is part of a huge deception which Satan and his minions have been cooking up for quite some time now.

Today, we find that the New York Times has an article discussing how irrational a person would have to be to deny that life evolved elsewhere.

LAST month astronomers from the Kepler spacecraft team announced the discovery of 1,284 new planets, all orbiting stars outside our solar system. The total number of such “exoplanets” confirmed via Kepler and other methods now stands at more than 3,000.

This represents a revolution in planetary knowledge. A decade or so ago the discovery of even a single new exoplanet was big news. Not anymore. Improvements in astronomical observation technology have moved us from retail to wholesale planet discovery. We now know, for example, that every star in the sky likely hosts at least one planet.

But planets are only the beginning of the story. What everyone wants to know is whether any of these worlds has aliens living on it. Does our newfound knowledge of planets bring us any closer to answering that question?

A little bit, actually, yes. In a paper published in the May issue of the journal Astrobiology, the astronomer Woodruff Sullivan and I show that while we do not know if any advanced extraterrestrial civilizations currently exist in our galaxy, we now have enough information to conclude that they almost certainly existed at some point in cosmic history.

Among scientists, the probability of the existence of an alien society with which we might make contact is discussed in terms of something called the Drake equation. In 1961, the National Academy of Sciences asked the astronomer Frank Drake to host a scientific meeting on the possibilities of “interstellar communication.” Since the odds of contact with alien life depended on how many advanced extraterrestrial civilizations existed in the galaxy, Drake identified seven factors on which that number would depend, and incorporated them into an equation.

The first factor was the number of stars born each year. The second was the fraction of stars that had planets. After that came the number of planets per star that traveled in orbits in the right locations for life to form (assuming life requires liquid water). The next factor was the fraction of such planets where life actually got started. Then came factors for the fraction of life-bearing planets on which intelligence and advanced civilizations (meaning radio signal-emitting) evolved. The final factor was the average lifetime of a technological civilization.

Drake’s equation was not like Einstein’s E=mc2. It was not a statement of a universal law. It was a mechanism for fostering organized discussion, a way of understanding what we needed to know to answer the question about alien civilizations. In 1961, only the first factor — the number of stars born each year — was understood. And that level of ignorance remained until very recently.

That’s why discussions of extraterrestrial civilizations, no matter how learned, have historically boiled down to mere expressions of hope or pessimism. What, for example, is the fraction of planets that form life? Optimists might marshal sophisticated molecular biological models to argue for a large fraction. Pessimists then cite their own scientific data to argue for a fraction closer to 0. But with only one example of a life-bearing planet (ours), it’s hard to know who is right.

Or consider the average lifetime of a civilization. Humans have been using radio technology for only about 100 years. How much longer will our civilization last? A thousand more years? A hundred thousand more? Ten million more? If the average lifetime for a civilization is short, the galaxy is likely to be unpopulated most of the time. Once again, however, with only one example to draw from, it’s back to a battle between pessimists and optimists.

In other words, given what we now know about the number and orbital positions of the galaxy’s planets, the degree of pessimism required to doubt the existence, at some point in time, of an advanced extraterrestrial civilization borders on the irrational.

In science an important step forward can be finding a question that can be answered with the data at hand. Our paper did just this. As for the big question — whether any other civilizations currently exist — we may have to wait a long while for relevant data. But we should not underestimate how far we have come in a short time.

Here;  http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/12/opinion/sunday/yes-there-have-been-aliens.html?WT.mc_id=2016-KWP-AUD_DEV&WT.mc_ev=click&ad-keywords=AUDDEVREMARK&kwp_0=168169&kwp_4=687658&kwp_1=350076&_r=0

Hey friends, the Bible clearly tells us that there is other intelligent life out in the universe...the angels would be a prime example.

So what have these angels been doing over the eons?

Well we know that some are given to followers of Christ as ministering spirits...but we also know that 1/3 of the created angelic host rebelled against God and are led by Lucifer, aka Satan.  We also know that Satan is vastly intelligent.

So what is fallen mankind going to say when (if?) fallen angels show up on earth one day and tell us,
"We come in peace!  We are here to stop you from destroying each other with hatred and weapons!  We planted your life forms here eons ago and have been monitoring your development very closely ever since!  We know of Jesus.  He is one of us!  But you have the whole story wrong about his virgin birth to Mary, his death on a cross for you so-called sins and his claimed resurrection.  In fact, he should be coming here soon and you can all meet him for yourselves!"

