Turkey and Russia Grow Close

Turkey, Russia and Iran.  The 3 main players in Ezekiel 38.

Today we read, and see photos, about a meeting between the President of Russia and the President of Turkey.

Remember that Turkey is a member of NATO.  NATO was designed by the rest of the world to combat the dangers of the Soviet Union and their desire to dominate the world.  Of course the Soviet Union is no more but Russia seems to have picked up their baton.  Now we have Turkey buying the S-400 Anti-aircraft system from Russia which was designed to shoot down NATO planes!!  Let me repeat...TURKEY IS PART OF NATO!!

With Turkey seemingly intent on forging an ever-closer relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the time has come to give serious consideration to Ankara's continued membership of the NATO alliance.

When the Turks first became members of NATO back in 1952, it was because their country was seen as a vital bulwark against the Soviet Union. Having Turkey in NATO meant it was easier to monitor the activities of the Soviet Black Sea fleet, and limited Moscow's ability to spread its tentacles into eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Now, thanks to the increasingly anti-Western conduct of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, none of these considerations remains relevant.

These days, the Soviet Union might be no more, but Russia under Mr Putin's autocratic rule is just as determined to undermine the West and its allies, and Mr Erdogan, to judge by his successful summit with the Russian leader on October 22 at the Black Sea city of Sochi, is proving to be Moscow's useful idiot in accomplishing these goals.

Relations between Ankara and Moscow have improved considerably since Turkish warplanes shot down a Russian military jet that had strayed into Turkish air space in 2015.

Thanks to the close rapport that exists between Mr Putin and Mr Erdogan, Russia's Black Sea fleet is able to operate freely, to the extent that Russian warships based in the area were used to attack rebel forces in Syria fighting the regime of President Bashir al-Assad.

Now, following the success of the Sochi talks, the two countries have agreed to work together on the post-conflict carve-up of Syria, one that is designed to bolster the interests of both Russia and Turkey at the expense of the Syrian Kurds who were, until recently, regarded as vital allies of the US and other NATO member states in the fight against ISIS.

This means that Mr Erdogan can persist with his offensive against the Syrian Kurds, who commanded the pro-western Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the battle to destroy ISIS, as he seeks to establish what he calls a "safe zone" in northern Syria which, to judge by the appalling casualties the Kurds are suffering at the hands of the Turkish military, is anything but safe.

Nor is Mr Erdogan's marriage of convenience with his Russian counterpart the first time that the Turkish leader has acted in a way that is directly contrary to NATO's interests.

Earlier in the summer, Mr Erdogan drew heavy criticism from Washington after he did an arms deal with Moscow that enabled Ankara to purchase Russia's S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, which was specifically designed to shoot down NATO warplanes. The Trump administration responded by saying it would exclude Turkey from the F-35 stealth fighter programme.

At a time when NATO is reconfiguring its resources to deal with the threat Russia poses to European security, from protecting the Baltic states from Russian aggression to dealing with cyber attacks, the cosy relationship that Mr Erdogan has embarked upon with Moscow can hardly be said to be in NATO's interests.

The time has come, therefore, for the alliance to give serious consideration about whether Ankara should be allowed to retain its NATO membership, or whether to abandon Turkey to pursue its pro-Russian stance.

Half of the Worlds Banks Too Weak to Survive Downturn

When the global financial system nearly collapsed in the 2007-2009 Great Recession, nothing was ever really fixed.  The central banks of the world responded by lowering interest rates to 0% in hopes of spurring consumers to continue buying.  They also created trillions of dollars out of thin air and called it Quantitative Easing.  Remember QE1, QE2, etc....?

If wealth could actually be created simply by creating paper money and/or zeroes on a column of numbers at the Federal Reserve, there would be no poor people in the entire world!  Governments could just print all the money they need and pay for free college, free housing, free health care, free cars and trucks.  Do you need some more money?  No problem!  Just ask your local government and they will give you all that you need.

Of course, that's ridiculous.  If money was easy to come by, it would cease to hold any value.

Sadly, it would appear that that's exactly what has been going on for the last 100 years that the Federal Reserve has been in existence.  The value of the dollar has been depreciated by some 95%.

