Extreme Bullying in Iraq

It appears the "religion of peace" just won't let up! 

While here in America the stories keep coming out about kids being bullied because of their looks...in Iraq they don't just bully kids who are into the "emo" look...they take them out and stone them to death.

At least 90 Iraqi teenagers with "emo" appearances have been stoned to death by religious extremists in Baghdad in the past month after an inflammatory interior ministry statement dubbed it "devil worshiping", activists said.

Iraq's Moral Police released a chilling statement on the interior ministry's website condemning the "emo phenomenon" among Iraqi youth, disturbingly declaring its intent to "eliminate" the trend.

"The 'Emo phenomenon' or devil worshiping is being followed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate [the phenomenon] as soon as possible since it's detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger," the statement read.

"They wear strange, tight clothes that have pictures on them such as skulls and use stationary that are shaped as skulls. They also wear rings on their noses and tongues, and do other strange activities," it continued.

Religious extremists caught onto the interior ministry statement, and have been harassing and killing teenagers with "strange" or "emo" appearances.

A group of armed men dressed in civilian clothing led dozens of teenagers to secluded areas a few days ago, stoned them to death, and then disposed their bodies in garbage dumpsters across the capital, according to activists.

Holy execution!!  If those folks came to America and started stoning every kid who had the picture of a skull on his T shirt...they would run out of bricks and stones to throw!

Of course the liberals who continue to believe that Islam is really a peaceful force...and that there are only a "few" folks who have hijacked this "wonderful" religion...simply refuse to acknowledge what is happening in Gaza, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Nigeria, Somalia, Libya, and every other country that is run by an Islamic majority.

So what is Islam folks...a peaceful religion with only a few extremists....or a violent and deadly religion that has only a few peaceful folks?

You will know them by what kind of fruit they are bearing.

90 Rockets Fired From Gaza

The rumors are buzzing that Israel is going to have to do a major offensive AGAIN in Gaza.  The natives are getting restless, and after Israel killed 14 militants in Gaza, then the Arabs fired at least 90 missiles into Israel.

NOTICE that it appears Israel took out the dude who was responsible for arranging the kidnapping of  the IDF soldier in 2006.

JERUSALEM — An escalation of cross-border violence continued for the second day on Saturday, as the death toll from Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip rose to 14 militants and militant factions fired dozens more rockets into southern Israel.

Two militant groups in Gaza said those killed in at least 10 airstrikes from Friday to Saturday were their fighters, among them a top commander. Witnesses and medics said the latest airstrike, at midday Saturday, killed two militants in the crowded Gaza refugee camp of Khan Younis.

Militants vowed revenge after the initial strike that killed a leading commander on Friday, and they claimed responsibility for a subsequent torrent of more than 90 rockets that the Israeli military said were launched from Gaza toward southern Israel. One Israeli was seriously wounded in the rocket fire, and hundreds of thousands of residents in the area were advised to stay inside on Saturday, Israeli authorities said.

The escalation began Friday morning, when an Israeli airstrike on a car in Gaza City killed Zuhair al-Qaissi, the commander of the Popular Resistance Committees, and his assistant. The group, in cooperation with Hamas, abducted the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2006; Shalit was freed last year in exchange for more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

So let's again count the many places that Israel may have to have military confrontations...Egypt, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and possibly Jordan...and Russia and Turkey have promised VERY SERIOUS responses to anyone who attacks Iran.

If I was a betting man, I would bet that the Peace Train is not coming anytime soon to Israel...which is too bad because of all the places in the Middle East Israel is the only country that truly desires to live in peace.

Ironic that the world seems to keep pointing the finger at Israel as if she is the CAUSE of all unrest.

It's Not Your Mother's School Paper

A reader sent me an article talking about the student newspaper at Hellgate High School.  She asks a good question....who would name their high school "Hellgate"?  I wonder who their mascot is that runs around at halftime football games?

Anyway, that was just a side bar....the interesting info is what was published in the HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT NEWSPAPER...and this happened in Montana??  I thought that was God's country...where hunting, fishing, football, church and apple pie were what everyone did.  Dang it!!