Jesus warned us not to be deceived!  Paul warned us about angels giving another doctrine of demons that doesn't line up with the Gospel we all know!  Paul warned us to TEST THE SPIRITS before we run and believe anything they say!

1 Timothy 4:1
The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

Turkey and Russia Bury the Hatchet...so do Israel and Turkey

Last year Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet that supposedly strayed into Turkish air space while bombing "militants" in Syria.

Needless to say, Putin was not happy.

Many of us wondered how this event was going to play into the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy that many prophecy watchers believe mentions Russia, Iran and Turkey leading a coalition against Israel.  It seemed like two huge steps back for any Russian-Turkish cooperation.

Today we find out they just made friends again....so maybe prophecy can also take one step forward, two steps back or two steps forward, one step back?

But please also notice that while Russia and Turkey have buried the hatchet...SO HAS TURKEY AND ISRAEL!!

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan are too alike to remain enemies for long. On Monday, the Kremlin's official website published excerpts from Erdogan's letter to Putin in which the Turkish leader apologizes for the downing of a Russian warplane in November and offers compensation to the dead pilot's family.

There may be economic reasons for the unexpected apology, but the two leaders' ideological closeness -- and their interest in doing deals -- probably also helped end the spat.

After the Russian plane flying a mission in Syria briefly crossed the border into Turkey and was downed by the Turkish air force, Putin demanded an apology and an offer to compensate Russia for the damage, but Erdogan insisted that it was Putin who should apologize for the airspace violation. Both sides accused each other of backing terrorists in Syria; at times, the rhetoric appeared too heated for the rift ever to be healed.

To punish Turkey, Moscow shut down package tours to Turkey, forbade Turkish construction firms to build in Russia and banned Turkish fruit, vegetable and poultry. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development estimated last year that the Russian sanctions would cut Turkey's economic growth between 0.3 to 0.7 percentage points in 2016, but Erdogan was undeterred.

The number of Russian visitors to Antalya, in previous years one of Russians' favorite seaside destinations, dropped 95 percent this year. It would have been tolerable -- Turkey traditionally gets about five times more tourists from Europe than Russia -- but this year Britons and Germans are also staying away because of perceived security threats, so the total number of tourists is down 45  percent compared with last year. This could have influenced Erdogan's turnabout, but the Turkish leader's calculus is probably more complex.

Just as the Kremlin published Erdogan's apology, Turkey and Israel announced the normalization of diplomatic relations, severed six years ago after eight Turks died in an Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla. This may allow Turkey to diversify its energy supply: Israel can now build a gas pipeline to Cyprus, which would help Turkey become less dependent on Russian gas. Gazprom, the Russian state-owned producer, supplies about 55 percent of Turkey's needs.

Russia is dead set against the pipeline proposal. Israel is aware of the risk to the project, and it has alternative plans to send gas to Egypt, liquefy it there and export it using ships, not pipelines. To make the pipeline possible, Erdogan needs to talk to Russia, perhaps reviving shelved plans for a new Russian pipeline to Turkey to create a hub for further export to southern Europe.

Turkey's position as a Middle Eastern gateway requires friendly relations with the major players. Erdogan is volatile, but he's also wily, and he must understand that it's easier for him to maintain a pragmatic, quid-pro-quo relationship with Putin than, say, European Union leaders.

Here;  http://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-06-27/here-s-why-erdogan-is-burying-the-hatchet-with-putin

Prophetic events continue marching on folks!  Can you see a day when Russia, Iran and MAYBE Turkey form a coalition that seeks to take what Israel has?

Ezekiel 38
7 “‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. 8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

I will remind you that MOST prophecy watchers have come to the conclusion that the events of Ezekiel 38 will happen AFTER Christ comes to snatch his bride away from a world ripe for judgment....so if we can see the players falling into place for something that happens AFTER the rapture....how close might we be to hearing the trumpet call of God with the voice of the archangel?

Texas Mom Shoots and Kills Her Two Daughters

Talk about goofy headlines coming out every hour....!

Here's more unheard of tragedy today.  A mother in Texas killed her 17 and 22 year old daughters before being shot and killed by Houston Police.

The husband of Texas killer mom Christy Sheats begged her in vain not to shoot their two daughters, a neighbor who witnessed the carnage said Sunday.

