More On Jerusalem Shooting

 Israel attacks a house filled with Muslim terrorists and kills 9.  Terrorists respond with killing 7 Jewish civilians.  Left wing media blames it on conservative government elected in Israel and the hopelessness that the Arabs feel living in “occupied territories”.  It’s possible this will only get worse until Antichrist shows up with a temporary solution.

It’s been a violent two days in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. On Friday evening in East Jerusalem, a Palestinian gunman killed at least seven Israelis in the most lethal attack in the city since 2008. Israeli officials described the shooting outside a synagogue as an act of terrorism. Earlier Friday, three rockets were shot from Gaza and Israeli jets attacked an underground Hamas bomb-making facility, according to the Israeli military.

A day prior, in the refugee camp of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, Israeli commandos raided an apartment building and the surrounding area, and killed nine Palestinians and wounded 20, in what a spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority called “a massacre.” Israel said the site of the raid housed a terrorist cell of the Islamic Jihad group.

More than one Palestinian has been killed a day on average in the first month of 2023, on track to double the tragic rate of lethal violence in the occupied West Bank last year — which was already the highest on record since the United Nations began collecting this data, and double that of 2021.

Little is known about the Friday shooter or his motives; he was killed by police after attacking the synagogue.

The escalating cycle of violence comes as CIA director Bill Burns visits Israel and Palestine; Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrives there on Monday. “We underscore the urgent need for all parties to de-escalate, prevent further loss of civilian life, and work together to improve the security situation in the West Bank,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement Thursday.

But analysts described the increasingly deadly and volatile situation as a product of foreclosed hope and other structural factors, exacerbated by an extreme-right Israeli government taking power earlier this month. At the very least, things are unlikely to calm.

Seven people were shot and killed and at least three others were wounded in a terror shooting attack at a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood, police and medics said Friday night.

According to police, the terrorist arrived by car at 8:13 p.m. at the synagogue in the East Jerusalem neighborhood and opened fire at people outside the synagogue and other passersby.

He is believed to have waited outside the synagogue until Shabbat prayers ended, then opened fire on worshipers as they walked outside.

America Now on Path to Have more Grandparents than Grandchildren

 Elon Musk has warned that the biggest problem for Western civilization is people not having children.  Who is going to be around to care for all the 80 yr old Americans if they didn't have kids?  Could we already be witnessing this problem as the "help wanted" signs seem to be on every fast food restaurant from AZ to MN?  Who will work at the nursing homes?  Who will work at the hospitals?  My mom is in a nursing home and I'm telling the truth that every employee that cares for her is an immigrant from Africa with a strong accent.  When I was in High School I worked at a nursing home not far from there and it was filled with High School kids doing everything from washing dishes to handing out meals to helping them get to their rooms and into bed.

The myth of overpopulation--much beloved by population control experts, environmental activists, and progressives--has taken yet another blow recently. As noted by a report in the Daily Mail: 

The famous American work ethic helped the United States become the economic superpower of the 20th century. But experts warn the decision to prioritize careers over families has set the country on an irreversible path to economic destruction. The reason? People do not have enough children anymore.

A baby boom in the mid-20th century saw the average woman give birth to between three and four children. Today, just 1.6 children - the lowest level recorded since data was first tracked in 1800. This could lead to economic devastation in America down the line - as the federal government would need to collect more taxes to fund programs such as Medicare and Social Security - while dishing out less benefits to each person.

The downward trend of American fertility has accelerated in recent decades, as the 'Instagram generation' of millennials and zoomers prioritize their careers, travel and relaxation over building families.

A replacement birth rate would mean that the average woman has 2.1 children, and in 2010 the rate had already fallen to 1.9. It has dropped 15% since then, to 1.6 in 2020. According to census projections, the American population will start to plummet in 2035. In order to sustain social programs like Medicare, the government will have to raise taxes significantly. 

Economists are warning that we have not yet grappled with the realities that will come with having a nation with more grandparents than grandchildren--a spectre first eloquently highlighted by Mark Steyn in his 2006 bestseller America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It. 

According to Dr. Melissa Kearney, an economics professor at the University of Maryland, this drop has been due, among other things, to "a greater emphasis on spending time building careers. Adults are changing their attitudes toward having kids. They are choosing to spend money and time in different ways." They are opting for traveling, for example, over parenting. To be fair, cost of living has much to do with it, as well.

Also remember that Social Security only works on the idea that there are a whole bunch of workers paying into the system to make the monthly benefit payments for one retiree.  The entire system collapses if their in only one child working while both parents are collecting from Social Security.

For a whole bunch of reasons, it seems as if America has sailed past it's golden years.  And if America falls WHO will be standing in line to carry the torch of freedom and lead the world?

Telling the Truth Can Get You in Hot Water

 Pretty amazing how quickly free speech in America seems to be vanishing.  One would think you could post a simple idea about how God is the designer of marriage so He gets to define what it is.  This GA police officer found out rather quickly that that's not the case.

A Georgia police officer has resigned after he was told by superiors that he could not share his personal religious views on social media.  

"If someone somewhere considers an opinion I have--that isn't a direct quotation from Scripture--to be offensive, then that would be a fireable offense," Jacob Kersey, the former officer, told The Daily Signal.  

Kersey, 19, who began working last May at the Port Wentworth Police Department in a jurisdiction just outside Savannah, says "everything was going well" until the start of the new year.  

On Jan. 2, Kersey posted a 20-word message about his view of marriage on Facebook. 

"God designed marriage. Marriage refers to Christ and the church," he wrote, paraphrasing the Apostle Paul's teaching in the Book of Ephesians. "That's why there is no such thing as homosexual marriage." 