The Valentine’s Day issue of the Hellgate Lance student newspaper, in which one writer extoled the virtues of pornography and another urged classmates to experiment with bisexuality, has drawn the ire of parents and forced Principal Russ Lodge to apologize for its content.

In an essay titled “In Defense of Pornography,” one student wrote that watching pornography is largely a healthy form of sexual expression for men, women and teenagers. She also suggested that mildly violent pornography is mere innocuous “fantasy.”

The article also included addresses to free pornographic websites and told students how easy it is to bypass their age restrictions.

In another brief editorial, a female student urged those lonely and bored on Valentine’s Day to consider experimenting sexually with students of the same gender. Other stories shared students’ sexual fantasies and included graphic descriptions of sex acts.

Yes...this seems to be a good idea...let's give porn sites to a bunch of high school kids and suggest they experiment with homo sex if they are bored on Valentine's Day.

Friends...can you even imagine anything like this being in a school paper 20 years ago?  We didn't even have the Internet so Internet porn had yet to be invented.  But even if we did...would your school have let you publish this?  We are losing all sense of shame in this nation.

Seriously, judgment can't be too far behind when morals and shame have vanished.

Why Men Should Marry Only One Woman at a Time

Who was one of the most recognizable faces in the world?  Osama Bin Laden.  Who had all sorts of money and followers?  Osama Bin Laden.  Who spent the last weeks of his life hiding in a cramped compound while his three bickering wives went at each other and probably drove him crazy?  Yep, Osama Bin Laden.

Remember what Proverbs tells us;  "It is better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife."

Osama should have chucked out his Koran and swapped it for a Bible....then he would have known better.

Osama bin Laden spent his last days trapped inside a cramped compound with two feuding wives, as family members worried the older of the town women would betray the al Qaeda leader to authorities, according to a detailed account compiled by a retired Pakistani army officer.

Sabar, who had previously been under house arrest in Iran before being released in 2010, was also described in the account as a feisty woman who even frightened the Pakistani intelligence officials who interrogated her.

Sabar, a woman believed to be about seven years bin Laden's senior, appeared at the Abbottabad house in February or March 2011, just months before it was raided by U.S. Navy SEALs, and then moved into a room on the second floor, right below the room bin Laden shared with his youngest and favorite wife, Amal Ahmed Abdul Fatah. The newcomer was soon at odds with Abdul Fattah and other members of the household.

"I have one final duty to perform for my husband," Sabar reportedly told Khalid; the son rushed to tell his father that she was going to betray him.

"She is so aggressive that she borders on being intimidating," one official told Qadir.

The three-story compound, which bin Laden shared with his three wives, eight of his children and five of his grandchildren, was demolished last month after Pakistani intelligence analysts expressed concerns that the building could becoming a shrine for al Qaeda supporters.

Yes men, it may sound like fun to have a few wives or even just a few concubines like Solomon....but it seems the women can't handle the jealousy of you spending time with someone else.  I mean look at Sarah and Abraham...it was Sarah's suggestion that Abraham sleep with her servant...and after the fact ONLY THEN DID SHE GET MAD. 

Look at the Jacob's sister-wives Rachel and Leah.  Not only did Jacob have these two wives but he got a maiden from each of them that he also could sleep with...named Zilpah and Bilhah...and you don't have to read between the lines too deep to see that the women were in competition over Jacob.

Yes friends...even if your state legalizes polygamy (which they will have to eventually if they have legalized gay marriage) take a lesson from Osama Bin Laden....living in a house with 3 wives who don't like each other IS NOT FUN!!

The Booming Business of Doomsday

Of course anyone who has been reading this blog over the past 4 years knows that 2012 has been the focal point of MANY doomsday scenarios.  Mayan calendar, solar storms, 12th Imam, Mayitrea, Planet X returning, alignment of planets causing magnetic reversal on earth, massive earthquake on New Madrid wiping out our power grid, the list goes on and on.

Of course when you have that many folks thinking about the end of the world...the doomsday business has to be a growing part of the economy.