“Don’t do this, they’re our kids!” the panicked father, Jason Sheats, screamed to his wife, 42, who shot Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, before being gunned down herself by cops.

The chilling witness account surfaced two days after the Friday massacre outside the family’s home in suburban Houston.

The officer who killed Christy feared she was about to pump still more bullets into one of the dying daughters, said the neighbor, Fazz Zainuddin.

“She walked towards the body, I think Madison, already on the ground, and I guess the cop was afraid that she was going to shoot her again,” he told local NBC affiliate KPRC.

Neighbors said the daughters were already bleeding as they ran for their lives on Remson Hollow Lane in the town of Katy, according to a local ABC affiliate.

The carnage happened on the dad’s 45th birthday.

“He was going through a difficult time,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told reporters.

Photos posted to social media show medics leading the weeping father through the first moments of life without his daughters and wife.

“All I saw was the police officer aiming his rifle toward someone and saying, ‘Drop your weapons,’ and then afterward another gunshot,” neighbor Sabeeh Siddiqui told ABC.

Authorities believe the killing stemmed from an argument at the home. Neighbors told local media that the couple’s marriage was strained, though they remained shocked that something like this could happen.

“She was just such a sweet girl,” friend Matthew Wiley said of Taylor, the older daughter.

“She had tons of friends. I just can’t believe it happened.”

Photos online show the mom puckering up for selfies with the daughters, who smile broadly.

The mom was an avowed gun-rights advocate who in March posted to Facebook: “It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away,”

Here;  http://nypost.com/2016/06/27/dont-do-this-dad-begs-wife-who-fatally-shot-daughters/

So what are WHOM could possess a woman to kill both her daughters?  Politics?  Religion?  College grades?....or maybe Satan?

I'm guessing we may never find out in this case but we know that in many previous cases of parents killing their children there has been a common denominator of HEARING VOICES.  Or, "the voices made me do it!  They just wouldn't shut up!"

The medical community has no choice but to say, "She had mental problems."

We duh!!  Do you think you could share some more revelations, Captain Obvious??

Clearly, any human being that would kill their kids has some type of mental problem...we just wonder if the problem was brought on by an actual medical ailment or if it was caused by a spiritual ailment that the medical community will never be able to explain?

Brexit and Bible Prophecy

So now that the world is all boiling over with Brexit talk....what could this all mean to those of us who watch Bible prophecy?

Could we see the EU decline to 10 nations?  Or could we see the EU collapse and have a new coalition of nations rise up...maybe led by the revived Roman empire?

Does the vote in the United Kingdom to leave the European Union have prophetic implications for the "Revived Roman Empire" described in the Book of Daniel and Revelation?

This is the question that will be on the mind of Bible Prophecy students for months to come as we watch what happens next in both the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe as more nations now threaten to follow England's lead.

The terms:  Swexit, Czexit and Frexit are already being used to describe other movements to pull out of the European Union. Front National leader Marine Le Pen has pledged to hold a French referendum if she emerges victorious in next year's presidential elections.

The Telegraph conducted a poll last month and found nearly half of voters in eight big EU nations want a vote on whether to remain. One third of the respondents said they would leave if they could.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is leading the charge to hold the EU together and asking nations to remain calm before making any rash decisions but even she admitted in a statement, "There is no point beating about the bush: today is a watershed for Europe, it is a watershed for the European unification process."

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has perhaps stated the ramifications for Europe best: "At stake is the breakup pure and simple of the union. Now is the time to invent another Europe."

Another Europe?

The potential for "another Europe" to emerge out of the current crisis has ramifications not only politically and economically but prophetically as well.  Surprisingly, even The Economist magazine recognized that this was an important factor for some Protestants voting to leave the Union in their article: "Protestants, leaving Europe is a matter of eschatology".

These evangelicals believed that remaining in the EU put them at risk of eventually joining the "The Beasts" final world empire.  Why did they believe this?

The Bible speaks of several different beasts. Each one is used symbolically to give insight into different aspects of the final world empire and it's leader, and when studied together give us a much better picture of what to expect in the Last Days.

Revelation 13 speaks of a beast in its first 7 verses. Another beast, ridden by a woman, is described in Revelation 17. Daniel 7 speaks of four separate beasts, with a reference to a "little horn" that appears during the time of the fourth beast. Revelation 13 also describes a second "two-horned beast," beginning in verse 11. These beastly images are also to be understood in the context of the giant image of a man composed of four separate metals in Daniel 2.