When the next calamity comes around, and it certainly will, will the banks of the world be able to weather the storm?

A new survey from consultancy McKinsey & Co has found that a majority of banks globally may not be economically viable because their returns on equity aren’t keeping pace with costs.

The study looked at 1,000 banks in developed and emerging countries and found that just over a third had made a return on capital of just 1.6 percent over the past three years. This compares to returns of just over 17 percent for top banks over the same period.

"Nearly 35 percent of banks globally are both sub-scale and suffer from operating in unfavorable markets", as well as having flawed business models, said McKinsey.

It added that "to survive a downturn, merging with similar banks may be the only option, if a full reinvention is not feasible."

According to the report, banks are not as well-prepared for a downturn as they were when the global financial crisis erupted in 2007 in terms of profitability.

"While the jury is still out on whether the current market uncertainty will result in an imminent recession or a prolonged period of slow growth, the fact is that growth has slowed," McKinsey said.

"This is likely the last pit stop in this cycle for banks to rapidly reinvent business models and scale up via acquisitions,” the consulting firm said, adding: "The time for bold and critical moves is now."

Bible readers know that America is not mentioned anywhere in prophecy.  We also know that the Antichrist will sit at the head of a brand new financial system.  One that requires a mark on your hand or forehead in order to buy or sell anything.

This article makes us wonder if we are in the very last days of the current global financial system.

And if the Antichrist is close to coming on scene...how much closer are we to hearing the trumpet and a loud shout that tells all followers of Christ to COME UP HERE!

Civil Unrest Spreads Across the World, Is USA Next?

As we watch Leftists, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other disgruntled parties increasingly willing to punch, hit, yell, block traffic, burn things, etc...we have to wonder if the USA may soon be joining the unrest that is happening in many parts of the world.

If Trump gets re-elected in 2020, it could spark some MAJOR protests.  If Trump gets impeached and happens to be tossed from office (not likely before the election of 2020) it could spark some major anger by his supporters.

Also if the financial markets were to suffer a breakdown it could lead to some major unrest if people start getting laid off from jobs.  We already know that 70% of Americans don't have $1000 in savings and would have no way to pay their bills if they get laid off....so those folks would probably be more than willing and able to participate in protests and unrest.

All over the globe, the mood is turning sour.  Anger and frustration are bubbling over, and protests are becoming violent in major cities all across the planet.  In some cases economic pain is driving the protests and in other cases political matters are motivating the protesters, and it has been a very long time since we have seen so many angry protests happening all over the world simultaneously.

Unfortunately, many believe that what we have seen so far is just the beginning.  Global economic conditions are rapidly deteriorating, and as economic pain intensifies that is only going to make everyone more frustrated.  And here in the United States, the drama surrounding the potential impeachment of Donald Trump is going to greatly escalate the political tensions that are already deeply dividing this country.

No matter how things turn out, a large percentage of the population is likely to be deeply frustrated with the result, and that could very easily lead to tremendous civil unrest.

But before we get to Trump, let's take a look at what has been going on around the rest of the world first.  In Chile, we are witnessing violent protests unlike anything that we have seen in decades...

Three people died in a fire in a supermarket being ransacked in the Chilean capital early Sunday, as protests sparked by anger over social and economic conditions rocked one of Latin America's most stable countries.

Santiago's Mayor Karla Rubilar told reporters two people burned to death in the blaze and another later died in hospital, after the huge store controlled by US retail chain Walmart was looted.

Economic conditions are tough in Chile and rapidly getting tougher, and it is very unusual to hear of "looting" in a country that is normally so stable.

Meanwhile, political corruption appears to be the main motivation for the violent protests in Lebanon...

Thousands of demonstrators poured into downtown Beirut for a third day on Saturday, hours after overnight clashes erupted between security forces and protesters leading to large-scale arrests and several injuries.

Demonstrations have engulfed various parts of Lebanon for three days. Many protesters called for the resignation of the government and demanded the "downfall" of a political class that has ruled the country since the start of its 15-year civil war in 1975.