As the date the Mayans predicted the world will end nears, restless ‘Occupy’ hordes rise up and rogue regimes threaten the world with nuclear weapons, one thing is sure: The doomsday business is booming.

From the society’s wealthiest and most powerful class to rural off-the-grid types, people are preparing for the worst, and sparing no expense on elaborate underground shelters, buying years’ worth of non-perishable foods and stockpiling fuel and ammunition. Some have embraced the term “preppers,” although precisely what they are preparing for varies.

“We realized that we were totally unprepared should something happen,” said Jack Jobe, who was prompted to prep for a natural disaster after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

Jobe, who will be featured on an upcoming episode of the NatGeo’s “Doomsday Preppers,” has invested about $3,000 in a safe room in the cellar of his family’s Colorado home. The basement bunker has reinforced steel doors, along with two 55-gallon drums of water, a four-month supply of food and a cache of guns and ammunition.

“Fleeing won’t be an option,” Jobe told FoxNews.com. “We are ready to survive in place.”

In addition to “Doomsday Preppers,” a Discovery show entitled “Doomsday Bunkers” also chronicles the growing trend of prepping for everything short of Armageddon. The popularity of these reality shows underscores the fascination with bunkers, freeze-dried food, guns, ammo and everything else people will need if and when society collapses.

Of course we are not supposed to be like the rest of the world getting all freaked out.  Proverbs does tell us that the prudent man sees danger and makes plans...so its not stupid to make sure you have some food, flashlights, water, etc...  That is just common sense.  What we are NOT supposed to do is move to Montana and dig a bunker while we wait for the world to collapse.

Jesus says we are supposed to occupy until he returns. I take that to mean that we are supposed to stay involved and working until he comes for us.  Of course we should be all about witnessing the Gospel to those around us through our actions and through our words.

In fact Paul tells us that we see all these things that we are watching for begin to happen, we should meet more frequently in our church and Bible study groups and encourage each other with the words of prophecy.

So friends, be prudent....but don't be crazy.  Keep your balance, because the Holy Spirit is all about balance and order...not about freaking out and chaos.

Power Companies Have Been Alerted

A few days ago I posted about 'A Year Without Electricity'. 

Tuesday night a large solar explosion happened and the particles are racing towards earth as we speak.

But fear not....the power companies have been alerted to watch for possible outages.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The largest solar flare in five years is racing toward Earth, threatening to unleash a torrent of charged particles that could disrupt power grids, GPS and airplane flights.

The sun erupted Tuesday evening, and the effects should start smacking Earth around 7 a.m. EST Thursday, according to forecasters at the federal government's Space Weather Prediction Center. They say the flare is growing as it speeds outward from the sun.

But there is the potential for widespread problems. Solar storms have three ways they can disrupt technology on Earth: with magnetic, radio and radiation emissions. This is an unusual situation when all three types of solar storm disruptions are likely to be strong, Kunches said.

That means "a whole host of things" could follow, he said.

The magnetic part of the storm has the potential to trip electrical power grids. Kunches said power companies around the Earth have been alerted for possible outages. The timing and speed of the storm determines whether it will knock off power grids, he said.

OK...as my previous post already described, I don't like living without electricity...because it is no fun.  I hardly made it a day without getting a bit concerned.  So what happens to my "fun index" if this crashing solar storm knocks out our power grid for two days...or two weeks....or two months?

With no electricity, I can't blog!!  And your computer doesn't work to read it anyway!!

Well, according to scientists, we here in Minnesota should start to feel the solar storm about 6 AM Thursday morning...so if you get no blogging from me on Thursday, you will know that, once again, I am sitting in the dark.

'Act of God' Summoned by Romney Campaign

Mitt Romney had a somewhat mixed day yesterday in the Republican nominee battle.  But here is what is interesting to me.... today his campaign said it would take an 'Act of God' for Mitt to NOT get the Republican nomination.

Don't put your Lord God to the test, is what first comes to mind.  Second thing that comes to mind; act of what god?