The next day, Kersey said he received a phone call from his supervisor, who told him that someone had complained about the post and to take it down.  

When Kersey refused, the supervisor warned him that failure to delete the Facebook post on marriage could result in his termination.  

Kersey said he then was contacted by Lt. Justin Hardy, who  told him that the Port Wentworth Police Department didn't want to be held liable in a "use of force" situation involving someone in the LGBTQ community. Kersey still refused to delete the post.  

The police officer received a phone call later that day from the police department's Maj. Lee Sherrod, ordering him to come to the office the following morning, Jan. 4, and turn in everything he had that belonged to the city.  

Kersey told The Daily Signal that he believed he was going to be terminated.  

When he arrived at the police station, the young officer met with Sherrod, Hardy, Capt. Nathan Jentzen, and Police Chief Matt Libby.  

He was told that he was "being placed on administrative leave while the city investigated to see if I could keep my job," Kersey said. "I was told that I was wise beyond my years, an old soul, and that they brag on me all the time, but that I couldn't post things like that."  

Kersey said Libby told him that his Facebook post on marriage was the "same thing as saying the N-word and 'F-- all those homosexuals.'" Kersey said his captain told him that his free speech "was limited due to my position as ... a police officer."

Doomsday Clock Part II

A rabbi responds to the scientists who upgraded the Doomsday Clock yesterday.  We agree with him 100% that God is not going to allow men and bombs to destroy the world.  God will do that exactly as He says and exactly when He wants.  But of course we disagree on this rabbi’s thoughts regarding Messiah.  They rejected Jesus when he stood in front of them and so they will accept another messiah even though he will be a false one.

 Rabbi Yosef Berger was skeptical of the report.

“The scientists are trying to figure out what the sages and the Torah already wrote about,” Rabbi Berger said. “But the scientists are getting it all wrong. They think they have the power to destroy the world and the power to stop the end of the world from coming. They have neither.”

Rabbi Berger, whose family prides themselves on being descendants of King David, is a member of the nascent Sanhedrin, an attempt to reestablish the Biblically mandated court of 71 elders.

“God created the world and he will bring the Messiah in its proper time,” he pointed out.

The rabbi cited the Talmud which contains detailed descriptions of the conditions preceding the end of days.

“The Torah says that in the sixth year of the Shemittah (sabbatical cycle) voices will cry out to warn the Messiah is coming,” Rabbi Berger said. “This will presage wars and when the Shemitta ends, the Messiah will reveal himself.”

“This is what the scientists are sensing. They haven’t done any experiments or have any empirical data so they don’t really ‘know’ what they are talking about. But any person who is in touch with his neshama (soul) can tell that the Messiah is imminent. So many rabbis and hidden mystics are, to an unprecedented degree, saying so and world events just confirm what we can sense and what we know if we connect current events to what we know from the Bible.”

Rabbi Berger emphasized predicting the end without recommending a course of action bore no benefits.

“The Shemittah ended on Rosh Hashanah a few months ago,” Rabbi Berger said. “Of course, there have been many Shemittah cycles since the sages wrote about the Shemittah and the Messiah,” Rabbi Berger said. “Every generation has a Messiah in potential. He only reveals himself if we merit it. And when the Messiah does reveal himself, the scientists will claim that they predicted it.”

“But there is one thing the scientists have never said and that is how to prepare for the end that they are predicting,” he further remarked. “The Bible did write about this as well and it is very simple. Any person who believes in the prophecies as they are written in the Bible will begin preparing now by increasing in charity and acts of lovingkindness. The Prophets make it clear that the focus will be on Jerusalem and Israel.”

 Even folks who don’t know Jesus have an inkling that events can’t continue in the direction they are going without substantial problems surfacing.  The Great Tribulation seems to be on the horizon.  But followers of Jesus have nothing to fear.

On Tuesday, the clock was set at 90 seconds until midnight — the closest to the hour it has ever been, according to the Bulletin of theAtomic Scientists, which created the clock in 1947. Midnight represents the moment at which we will have made Earth uninhabitable for humanity. From 2020 to 2022, the clock was set at 100 seconds to midnight.

The clock isn’t designed to definitively measure existential threats, but rather to spark conversations about difficult scientific topics such as climate change, according to the Bulletin.

The decision to move the clock 10 seconds forward this year is largely due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the increased risk of nuclear escalation, the Bulletin said in a news release. The continuing threats posed by the climate crisis, as well as the breakdown of norms and institutions needed to reduce risks associated with biological threats like Covid-19, also played a role. 

“We are living in a time of unprecedented danger, and the Doomsday Clock time reflects that reality,” Rachel Bronson, president and CEO of the Bulletin, said in the release. “It’s a decision our experts do not take lightly. The US government, its NATO allies and Ukraine have a multitude of channels for dialogue; we urge leaders to explore all of them to their fullest ability to turn back the Clock.”

“Extra-Terrestrial Force” Brought Folks to Davos

The madness continues at Davos where 2600 of the most elite folks in the world flew their private jets to lecture the rest of us about Climate Change. It will be the one-world-religion that everyone will be forced to bow down to.  Admit that humans are killing the planet or you will be done away with.

U.S. climate envoy John Kerry told a group of attendees Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that they were part of a 'select group of human beings' brought together by an 'extra-terrestrial' force to save the plan. 

The climate czar opened by thanking Børge Brende, president of the World Economic Forum in Geneva for getting him the 'best room I ever had here in 35 years.' 

Kerry then launched into a diatribe warning attendees that 'time is running out' to avoid climate change's 'worst consequences.'
