Americans Don't Trust Gov't, Media or Each Other

The words of Jesus may have been uttered to explain how Satan's kingdom won't stand if they are divided but it also may serve as a warning to any nation that becomes totally divided.

It would seem that America has turned into a place where 50% believe the other 50% are deluded, idiots...and vise versa.  How long can this continue?

Americans are losing trust in each other, in the government, and in the media, according to a concerning new survey.

Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that conducts public opinion polls and social science research and informs the public about issues, attitudes, and trends shaping the world. The organization recently published a new report called Trust and Distrust in America, which reveals that Americans think declining trust in the government and in each other is making it harder to solve important problems.

"Two-thirds of adults think other Americans have little or no confidence in the federal government. Majorities believe the public's confidence in the U.S. government and in each other is shrinking, and most believe a shortage of trust in government and in other citizens makes it harder to solve some of the nation's key problems," the report states.

Many Americans think it is necessary to clean up the "trust environment": 68% say it is very important to repair the public's level of confidence in the federal government, and 58% say the same about improving confidence in fellow Americans.

There are several reasons for the decline in trust.

Diminishing trust is viewed by some as a sign of cultural sickness and national decline. Others believe it is linked to what they perceive to be increased loneliness and excessive individualism.

Those who think interpersonal trust has declined in the past generation offer a laundry list of societal and political problems, including a sense that Americans on the whole have become more lazy, greedy and dishonest. Some respondents make a connection between what they think is poor government performance - especially gridlock in Washington - and the toll it has taken on their fellow citizens' hearts.

North Korean Defector’s Family Killed for Sharing Gospel

North Korea has for the last 18 years ranked as the worst country in the world when it comes to Christian persecution on Open Doors USA’s World Watch List. Thousands upon thousands of North Koreans are imprisoned in these camps either for being Christian, speaking out against the regime, or trying to defect from the country. 

How bold would we be to share the Gospel if we knew we, or our wife and kids, could be killed for doing so?  It’s hard to even comprehend that millions of people are waking up this morning with this as their reality.

Ju told reporters that his aunt’s entire family was thrown into a political prison camp just because her aunt’s father-in-law was a Christian. 

“It was my cousin’s family, they were all executed for sharing the Gospel,” Ju added.

He said that three leaders of the church who were responsible for missions in North Korea were also sent to political prison camps. 

Despite thousands being imprisoned and tortured for their faith, Ju said Christian activities are still happening inside prison camps. 

“According to my co-worker who is now living in [South] Korea, when she was in prison, she couldn’t sing or voice up her Christianity,” he said. “But she was able to make a couple of people inside a prison believe in [Christ] and with silence. With eye-to-eye contact, they were able to convey [the Gospel]. She said that her experience there in prison, even though her situation was difficult, she felt like she was in Heaven.” 

In the meeting with Trump, Ju told the president that regardless of the situation, North Koreans are still worshiping. 

“Even though the persecution of Kim Jong Un, the North Korean citizens, they want the Gospel and they want to worship now,” Ju assured Trump. “They are worshiping in underground churches right now.”

“Substantial” Evidence Ilhan Committed Crimes

This would be welcome news if this woman can be taken down because of her own illegal doings.

On Tuesday, Judicial Watch hand-delivered an ethics complaint to David Skaggs, chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Office of Congressional Ethics, calling for a full investigation into potential crimes tied to allegations that the Minnesota lawmaker may have married her biological brother.

Judicial Watch claims it has "substantial, compelling and, to date, unrefuted evidence" that Omar may have committed crimes in violation of both federal and state law. JW president Tom Fitton says their complaint is based on social media posts and sources within the Somali-American community.

"The information appears to give probable cause to investigate Omar for eight instances of perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, up to eight years of state and federal tax fraud, two years of federal student loan fraud and even bigamy," Fitton explains.

"To be clear, the facts describe perhaps the most extensive spree of illegal misconduct committed by a House member in American history," he adds.

Fitton emphasizes this isn't about Omar's ideology. "Although she is ideologically quite noxious, she engages in this sly dishonest anti-Semitism," says the group's president. "She's viciously anti-Israel. She supports a supposedly U.S. organization that the U.S. government has believed to be a front for the terror group Hamas."

Minnesota Republican State Representative Steve Drazkowski has filed a separate ethics complaint against Omar with the House Ethics Committee that is related to immigration fraud.

Manholes Could Offend Someone So Refer to them as Maintenance Holes

In the land of fruit and nuts they just keep losing their minds.  The folks in Berkeley, who first off refused to allow the military to have a recruitment office in their city, has now voted and approved of an entire list of words that can't be used in their fair city.

Oh yea, and no more natural gas.

At a Tuesday night city council meeting, Berkeley became the first city in America to ban the use of natural gas piping in new construction. But that was not the only utility-related issue they saw fit to attend to. No, there was another matter on deck: Eliminating the gendered connotations of words like "manhole" in the city municipal code.

No longer will the streets of fair Berkeley be dotted with manholes, nary a womanhole or nonbinaryhole in sight. With Tuesday night's vote, they have all been transmuted into "maintenance holes," that highest, hardest glass manhole-cover finally shattered.

The item, originally on the council agenda for March 12, was sponsored by councilmembers Rigel Robinson, Cheryl Davila, Ben Bartlett and Lori Droste, reports Berkeleyside. The ordinance eliminates all gendered pronouns from the city code, replacing "she" and "he" with "they."

"Manpower" will be referred to as "human effort," and "man-made" objects will be described with terms like "human-made," "artificial," "manufactured," "machine made" or "synthetic."

Gendered professional terms like "fireman," "firewoman" and "craftsman" will be swapped out for gender-neutral substitutes like "firefighter" and "craftspeople." "Heirs" will become "beneficiaries," a "sportsman" is now a "hunter," and an "ombudsman" is now just an "ombuds." The estimated cost of the revisions is a modest $600.

One day they may have to have a vote as to whether Satan should be called "he", "she" or "they".  And what about all the angels who appeared in the Bible always as men?  Maybe they can take a vote and demand that the fallen angels quit tormenting them while acting like men but maybe show up as nasty women who torment them?