Relative to most of these descriptions, in describing this final world empire is the number 10; 10 toes, 10 heads and 10 horns. Each give us different understanding but all point to an alliance of 10 nations/leaders that will one day be controlled by the "little horn", the Antichrist.

A Revived Roman Empire of 10?

One of the most significant political and economic developments in our modern era was the EEC Treaty, the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community. It was signed in 1957 in, of all places, Rome!

In fact, there were two treaties, called, amazingly, "Treaties of Rome." One treaty established the European Atomic Energy Community, and the other established the European Economic Community, which later became the European Union.

With the development of the Common Market many students of Bible Prophecy thought this was the start of the 10 nation alliance described in the Book of Revelation.  However, most were surprised and confused when it continued to grow past 10, eventually reaching 28 nations.

To reconcile the idea of 10, some alternative ideas to solve this dilemma were put forward,  including the potential role of the 10-nation military alliance within the EU, which appeared in Europe in 1995, called the Western European Union.

Another idea floated by some leaders within Europe was the idea of an executive council of 10 to handle the growing size of its nation membership, who would represent the EU populace to an EU President.

I guess we will have to watch and wait because we simply don't know.

What we do know is that the "nations are in perplexity".  The fallen world definitely wants to make itself into something great...just like they did in the days of the Tower of Babel.  The cry of, "Who needs God?" continues to ring out as nations try to figure out the best way to overcome the curse of sin.

Luke 21:25
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.

Also one note to consider when reading the above passage from Luke;  In Jewish thought "the sea" can mean the actual ocean but it can also mean "the sea of humanity"...so the passage could be interpreted to mean that the nations on earth will be in anguish and perplexity and the people of earth could be roaring and tossing as they demand something from their governments which simply can't be found or provided.

West Virginia Hit With 1000 Year Flood

Not more than a few decades ago when a huge rain/flood event would happen the media would call it "a 100 year flood".  About a decade ago the floods went past what anyone could remember in the past 100 years so they started calling epic rain events, "a 500 year flood".

With what has happened in West Virginia over the past few days, they have had to come up with some new lingo to describe just how momentous and devastating the flooding is....so it's now called "a 1000 year flood."

West Virginia floods: At least 20 dead in 'once-in-1,000-year' event

RAVENSWOOD, W.Va., June 24 (UPI) -- The death toll from massive flooding in West Virginia continued to rise Friday.

Officials said Friday evening that at least 20 people were confirmed dead after torrential rains fell on the state and triggered widespread flash flooding.

The flooding is the third-deadliest in West Virginia's history -- following similar events in 1972 and 1985.

"I am saddened to report that, at this point, we have confirmed 14 individuals who have lost their lives in the storm," West Virginia Gov. Earl Tomblin said at a news conference Friday.

"As West Virginians we are all praying for those who have lost loved ones," he added.

Tomblin, who's declared emergencies in 44 of the state's 55 counties, said he planned to survey the flooding from the air Friday but could not because every available aircraft was being used for rescue and relief efforts.

Up to 10 inches of rain fell in some counties, leading to significant flash flooding. Thousands also remain without power across the state, utility officials said.

A dramatic scene played out Friday in the southern part of the state when floodwaters pushed a burning house down the Howard Creek.

Let's think about this trend.....about 4000 years ago Noah and his family got in an ark and were soon witness to a global flood that wiped out all humans on earth.  Could it be possible that these epic storms/floods/quakes/tornadoes/volcanic eruptions are all just more signs that the earth is experiencing the "birth pains" that Jesus told us to watch for?

If so, these events will culminate in the worst outbreaks of nature that the the world has EVER seen...called The Great Tribulation.  Billions of people will die when nature turns on the left-behind inhabitants of planet earth.  Jesus said that if he didn't return to earth to shorten those days NO FLESH WOULD SURVIVE.

Let's remember that God promised he would never destroy the earth with a flood again.  He sent a rainbow to remind us of this promise.

Let's also remember that the earth will one day be destroyed again....but the next time will be by fire.

2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

One more comment on the rainbow....isn't it ironic that the godless people of the LGBT movement have hijacked the symbol of God's promise and used it to promote LGBT PRIDE?
