The headlines today right on the front of Google news;
'Israel must apologize, compensate'

Unless Israel acts to make amends for the fatal raid on the Gaza-bound flotilla Turkey may sever bilateral relations, Turkish President Abdullah Gul threatened in an interview with French daily Le Monde published Friday.

Asked if Turkey might break relations with Israel if it did nothing, Gul said: "Anything is possible."

The statement appeared to be an escalation in threats uttered by the Turkish leadership in the aftermath of the takeover of the Mavi Marmara by Israeli commandos.

But of course....does the world demand an apology from the Arab states for any of the heinous human rights violations that take place every single day? Nope.

It sure appears that events are going to escalate between Israel, Turkey and all the Arab states.

Most Christians Can't Explain Their Faith

This is a sad commentary on the ignorance of most of us who call ourselves "Christians".

In his 50 years of ministry, McDowell has asked several thousand pastors and leaders how they could be certain Jesus Christ said “I am the truth” and not one of many truths or a truth.

“Not one person has ever given me an intelligent, biblically-based answer,” said the author of The New Evidence that Demands A Verdict.

During the past six years, he asked hundreds of Christians and leaders why they see themselves as Christians. Again no one gave him an "intelligent" answer.

In the past 17 years, he has asked over 4,000 pastors, leaders and parents why they believe the Bible is true.

A mere six “came close to giving an intelligent answer,” McDowell noted.

“If anything is based upon truth, it’s the Christian faith,” he said. “Christians who do not know why they have faith or believe have a very difficult time expressing themselves to others.

"The saddest thing is people come to me and say, ‘What’s the answer?’"

“I say, ‘There’s no answer… There are hundreds of answers.’"

How sad that we live in a country that has a Bible in every hotel room, a Christian bookstore on every corner, a church on every corner, a Christian radio station on every dial, a Christian TV station on every cable package.....and yet we are literally starving to death because of Spiritual malnutrition.

Jesus said he would come at an hour when his claimed followers were not expecting it. Do you think this self proclaimed Christian nation would be surprised if Christ returned today? Most don't even know who He is...or anything that He said.

Air Defense in Iran

This latest news could give Israel a few seconds or minutes of breathing room in it's growing conflict with Iran.

MOSCOW — The new UN sanctions prevent Russia from delivering S-300 air-defense missiles to Iran, a Kremlin official said Friday, in a reversal of the position announced by Russia's Foreign Ministry the day before.

The Kremlin statement was sure to please Israel and the United States, which have long urged Russia not to supply the powerful missile system. Russia signed a deal to sell the missiles in 2007, but has delayed their delivery.

We have posted a handful of times about this Russian air defense system. A few weeks ago the S-300 system was GOING to be delivered to Iran which had really ratcheted up Israel's timing on any planned attack on Iran.

What all this back and forth does is to keep the world guessing as to what Iran is planning.....but while the world is vacillating....Iran just keeps cooking nukes.

Next Week

Next week may be an interesting one. Early rumors are that Team Obama may vote with the world at the United Nations to force an investigation into Israel's flotilla killings.

This is insane. Do you know how many human beings the Turkish government executed in the past decade? How about how many Palestinians were executed by their own Hamas government for refusing to bow to Hamas? How many Christians are tortured and jailed in China every single day? How many Tibetans did China kill in the past few years? How many Muslims killed how many Muslims in every Arab country in the past few years? How many innocent civilians has the U.S. drones killed in our attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan?

But when Israel attempts to board a few boats to stop shipments to their declared enemy, Hamas....the world has a stinking cow!

And for the past 60 years, America has stood up for Israel and refused to support this hypocrisy and anti-Israel behavior.

That could all change next week.

THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned that senior Obama administration officials have been telling foreign governments that the administration intends to support an effort next week at the United Nations to set up an independent commission, under UN auspices, to investigate Israel's behavior in the Gaza flotilla incident. The White House has apparently shrugged off concerns from elsewhere in the U.S. government that a) this is an extraordinary singling out of Israel, since all kinds of much worse incidents happen around the world without spurring UN investigations; b) that the investigation will be one-sided, focusing entirely on Israeli behavior and not on Turkey or on Hamas; and c) that this sets a terrible precedent for outside investigations of incidents involving U.S. troops or intelligence operatives as we conduct our own war on terror.

I wonder what God could mean when he says he will "curse those who curse you"?

I wonder if we could have another huge natural disaster next week? I wonder if the stock market could fall by 30% overnight? I wonder if the New Madrid earthquake fault could break wide open through the heart of St. Louis? I wonder if a solar storm could strike down our satellites and strike havoc in our communication systems? I wonder if the spotlight could turn on our financial system and make investors lose confidence in the U.S.?

We will need to watch and see.

Lebanese Flash Point

The Turkish flotilla was such as success at turning world opinion against Israel that now the Lebanese may be planning their own confrontation with Israel.

The anti-Israel flotilla has turned the tide of world opinion against Israel, Fatah leaders in Lebanon say, and the time is ripe for a mass civilian charge against Israel’s border.

Mounir Al-Makdah, a leading Fatah leader in Lebanon, says plans are being made for a mass charge against Israel’s northern border. “What can Israel do,” he asks, “kill the entire Palestinian nation [sic]?”

“And even if they kill all those who take part in the march, the number of remaining Palestinians will still be more than all the Jews in the world.”

Al-Makdah told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Sapir that the plans for the march are being made via letters to thousands of “Palestinians” living around the world inviting them to take part. “It could be that they will just break through the border, with their children and their elderly. What will Israel be able to do?”

“A wind of change has begun to blow,” he said, “and Israel has begun to be a yoke not only for the Palestinian nation, but for the whole world.”

“The freedom flotilla brings a message of the beginning of the end of Israel,” Al-Makdah said.

Friends, the Bible says clearly that a day is coming when Israel will be isolated. It also says that it's enemies directly on her borders will one day be destroyed. It also says that she will be a cup of trembling....a large stone that will injure anyone who attempts to move it.

Can we see elements of all these things happening in this one article?

Risks Have Risen Significantly

You have heard us talk about the International Monetary Fund. (IMF) Many watchers believe this may be the organization that will be used to usher in the one world currency that the Bible says will be used during the Tribulation.

And yes, they have been in the news a lot as of late. Probably more foreshadowing for those whose eyes are open.

Today they are in the news again with this headline;
IMF: Risks to Global Economy Have ‘Risen Significantly’

The risks to a robust global recovery have “risen significantly” as many governments struggle with debt, a top International Monetary Fund official has warned.

“After nearly two years of global economic and financial upheaval, shock waves are still being felt, as we have seen with recent developments in Europe and the resulting financial market volatility,” Naoyuki Shinohara, the IMF's deputy managing director, said in Singapore on Wednesday.

“The global outlook remains unusually uncertain and downside risks have risen significantly,” Shinohara said, according to Britain's Daily Telegraph.

Here is one scenario of how this "one world currency" plays out...keeping in mind at all times that the Bible says the "Debtor will be slave to the lender";

Greece fails...they ask the IMF for a bailout loan. Spain fails...they ask IMF for bailout loans. Hungary, France, Japan, Portugal, Ireland, England, Sweden, numerous EU nations, etc....all ask for help from the IMF.

If this happens, the IMF will then be able to set control rules on the countries it has loaned to.

Next, the rapture of the church happens and the USA government fails. What fails along with it is the ability to repay the world the $13 Trillion in Treasury Bonds it has outstanding. This final shock wave forces most of the rest of the world to look to the IMF for basic needs.

Next, the world would be in total despair...desperately looking for a leader who could lead them out of this abysmal abyss.

And we know who that guy will be. ENTER THE MAN OF PERDITION...THE LAWLESS ONE!