BOSTON -- Mitt Romney's campaign gathered the national press corps in their campaign war room this morning to deliver a simple message: It would take an "act of God" for any candidate not named Mitt Romney to win the Republican nomination.

The Boston-based campaign projected confidence in Romney's ability to win the nomination given the emerging delegate math in the campaign following last night's Super Tuesday contests.

"We will get to 1,144 whether it's on someone else’s timeline, or on our timeline," said one top Romney aide. "We will get to 1,144 and be the Republican nominee."

The World is Groaning....Seriously.

People from around the world are hearing big noises coming from from the sky.  In addition millions of folks from around the world are hearing a constant humming noise coming from some unexplained place.

Mysterious sounds have been heard booming from the sky all around the world – in some cases they were so loud they set off car alarms.

The unsettling noises were heard recently from Europe to Canada, sounding like groans and powerful horns.

In Germany noises coming from the sky were recorded on a video camera and uploaded to YouTube, with car alarms clearly heard going off in the background.

The internet has been buzzing with theories about what the sounds could be, with suggestions such as Jesus returning and the world ending put forward.

Geoscientist David Deming from the University of Oklahoma, meanwhile, has previously written about a phenomenon called The Hum – ‘a mysterious and untraceable sound that is heard in certain locations around the world by two to ten per cent of the population’.

A Year Without Electricity?

Last week, here in Minnesota, we had a wet, heavy snow that broke limbs off trees and snapped power lines so that my house was without electricity from 8 AM til about 5 PM. 

We live in the country so we have a well, but we were soon out of water because the well has an electric pump and electric pressure tank.  Also you notice how much you miss your computer to read the news or how much you miss the TV.  We wondered when would the ice in the fridge/freezer start to melt and drip all over the house.  We wondered how long our freezer would keep cold before the meat would start to thaw.  We wondered how we would get water to all the cows and horses...each of which drinks about 10 gallons per day. 

As the sun started going lower in the sky, I started to get a little concerned about just being in utter darkness ALL NIGHT LONG?  Thankfully for us, everything was back to normal before I had to find out what it would be like to go for a single day without electricity.

We have already posted on it in the past...but did you know that if we have a solar storm the same size as the one we ALREADY HAD in 1859...that we could have some cities be blacked out and without electricity for up to a year?

There is a one in eight chance of a solar 'megastorm' before 2014, according to a Californian scientist - and other space weather experts agree that Earth is facing a burst of violent activity that will peak within two years.

It's unknown what effects this could have on our planet - but scientists have analysed the worst recorded solar event in history, 1859's Carrington Event, and worked out what effects a similar event would have now.

In our connected, satellite-reliant electronic age, the effects would be devastating, they say, as it would disrupt global communications and take out power sources, and could cause up to $2 trillion of damage.

They fear the sun could now be entering a two year 'hurricane season' of solar storms, and the star flared violently on Valentine's Day this year.

'We live in a cyber cocoon enveloping the Earth. Imagine what the consequences might be,' Daniel Baker, of the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics told National Geographic when asked about a potential 'megastorm'.
'Every time you purchase a gallon of gas with your credit card, that's a satellite transaction.
'Imagine large cities without power for a week, a month, or a year. The losses could be $1 to $2 trillion, and the effects could be felt for years.'

I know the first thing I said when our lights came on, "Thank you Jesus!" 

During the Tribulation, when the lights do go out, the demons are unleashed, the love of most will grow cold, people will kill you for a can of beans, men will faint for fear on what they see coming, money becomes worthless, drought makes it impossible to grow food so people die from starvation, a meteor hits earth and makes drinking water bitter, the Antichrist and his followers are tracking down and murdering anyone who opposes them...and it becomes so bad that men crawl into caves and pray for the mountains to fall on them.

Have we made peace with God through Jesus Christ?  Have we tested ourselves lately to see if the Holy Spirit is in us?  Are we eager for Jesus to come for us and call us into the clouds?  Have we let go of all our earthly belongings or do we still have it all clenched in our tight fists...unwilling to give it up because its MINE!  Are we living pure lives...as a bride who awaits her groom should be?  Or do we find ourselves sucking up everything this world has to offer...because in our hearts we really don't believe that Jesus is coming?