When people lose hope that things are ever going to get any better, they tend to take to the streets.

Unfortunately, corruption appears to be a way of life over in Lebanon at this point, and there seems to be little hope of major reforms any time soon.

For the left, any result that does remove Donald Trump from office will be a bitter disappointment.  The Democrats in the House of Representatives are going to draft articles of impeachment, and they believe that they already have the votes they need to send those articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate.

If the Republican-controlled Senate does not vote to convict Trump and remove him from office, this will greatly upset the left, and could result in an explosion of anger in our city streets.

On the other hand, if the Republican-controlled Senate does vote to convict Trump and remove him from office, tens of millions of hardcore Trump supporters are going to be absolutely livid.  There would be an explosion of righteous anger on the right, and it would almost certainly spill into our city streets.

Of course it is likely that both sides will start protesting well before there is a final result, but once the final vote in the Senate happens that is when things are likely to get very interesting.

One way or another this process is going to tear us apart.

If our founders could see us today they would be rolling over in their graves, because this is not what they intended.

Maybe the mood is turning sour all over the world because the earth is groaning?  Maybe everything is being put into place because The King is soon coming?

NBC Glorifies Getting Chip Implants

Please watch this video that shows NBC interviewing a dude who had a chip implanted in his right hand.

"What a glorious idea!", the world will say.  "We can have all of our keys, our bank accounts, our credit cards, our health insurance card, driver's license and even medical histories all loaded into this micro chip."

I have said it many times, but will say it once more today.  We are the FIRST GENERATION to have the technology that the Bible said WOULD BE HERE when the Antichrist sets up his unholy reign.

Also please remember that the rapture of the church happens BEFORE the Antichrist is revealed.

2 Thessalonians
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

The Next War

It seems that it's already old news that enemy forces wiped out 5% of the oil business in Saudi Arabia and they used drones to do it.  Now just imagine if Iran launched 10,000 drones at New York City...each with the same explosive power that destroyed the refineries in Saudi Arabia?  How would the military stop such a force?

We have missiles to stop jet fighters and missiles....but how do you stop something the size of a bird that is coming at you from 10 feet off the water and coming by the thousands?

In World War I, generals who studied Napoleon sent waves of troops into a barrage of machine gun fire. The rapid-fire weapons mowed down thousands in minutes. Was this necessary? No. Thousands of young men died all because their commanders focused on fighting the last war. They didn't adjust to new developments and new technologies.

In World War II, the Polish army defended itself from Nazi and Soviet invaders with horse-mounted troops. They also focused on fighting the last war and were quickly defeated. A few years later, World War II ended when the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan.

Ever since, most people have held the belief World War III will start the same way World War II ended. Anyone who believes this makes the same mistake as those who came before them. They prepare to fight the last war.

Our tendency to focus on the past creates a sense of familiarity and comfort, and comfort breeds complacency. When it comes to warfare, complacency is the enemy. For over seventy years, Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) prevented all-out nuclear war between the major powers. The world emerged from the Cold War intact. Following decades of uncertainty, nuclear war never came. We didn't destroy ourselves. This lulled many into a false sense of security, and complacency set in.

The majority of people now think World War III is unwinnable. They think possession of nuclear weapons make a nation invulnerable. Because they do, they think World War III will never happen. They're wrong.

The global stability of the post-war era is coming to an end. With the exception of a few moments such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, you have to go back to the years just before World War II to find a time when the world was more dangerous than it is right now. Why do I say that? Again, complacency.

During the Gulf War in 1991, the United States displayed a dominant edge in military technology. Its armed forces were declared superior to any on the planet. But dominance doesn't last forever. The nature of war has changed.

Nations now use terrorists, proxy armies, and cyber attacks to wage war anonymously. Conventional weapons can't effectively counter these types of attacks. Moreover, Russia and China have gone to great lengths to close the technology gap since the early 1990's. The result? The world power structure is on the verge of a major shift.

Drones are cheap.  Imagine how the balance of power is going to shift when the enemy realizes it doesn't need nukes and planes but only needs $1 million worth of drones and explosives to terrorize and devastate a city?  Even a city in the USA?