Praise the Lord that he will not be revealed until the Holy Spirit is withdrawn from earth. And since we KNOW that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers during this Age of Grace....we know that means that Antichrist will not be revealed until AFTER THE RAPTURE! (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7)

Totally Unprepared

Today's Wall Street Journal has an article about how unprepared the U.S. is for an attack of WMD's, using nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.

The most important overlooked story of the past few weeks was overlooked because it was not surprising. Also because no one really wants to notice it. The weight of 9/11 and all its implications is so much on our minds that it's never on our mind.

I speak of the report from the Inspector General of the Justice Department, issued in late May, saying the department is not prepared to ensure public safety in the days or weeks after a terrorist attack in which nuclear, biological or chemical weapons are used. The Department of Homeland Security is designated as first federal responder, in a way, in the event of a WMD attack, but every agency in government has a formal, assigned role, and the crucial job of Justice is to manage and coordinate law enforcement and step in if state and local authorities are overwhelmed.

So how would Justice do, almost nine years after the attacks of 9/11? Poorly. "The Department is not prepared to fulfill its role . . . to ensure public safety and security in the event of a WMD incident," says the 61-page report. Justice has yet to assign an entity or individual with clear responsibility for oversight or management of WMD response; it has not catalogued its resources in terms of either personnel or equipment; it does not have written plans or checklists in case of a WMD attack. A deputy assistant attorney general for policy and planning is quoted as saying "it is not clear" who in the department is responsible for handling WMD response. Workers interviewed said the department's operational response program "lacks leadership and oversight." An unidentified Justice Department official was quoted: "We are totally unprepared." He added. "Right now, being totally effective would never happen. Everybody would be winging it."

Another article I had read in the past year said that if a small nuclear explosion happened in a medium size city....there wouldn't be enough beds in ALL OF AMERICA to tend to the sick and dying.

Planet earth has now become a place where a handful of men could bring down an entire nation....but no one wants to talk about it. Maybe it's because we realize there is nothing we can do about it but hope it never happens.

Warren Buffet tells us that nuclear terrorism is a 100% certainty....we just don't know when.

But let's make no mistake....it Muslim extremists could do something to destroy the United States....they WOULD do it.

So where is our confidence? Where is our faith? Is it in man and his governments? Or is it in our creator who promises that this life is just a passing mist and that we are aliens here because this earth is not our home.

Puzzling Scientists

It seems that the blue whales have changed their tune....and scientists are puzzled. Hence just one more sign that nature is groaning....groaning for what it longs to be.

The Blue whale–the largest animal ever to inhabit our planet–has been tracked by researchers since its numbers were perilously close to extinction in the 1960’s. Much of this tracking has been accomplished through underwater monitoring of whale “songs”, which are sung exclusively by male whales. These long, and fairly complex, sonic compositions are believed to be the means by which these whales attract mates. Over the past several years, the world’s blue whales have begun singing a different tune, of sorts; the frequency range of their songs has gotten significantly lower. And, this is happening, “in concert” all over the world–where ever these massive Cetacea migrate, feed, congregate and mate.

Scientist are puzzled as to why these blue whales (Balaenoptera musculus) are using this much lower “frequency band”. Some have speculated that they are competing with communication noise from increased shipping in there territories. However, this explanation does not satisfy scientists.

Return of Al Mahdi

Last night we were watching the 10 PM news on channel 5 and the weatherman took time out of his short schedule to tell us about a new sight that has appeared in the sky. It's a comet that is visible with the naked eye.

So what?

For Bible readers, we would chalk it up as just one more example of the strange and unusual things that will be seen in the sky...which will reach its crescendo during the Tribulation.

But if you are a Muslim who is watching for the return of the Islamic savior....Al Mahdi (also called the 12th Imam)....you may be getting VERY excited to hear of this new comet that just appeared on our horizon.

I am going to post a video from Youtube that will give you a basic understanding of Al Mahdi. It's imperative that you understand the seriousness of this discussion because most of the Iranian leaders believe that this dude is soon returning.

Again you may say, "So what Dennis....what do I care about what some Iranians believe?"