I hope we don't have to endure crazy stuff before Jesus comes for us in the rapture....but do we have enough oil in our lamps if we do have to endure hard times?  Look at the folks in the Midwest and South....over 100 huge tornadoes simply destroyed their lives and possessions and then a freak snowstorm covered the tornado damage with inches of heavy, wet snow.  Who has ever heard of such a thing?

China Continues to Rise

Revelation tells us that the Kings of the East will one day march across the dried up Euphrates river with a 200,000,000 man army marching to Israel.

So we continue to watch China grow economically...which will allow it to grow militarily.

China plans to increase defense spending 11.2 percent this year as the country’s expanding global commitments and lingering territorial disputes drive demand for more warships, missiles and fighter planes.

Military spending is set to rise this year to about 670 billion yuan ($106.4 billion), Li Zhaoxing, spokesman for China’s National People’s Congress, said yesterday ahead of a speech today by Premier Wen Jiabao to open the annual 10-day session of the country’s legislature.

China’s defense spending, the second highest in the world after the U.S., has risen in tandem with the expansion of its economy and a new focus by the Obama administration on the Asia- Pacific region. China is also involved in spats with Vietnam, the Philippines and Japan over control of oil- and gas-rich waters and has a lingering territorial dispute with India that erupted into a war in 1962.

Defense spending has more than doubled since 2006, tracking a rise in nominal gross domestic product from 20.9 trillion yuan to 47.2 trillion yuan in that time. The growing defense budget has stoked concerns among China’s neighbors and the U.S., which announced last year a strategic shift toward Asia including deploying forces to a base in Australia. Chinese defense spending as a percentage of GDP was about 1.3 percent in 2011, falling from about 1.4 percent in 2006.

So that's pretty interesting.  Also remember a post we did last month that one prophecy guy predicted that China will make an attack on India sometime in 2012....just to keep India on it's toes...and we see this article also referenced a "territorial dispute" that still lingers.

We will need to keep watch on the Euphrates to see if it starts going dry. 

Putin Claims Victory in Russia

MOSCOW (AP) — Vladimir Putin scored a decisive victory in Russia's presidential election Sunday to return to the Kremlin and extend his hold on power for six more years. His eyes brimming with tears, he defiantly proclaimed to a sea of supporters that they had triumphed over opponents intent on "destroying Russia's statehood and usurping power."

Putin's win was never in doubt as many across the vast country still see him as a guarantor of stability and the defender of a strong Russia against a hostile world, an image he has carefully cultivated during 12 years in power.

Accounts by independent observers of extensive vote-rigging, however, looked set to strengthen the resolve of opposition forces whose unprecedented protests in recent months have posed the first serious challenge to Putin's heavy-handed rule. Another huge demonstration was set for Monday evening in central Moscow.

Putin claimed victory Sunday night when fewer than a quarter of the votes had been counted. He spoke to a rally just outside the Kremlin walls of tens of thousands of supporters, many of them government workers or employees of state-owned companies who had been ordered to attend.

"I promised that we would win and we have won!" Putin shouted to the flag-waving crowd. "We have won in an open and honest struggle."

Putin, 59, said the election showed that "our people can easily distinguish a desire for renewal and revival from political provocations aimed at destroying Russia's statehood and usurping power."

He ended his speech with the triumphant declaration: "Glory to Russia!"

The West can expect Putin to continue the tough policies he has pursued even as prime minister, including opposing U.S. plans to build a missile shield in Europe and resisting international military intervention in Syria.

If Putin can hold onto this election and is in power for the next 6 years...you really have to wonder...will he end up also having the title Gog of Magog talked about in Ezekiel 38?  Think about it....can this world really continue in this tumultuous cycle for another 6 years?  Somethings got to give...and if the rapture does happen in the next 6 years and America falls as a result...Putin would be the man to put together the coalition with the evil plan of ridding the world of Israel once and for all.

Of course, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has other plans...
