Court Rules That Chimps Are Not People
What if a lady has a chimp lover who treats her better than any man has ever treated her?
What if she wants to marry him?
What if she wants to leave her money, house and belongings to him?
What if a chimp is 99.7% the same DNA as a human....isn't that close enough in his "evolutionary process" to being a human?
LET THE COURTS RULE!!!
New York Court: Chimps Are Still Property, Not People
What has thumbs and no habeas corpus entitlement? Chimpanzees. A Manhattan Supreme Court judge ruled Thursday that chimps are still viewed as property, not people, under the law.
The lawsuit was filed by the Nonhuman Rights Project, a group that wanted two research chimps — named Hercules and Leo — out of confinement.
NPR's Hansi Lo Wang reports "the animal rights group was trying to get them released to a sanctuary by arguing that the chimps have complex cognitive abilities and should be considered legal 'persons.' In the ruling, Justice Barbara Jaffe acknowledges that similarities between chimpanzees and humans 'inspire the empathy for a beloved pet.' "
The judge wrote that someday they may get legal rights, but that courts don't embrace change quickly. The chimps are held by Stony Brook University.
As we reported previously, this isn't the first time that the Nonhuman Rights Project has presented its case in court — Justice Jaffe heard arguments in May.
Science provided the legal background:
"The case began as a salvo of lawsuits filed by NhRP in December of 2013. The group claimed that four New York chimpanzees — Hercules and Leo at Stony Brook, and two others on private property — were too cognitively and emotionally complex to be held in captivity and should be relocated to an established chimpanzee sanctuary. NhRP petitioned three lower court judges with a writ of habeas corpus, which is traditionally used to prevent people from being unlawfully imprisoned. By granting the writ, the judges would have implicitly acknowledged that chimpanzees were legal people too — a first step in freeing them."

I guess those of us with Biblical worldviews dodged another bullet for now...but make no mistake about it...ONE DAY the courts will rule that chimps, apes, orangutans and other primates deserve equal protection under the law as humans receive.
The argument will go something like this: "We protect humans with low IQ's and still allow them to marry, live, work and love....so why not protect these primates who have similar IQ's? We would NEVER cage a human with a low IQ and put him on display in a zoo, what kind of barbaric society puts primates in cages and deprives them the hope chance for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Not too many years ago black people were considered property too. Let's be on the right side of history and free the chimps to be the people they want to be!"
And most of the deluded folks in Western society will look at each other and say, "Yes! Chimps are just evolving humans so let's grant them the same rights!"
Soon after that happens a man or woman will demand to marry a primate and anyone who raises their voice in disagreement will be called PRIPHOBIC and also bigoted, intolerant and racist!
I can almost see all the liberals chanting in the streets with their signs saying, "CHIMPS ARE PEOPLE TOO!! CHIMPS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!"
As we reject God we can expect the foolish and futile thinking to increase. Stories like these will happen everyday as EVERY MAN decides what is right and wrong FOR HIM ALONE...which will also mean that there can be no ultimate TRUTH because the concept of right and wrong cease to exist.
ISIS believes it's right, moral and just to kill little kids caught eating during Ramadan....so if they believe that and all agree with it, HOW can it be wrong? Muslim men in Afghanistan enjoy feeding homeless boys...so long as they agree to dress as young women and allow the men to sodomize them...and since most Muslim men in that country agree with the practice...HOW can it be wrong?