Well you should care because their prophecy says that a condition of chaos needs to be present on planet earth to usher in his return.....and Ahmadinejad believes that he has been ordained by Al Mahdi to create this condition of chaos.....and he is TRYING TO MAKE A NUCLEAR BOMB!!

Christians Targeted in Iraq

Keep in mind that the city of Babylon is in Iraq. Also remember that the Bible says Babylon will be the focus of much attention during The Tribulation.

We have wondered aloud if America was destined to go into Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein to pave the way for the Babylon prophesies to start to be fulfilled.

We have also wondered aloud if America will soon start falling from God's grace if He is done using us for His prophetic purposes....and maybe the war in Iraq was the last purpose He had for us?

Remember that we can usually see where Satan is building strongholds by finding some evidence that his demons leave in their wake. Hatred and persecution of Jews is a number one sign. Secondly, hatred and persecution of Christ followers is another sign.

With that in mind...and by connecting prophetic dots...it should not surprise us to see persecution of Christians continuing to grow in Iraq.

Shootings, bombings, rapes and kidnappings of middle class citizens, particularly Christians, increased markedly during the past year in Baghdad, Mosul, and the Sunni villages of the Nineveh Plain. This is one of the worst waves of violence against Christians since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, when, ironically, Christians fled the violence in a mass exodus. While media coverage downplays the religious significance, sources on the ground in those communities repeatedly pinpoint Islamic extremists as the culprit. Not only religious differences, but also cultural and political differences fuel their drive to exterminate Christ-followers.

Christians in Iraq aren't necessarily being shot to death, kidnapped or raped for sharing their faith. They're often killed for owning a hair salon that cuts women's hair, for allowing women to socialize with men, for not wearing a birqa, for openly selling pork or liquor, or even for entering a voting booth.

A 2004 article in Time touched on the sad irony of the US-led invasion - particularly that of American Christians, who backed Bush's decision to go to war with Iraq: "Many Iraqi Christians say their reversal of fortune has been especially disappointing given the backing the Bush Administration receives from evangelical Christians. 'Why did the US come here?' asks Mardirosian, the Armenian-Catholic leader, 'To protect the Christians or allow others to kill them?'"

Much of the recent increase in violence toward Christians was in preparation for Iraq's March 2010 parliamentary elections. Islamic extremists did not want Western-sympathizing Christians to vote. From February until the March 7th election date, Iraq Body Count tallies at least 228 people (Christians and non-Christians) killed, and another 176 people killed between election day and the release of the final results about a month later.

Certainly, Iraqi Christians need intelligent, outspoken support. Yet the UN's recent concessions to extremist Muslim leaders and Obama's failure so far to champion the Christian minorities in Iraq offer little political light to the dismal situation.

Of course the politically correct Team Obama can't possible point out that Christians are being targeted. To the liberal mind they are all just Iraqis...and there is no difference if Sunnis are killing Shiites or Shiites are killing Christians. Team Obama would simply believe that, "Losing any human life is a tragedy." So they have 100% failed to connect the dots that THIS CHRISTIAN NATION OF AMERICA SHOULD BE OFFERING SPECIAL BENEFITS TO PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS AROUND THE GLOBE.

According to the Book of Acts...membership in the body of Christ should have it's benefits...even while operating on this earth which is behind Satan's enemy lines. When America ignores blatant persecution of Christ followers.....it is simply one more sign that we have TOTALLY lost our compass.

After you read the linked article and find out what is happening to Christians in Iraq....see if you can find it within yourself to complain to God about your job, your house, the stock market, the late payment on your bass boat or the long line you had to endure at the airport while waiting to fly to your winter home.

Gold Bulls

You know how we have commenting on gold? You can't turn on the TV or radio without being bombarded with some ad to buy gold. Of course the ads all tell us that we need to own gold because it has gone up 200% in the last few months and has lots more room to grow!

That's usually a sure tell sign that the investment it about readly to tank.

Now this headline hit the waves today;

Gold could fall 40 percent from peak: Prechter

(Reuters) - The price of gold could drop 40 percent from its all-time high because of bearish technical momentum and deflation amid a European debt crisis, said Elliott Wave International President Robert Prechter on Monday.

Prechter said at the Reuters Investment Outlook Summit in New York that recent readings of gold market psychology showed a 98 percent bullishness in the metal, the highest ever recorded for any physical commodity.

"In terms of timing, the time to get excited about gold was back in 2001 when no one wanted it, and now everyone seems to want it, so I don't."

It seems that Prechter agrees with us....the fact that everyone now wants gold is a sure sign that we don't want it.

It's funny when you picture greedy little lemmings running around in a state of confusion. First they ran off the cliff of tech stocks in 2000 after hogpiling into them for 6 years, then they ran into real estate for the next 6 years until that fell off a cliff and now they are running into gold....always chasing somplace or something they wished that had bought LAST year!

So logic tells you that gold will be the next thing to fall off a cliff.

It almost becomes comical and sad to watch mankind charging after wealth and money....fully believing that the pursuit of money is the NUMBER ONE GOAL of life on earth.

How surprised millions will be when the trumpet blows....and they realize they have been running the wrong race chasing the wrong prize.

Pray for the harvest...as the workers are few.

I think you may be onto something Tom! Of course the religious Mullahs and Ahmadinejad may believe that the earth is shaking in Iran because the 12th Imam is getting ready to make his appearance...

Turkey, whose relationship with its longtime ally Israel is fraying, has been mediating in the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Middle East in a new activist foreign policy that has sometimes placed it at odds with Washington, its closest diplomatic and military partner.

Ezekiel 38:8 says, "After many days you will be called to arms. (Russia, Turkey, Iran, North African Arab states) In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate." Boy...that sure sounds like present day Israel!

It appears this prophecy is marching ever closer! Remember, most prophecy watchers believe that the rapture may happen BEFORE this prophecy is fulfilled.

One thing that is for sure....we are one day closer today than we were yesterday.

The Sun Awakens

Quite a while back (January 12, 2009-http://thetrumpetblows.blogspot.com/search?q=solar+storm&updated-max=2009-01-12T13%3A01%3A00-06%3A00&max-results=20) we posted on solar storms and the havoc they may cause when unleashed on our technological society. Scientists know these storms are coming. Coincidentally they may peak in the year 2012....maybe just in time for all the other chaos that Satan has been setting up for 2012.

Today there is more headlines on these coming solar storms.

Earth and space are about to come into contact in a way that's new to human history. To make preparations, authorities in Washington DC are holding a meeting: The Space Weather Enterprise Forum at the National Press Club on June 8th.

Richard Fisher, head of NASA's Heliophysics Division, explains what it's all about:

"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity. At the same time, our technological society has developed an unprecedented sensitivity to solar storms. The intersection of these two issues is what we're getting together to discuss."

The National Academy of Sciences framed the problem two years ago in a landmark report entitled "Severe Space Weather Events—Societal and Economic Impacts." It noted how people of the 21st-century rely on high-tech systems for the basics of daily life. Smart power grids, GPS navigation, air travel, financial services and emergency radio communications can all be knocked out by intense solar activity. A century-class solar storm, the Academy warned, could cause twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina.

OK...did you catch all those things I put in bold? I love the one about "...can all be knocked out by intense solar activity." Also "....twenty time more damage than Katrina."

I wonder if the USA can afford a solar storm that causes $100 billion of damage today? Where would we get the money to fix the damage? Would China loan us the money? Japan? Europe??

I know a place that would probably do it...the IMF (International Monetary Fund)!! I wonder if they will let us print money to pay them back?

Maybe Al Gore can make a movie about a solar storm ruining earth and we can have all the nations of the earth throw in printed money and I.O.U.'s into a "solar cap and trade" system? Then we could launch two HUGE rockets carrying a HUGE sun shade....like the one's you hang over your deck. Once in place it would block most of the suns rays and solar storms from ever hitting earth!!

Oh wait....I guess that would make us all die of a colossal ice age and starvation because the crops wouldn't grow. Shoot!! What's a guy to do??? It seems you can't live WITH the sun and you can't live WITHOUT it!

When will tiny, impotent man learn that we are helpless while traveling through the galaxy on a space ship made of rock, spinning on it's axis at 1000 mph, while orbiting a huge fireball called the sun that could destroy us if it spits up too much?

According to the Bible....impotent man will NEVER learn and will literally go to hell while cursing God.

Huge Fireball

The Bible tells us that during the last days there will be signs in the heavens.

Luke 21:9, Jesus tells us, "When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." (bold print mine)

A few weeks ago, Jupiter came out from behind the sun and was missing one of it's stripes.

A few days ago, Jupiter was pummeled by some large meteor/asteroid and the resulting fireball was huge.

This new impact on Jupiter comes less than a year after a spectacular crash on July 19, 2009, when what scientist now think was an asteroid about 1,600 feet (500 meters) wide slammed into the planet. That collision created a massive bruise the size of the Pacific Ocean.

In 1994, the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 broke into more than 20 pieces and pelted Jupiter repeatedly. At the time, astronomers estimated such impacts could occur on Jupiter every 50 to 250 years. So they were surprised by the July 2009 impact.

Did you catch that? "...yet another collision from space..." A collision last year caused a bruise on Jupiter the SIZE OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN!! And finally, "...So they (scientists) were surprised...."

Folks....we worship an awesome God! He can flick a tiny asteroid at a tiny planet called Jupiter in a tiny galaxy called the Milky Way and it can cause a BRUISE THE SIZE OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN!!

And yet He knows you and I personally by name. Who wouldn't want to seek shelter under His wings? Who wouldn't want to be shielded from the wrath to come?...shielded BY the ONE who is bringing the wrath!

It is getting harder to argue against the evidence pointing to the fact that time (as we know it) may be drawing to a close....the Age of Grace may be about to end.

"Tell us Lord," said the disciples, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the END OF THE AGE?" Matthew 24:3

What age?....the Age of Grace.

Annihilation of Israel Imminent

The Supreme leader of Iran is saying some pretty serious stuff against God's chosen people living in the land that God claimed as His own.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed that the Zionist regime is moving on a precipice towards demise and it will soon experience annihilation.

"Israel is a cancerous tumor," Ayatollah Khamenei said at a Friday event marking the 21st passing away anniversary of the Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini. The Leader said Israel's policies have pushed it to the brink of collapse, adding that Muslim nations should take their cue from Imam Khomeini's strong stance on Israel and its policies.

The rumors of war keep building. Israel is in the cross hairs. The nations are in turmoil. Strong storms are ravaging all corners of the earth. The sea is polluted with the largest oil spill ever. Earthquakes keep rumbling into population centers. Volcanoes threaten our lifestyles. Financial collapse of the global banking system could happen any week. Solar storms could erupt any day and knock out our electrical grid. Muslim terrorists may have already gotten their hands on nuclear weapons.

With its arrival on the Panhandle, oil from the BP disaster has now reached the shores of four Gulf states - Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama in addition to Florida - turning their marshlands into death zones for wildlife and staining beaches rust and crimson.

One official said the affliction brings to mind the plagues and punishments of the Bible.

"In Revelations it says the water will turn to blood," said P.J. Hahn, director of coastal zone management for Louisiana's Plaquemines Parish. "That's what it looks like out here - like the Gulf is bleeding. This is going to choke the life out of everything."

This occurrence is highly unusual

One of the most defining traits of any oil spill is the fact that it's black. The tar and crude cover the surface of land or water in a thin, black layer, which causes a lot of damage, and also gives the slick its characteristic look. But this does not appear to be the case with the most recent disaster of this nature. The oil spill taking place in the Gulf of Mexico for the last month has covered the waters of the Atlantic Ocean with a reddish slick, which has left scientists puzzled.
